  • Oh my, I haven't seen this video in so long!

  • I have this same video, from video vibrations on BET too. They showed all their videos on that show. Wow.

  • oh...memories, my first N.E. album.

    :)

  • err the dudes were upsidedown 500k a piece to the label! they couldn't really afford a serious video, and if MJ is throwing them a bone because of their squeaky clean image i don't think they can complain. lol

  • LOL.. bobby almost fell @ 1:29

  • LMAO!!!!!! I seen it to and I think he would've taken Mike down with him.

  • Lmao He did

  • lmao! i never noticed!

  • OMG! I soooo wanted to be an asian version of one the New Edition video girls!

  • don't they mean magic's secret? lol

  • i love this song even thow this is like my first time hearing it lol

  • that is how it was for me. I feel in love with this song, its been over 4 years and i can't get enough of listening to this song. I bought Krush Groove b/c of NE. I love them forever

  • wow they put one of their best songs with one of the worst videos ever lmfao

  • I do understand why someone at this time would think this a good idea for a video, but it doesn't fit the song at all. The song's an afterthought to: Hey, let's get Magic and the Lakers in a music video!

And I guess this won't be released officially any time soon because of the Lakers footage.

  • alot of cameos in this vid

  • THIS MY JAM I WAS 1 OF NE'S BIGGGEST FANS

  • Wow this was one of my NE Favs. Almost forgot about it!

  • whew that was scary and kinda funny at 0:04 that little head on top of that big ol body, kinda reminded me of that thing on beetlejuice with the lil voodoo shrunken head

  • Nice to see Clyde the Glide with his fro in the red throwbacks.

  • beat sounds a bit like "let's hear it for the boys"

  • No that was Tyra Ferrell from Boyz in the Hood and White Men Can't Jump.

  • This was back when r&b music could still be innocent and carefree. Nowadays even the teen groups make "fuck" music.

  • this song makes me think of the movie KRUSH GROOVE when they performed this song and had on shiny silver suits!!!

  • HAHAh yes, that was one of the main reasons i begged my mom to take me to the movies to see Krush Groove...lol

  • I remember as a kid being so made being from Boston the fellas used the Lakers!

  • Don't the Larry Bird and the Celtics feel robbed that they weren't invited to on the VIDEO.

And they FROM BOSTON! How messed up! :-(

  • CLASSIC

  • Glad ralph's voice changed

  • TRUE

  • the only reason the lakers are n the vid bcuz new edition liked magic johnson alot

  • I have been watchin' this video for 23 years and I am just now spoting Soul Train dancer, Lou "Ski" Carr (that big dude with the shades that is always jumping up and down and dancing like Michael Jackson) and also Shabadoo from Breakin and Breakin 2.

  • My mom is the same age as these guys and grew up in the same neighborhood blacks did not like boson sports team, they were too white, boston was very racists blacks here sill dont like the celtics. Can you rlly see Larry Bird in this vid?

  • Do yall see the momma from Boyz n da Hood. Damn how old is she.

  • lmao yea i kno, i think even in this video she was a little to old for them, she gotta be like 50 sum by now

  • Nah, I think thats Kim Wayans. She was in her teens when this came out

  • Kim Wayans was already an adult. She should be 47 by now.....the same age as Barak Obama!

  • yeah..but that's not Kim Wayans in this video...LMAO....That's IS the mother from Boyz N' The Hood...Her name is Tyra Ferrell.

  • We know thats not Kim Wayans. We were joking cause Tyra looked like her in this clip and I was telling Rucks90 that Kim was not a teenager in 1985 (she was about 23 years old then)

  • yep every1 gets those 2 confused

  • The woman who plays Ralph's girlfriend/love-interest in this video was a Janet Jackson backup dancer during Janet's "Rhythm Nation" days, I believe. Look at the video "Escapade" - the black female backup dancer is her! Also look at the videos for "Miss You Much" (she's wearing the hat and the bicycle shorts), "Rhythm Nation", and "Alright (With Me)" - she's in all of these vids. She's an excellent dancer!

  • This was the Krush Groove song.

  • love this song new edition is so good

  • i feel as if raplh was the only one who got action with the ladies bac then lol

  • Always bothered me being a fan of NE and from Boston that they have Magic in this. Still love NE

  • ooooooo! my secret, i love this song, almost forgot about it.

  • Man I love this SONG!!! The 80s was the best!!!

  • I'm so old school--I STILL bump this in my ride!

  • Although I don't have a ride to bump this in, I bump this everywhere else shamelesly. Because I, am just as old school. - It's what they call me. lol

  • Isn't that Tyra Farell at 1:06?

  • yeah that's her.

  • This was my song! Didn't it come out in like 85-86?

  • it came out in 1985

  • OMG! How many times did I hit rewind on my boombox & listen to this one over & over!!! Yeah youngins, no such thing as repeat back then! lol And couldn't wait to go grandma's house to see this vid - they had cable!

  • That basket should not have counted, you are not allowed to run out of the stands and shoot...The Lakers lost !!! : )...Ahh, good memeories

  • Oh my Lord. I haven't thought of this song in a twenty years. I can't believe I still know the lyrics.

  • Did anyone notice Boyz N The Hood and Poetic Justice actress, Tyra Ferrell. She's the chic being whispered in the ear by Michael Bivins. Sorry, but she looks outta place...too old lookin' to be in that video.

  • Did anyone notice Boyz N The Hood and Poetic Justice actress, Tyra Ferrell. She's the chic being whispered in the ear by Michael Bivins. Sorry, but she looks outta place...too old lookin' to be in that video.

    in the N.B.A.

    -HOT2NITE4U!

  • better version: new edition with bobby or johnny gill? vote now.....

  • I think with Bobby. There's nothing like the original.

  • I like them both the same but I'd have to say Johnny.

  • Um...Bobby.

  • LOL@Video Vibrations...do anyone remember Soft Notes on BET before Video Vibrations came out. I used to LOVE Video Soul.

  • I remember all those shows, Video Vibrations, Soft Notes, and Midnight Love, all of them were hosted by Alvin Jones, "The Unseen VJ."

  • yes i do

  • I only remeber VIdeo music box, Friday Night Video and New York Hot Tracks

  • did you see ricky and doughboys mom from boyz n the hood??? and video vibrations get the hell out of here

  • really cute video:)

  • damn brother from soul train was in hell of NE videos back in the day...............

  • Ralph Tresvant >>> Kobe Bryant! True story!

Oh yeah shouldn't they have been representin for the Celtics back then? They're only from Boston like a mufucka! lol

  • so i guess people from new york shouldn't have been chicago bulls fans when Michael Jordan was playing.

  • Your guess is right. You should've been supporting Patrick Ewing, not hanging off air jordan's nutsack.

  • KURT RAMBIS FLOPS!!!!! 1:36

  • how cute........gotta luv them

  • Magic Johnson looks older back then then he does now. To me anyways.

  • i was and still is a huge new edition fan. bias toward the originals but johnnie was good.

  • dis is my song dis is 1 of they best songs

  • dam if this aint a throwbak!! back in da dayz passin love notes to girls in skool check yes or no if u like me lol miss dem dayz....

  • Thee one and only Unseen VJ Alvin Jones hosting Video Vibrations and master of the Original Quiet Storm.

Did Ralph officially check into the game?

  • b 4 106&park all we had was video vibrations and video soul

  • ahhhh before that it was HOT TRACKS with host Carlos DeJesus....then Ralph McDaniels with Video Music Box back home in NY...MTV was'nt showing any love to african americans unless you was Michael Jackson.....

  • 100% correct,I always hated MTV for that. They kept so many black artist down, especially NE.Then NKOTB comes along and MTV promotes the hell out of them.

  • and i dont care what they say but nkotb was capital CORNY...N.E. just has that swagga that cant even be duplicated..... is it me or do you see bobby brown and rick james as the same with drugs women and swagga......

  • HAHAHA! To me he was more like David Ruffin without the voice.

  • New York Hot Tracks use to play this video all the time (although I was only a year old, I know cause my dad has this video on VHS from the show). Hot Tracks, Video Soul, Video Music Box, and Video Vibrations were best music video programs from back in the day....who needs MTV? They don't play music videos anymore anyway and they are still racist.

  • Video Soul came before New York Hot Tracks, but the former was'nt much known until Donnie Simpson became its host two years after its debut and when BET became a 24 hour program a short time later. Video Soul debuted in 1981, Hot Tracks and Video Music Box both debuted in 1983 and Video Vibrations came one year after that and unlike the first 3, it ran for 3 to four hours each weekday.

  • I am sorry but music was so much more fun back then ... OMG this brings back so many memories, roller skatin girls, dancin everywhere, just fun ... now if a song like this comes out its dead meat ....teen music went from puppy love to sex, jewelry, and fast cars .... wonder how many referencees NE made to cars and jewelry ... hmmm 0... dam i wish i had a time machine ....

  • no doubt i'm a dude and i was a New Edition fan(no homo) my sister would buy right on magazine to see what they was rockin and then go out and buy it for me so i can be N.E.Fresh.....these songs we had puppy love and crushes nobody was really thinking about sex but gettin a kiss or maybe a squeeze of the booty ;) but girls would punch you in the small of your back for that a you tried to run away...lookin like you got shot as you fell to the ground...ahhh memories

  • even though NE was singing about puppy love they were sleeping around... probably more then the average guy today... did you see VH1 bio story on New Edition... they were sleeping around so much... even their body guards got some action.. and new edition were sleeping around at the age of 12 and 13....

  • yeah but it was the women that was throwing themselves at these guys and hey at 12-13 hormones are functioning on overtime...at least they had enough class to keep it to themselves...but these new cornballs in the game all they do is brag on their sexual exploits...except Chris Brown and Mario..so they get some props..a gentleman never tells

  • my name is syierei look like roby

  • He has a crush on her...

  • I used this song when I was in 3rd grade to tell a girl I had a crush on her.. She was in the 6th grade and thought it was cute. Man that was long time ago..

  • MY FAV NEW EDITION SONG THANX!!!

  • LOL the secret is that thur corny kids who give high fives

  • Go laker girls with the old school footsteps!

  • Lol They were soo cute. Luv the video. A true classic.

  • i dont get New Edition. they from Boston and should be Celtics fan and they have Lakers in this vid. huh?

  • Not sure how old you are....but most black peoples were lakers fans back in the day (during the showtime 1980s) and when this video came out in 1985....the Celtics were the white, conservatives team. Not 100%, but for the most part this was correct....just like Georgetown in the mid to late 1980s was the squad that most blacks liked.

  • i just turned 17 ..born in 1990 from LA. thx for telling me. i had a caucasian teacher whos from boston hated the lakers so i thought every bostonian would hate the Lakers. guess i was wrong. lol

  • hey i think the reason why, they didn't represent boston. at that time the city of boston was having some real bad race issues. with blacks and whites. that could have been the reason why.

  • I was thinking the same thing, especially with the rivalry they had then, being the top teams in the East and West during most of the 80's.

I have another version of this video from their 1989 Home Video Release and they replace the Laker footage with New Edition Charity Basketball game footage.

  • I thought exactly the same thing. It's like Red Sox and Yankees. Either you're a celtics fan or a lakers. And if you're from Boston it should be simple.

  • so what i'm from new york and I loved the lakers team back then when Magic Johnson was on there and Kareem Abdul Jabar it was pure magic.

  • Okay.............. Can someone please tell what is the whole point of this video and no ralph I didn't get it yet.

  • Michael's girl, I reconized her she was in Boyz N the Hood, White Man can't Jump, School Daze,Jungle Fever, and she also did a movie with Robert DeNiro. I just can't remember her name.

  • cuz the celtics blow balls

  • The Celtics DO have MORE championships than the Lakers right? Of course they do and at the time of this video the Lakers were champs and the Celtics won AGAIN the following year.

  • 13 Championships I think. GOD Bless William Fenton Russell.

  • It's 16, and yes Bill Russell is one of the ALL TIME GREATS!

  • I stand corrected I didn't know. LOL

  • New Edition is from Boston. So why in the hell are the Lakers in the video and not the Celtics? Things that make you go "hmmmmm?"

  • Alrite! The video is back and I see its from Video Vibrations (season was some time in the eraly 1990's)

  • This video was made in the early 80's

  • I know the video was made in 1985, but the episode of Video Vibrations is from the early 1990's (according to the captions). I watched Video Vibrations from 1987-1992. Video Vibrations always played rare throwback videos.

  • I missed unsterstood sorry.

  • I remember in late summer of '96 when "Hit Me Off"had been out,BET paid homage to the group by playing all their videos including some of their solo joints. The only videos they didn't play were "CandyGirl"&"She gives me a bang".

  • They never play "She Gives Me A Bang" That is their most rare video and unless you had BET from 1983-87, or watched New York Hot Tracks all the time, you missed out. There was no excuse of why Candy Girl was left out. That was their first video and #1 R&B hit! There was no excuse!

  • Your right because the last time I saw "She Gives Me A Bang" was on Video Music Box around '93.Fortunately I was smart enough to tape it.

  • If you got it, then share, share, share!!

  • Unfortunately I don't have the proper equipment to post any videos, sorry.Trust me there's lots of video's I'd like to share.

  • I have the "My Secret" video on tape. My dad taped it on NY Hot Tracks back in 1985.

  • I've got all their videos on tape, but it took forever to get "Candy Girl".I got it last year when Marques Houston was on BET top 25.
