  • Thanks for such a useful video..it was so easy to understand the concept.

Question: I have a router/modem at home connected to 4 comptuers, would implementing a Switch help out in improving bandwidth traffic?

  • @SAI724 Yes, I have 4 computers at my house connected to a KVM switch (3 desktops & 1 laptop) & I have a Tenda wireless switch/router(which I got from (Micro Center) connected to my modem/router that I got from my ISP! Traffic flows smoothly!

  • Congrats!! this video made me understand better the principle of switching communication. it's important to figure out that switches forwards frames instead of packets...routers are essentially optimized devices for handling packets that have to be transferred between separate networks. That all :)...my best regards from Mexico

  • thanks alot, nice video

but if switch forwards the packet to the specific destination ,how could switch loop happen???

  • @MsCatchtheball loops or broadcast storms can occur when there are multiple connections between switches and nothing controlling which port interfaces should be used to forward the data - refer to CISCO CCNA 3 - STP

  • Thanks a lot... this video makes the concept clear :)

  • Execellent Video..

  • Thanks a bunch
