  • in SJA Sarah mentioned Susan and that she's University lecturing or something and that she hasn't aged since the 60's or something, Death of The Doctor -S4 if you want to see what she says etc, but yeah :')

  • @smudgers42 No; she mentions Ian and Barbara.

"And this couple in Cambridge, both professor; Ian and Barbara Chesterton; rumour has it; they've never aged, not since the sixties. I wonder..."

  • @Jamestopboy OH, oops.

  • @smudgers42 As far as we know, Susan is either still on Earth with David, or died in the Timewar.

  • The day that I break up with someone that meant a lot to me, I'm going recite this speech.

  • Did he ever came back? T.T

  • Is Susan Gallifreyan? A Time Lord? If so then The Doctor isn't really the last one. I mean, there's the daughter 'cloned' from the 10th, then a Human+Time Lord hybrid in River Song. And there is The Master who keeps coming back.

  • @aionzeta

doctors daughter jenny: clone not really galifreyan

river song: human with timelord dna due to being concieved on the tardis = died and is trapped in the libraries memory

susan: galifreyan : never mentioned again but it is possible she is alive

the master: in time lock after the end of time. used up his life force to save the doctor and get revenge on the galifreyans for making him insane

  • Utterly brilliant scene. Emotional, wonderfully acted, and no Billie Piper blubbing over her Doctor. Perfick!

  • "One day I shall come back..." YES YOU WILL!

  • I didn't think the Doctor ever had children? If so, just one?

  • @TimothyMably The Doctor's 'Daughter.' David Tennant's doctor had a cloned offspring who is somewhere in the universe.

  • @aionzeta Not what I meant. He calls her his granddaughter. Meaning, he had a kid who had a kid of their own. And his daughter you mentioned died in the episode :P

  • Um... Why was Susan calling the doctor, grandfather? Other than that, that is one of the most depressing farewells the doctor ever gave! ;(

  • @ATONOFbabyPANDAS Susan was the Doctor's granddaughter.

  • i watch this while i listen to Vale Decem ;(

  • Thumbs up if you think 11 should try to go find her. She won't recognize him (and I know that will be REALLY REALLY sad) but I want to see how they'd do it. Anyway, he did promise her he'd come back and he has a responsibility to his family.

  • wow... the doctor wasnt as harsh as he is today...

  • @cheesedoodles11 He was young back then :/ Maybe all of those years have gotten to him.

  • @rillera25 true true...

  • I bet susan is that woman from the end of time. The one who wilf keeps seeing

  • @timesplitter2512 hmm thats acctually quite a nice idea...i thought it would be the doctors mother or something :')

  • @timesplitter2512 No. It was not. Russell T Davies has stated that is was the Doctor's Mother.

Reference: Wikipedia 'The End of Time' entry.

  • did she say " GRANDFATHER! "?

  • @cheesedoodles11 Yes, why does that surprise you?

  • @AloraCinemaGameRoom bcuz... i didnt know the doctor had err a granddaughter... besides... i wasent born in the 1960's... i only saw the 11th doctor episodes and the 9th but nothing else but that...

  • I hope they bring back someone to play as Susan for the Anniversary of Doctor Who that would be amazing to see

  • @Chicken2701 Why would they when the actress who plays Susan is still very much alive. :)

  • @Chicken2701 Theres an audio with the eighth doctor who meets her called an Earthly child

  • im sure susan was madan colbariant all the time, and she had a grudge againts the doctor for never coming back and defending her in the timewar...

its about the biggest change moffat has got to himself, but noooo , he needed a anticlimax last minute cop up that left the brigadierd death for nothing, and kill madame colbariant like it was a cameo or something, sad, i like matt smith doctor, i like the storys, its jut that sometimes....they dont look at the legacy of the series at all, well not him

  • Does he ever see Susan again? I mean, she is going to live for a very long time and will definitely live longer than David.

  • @lunarheart14 she died in the time war so the doctor can never see her again

  • @MrRedbrenden1 Was she shown dead, or was it just assumed that she died?

  • @lunarheart14 i just think that because every time lord fought in the time war and the doctor and the master were the only ones who survived

  • @lunarheart14 It's unknown what happened to her.The 10th Doctor told Martha in the story "The Forgotten" that he had left her in the future and doesn't know what happened. In the Eighth Doctor audio dramas there are several ones with her in them.

  • @lunarheart14 Watch The Five Doctors. He very much reunites with her again.

  • @danielchance Ah, thank you!

  • @danielchance The Five Doctors isn't strictly considered to be canon, however.

  • @EarthTremor I've never actually heard that, and I don't see why it wouldn't be, considering it's part of the actual show, and has been mentioned several times in books and audios.

  • He sounds a bit disspassionate, but you can tell his hearts are breaking.

  • 00:25 pedoctor

  • Most famous of the First Doctor's scenes I think. The first companion farewell, and also what every parent or guardian has to go through eventually.

  • The year isn't 2150, the movie version is. In the series version they find an old disused calendar that says 2164, but it's more likely to be a much later date than that.

    Peace.

  • this must have been like the first real tearjerking moment in dr who

  • I bet she dumped David two weeks later.

  • @sphereballs In the DW book Rags it's implied that Susan stayed with David until he died, though she, being a Time Lady, was still young.

  • this is his best speech. I feel very sad every time a companion leaves but this one was different, it was...more special.

  • I'm glad he doesn't pontificate like this every time a companion leaves.

  • @aperson22222 The reason he does this whole speech is because that is his "granddaughter" so that's why this is why. Listen to the damn speech in retrospect.

  • You know you're a true Doctor Who fan when you can quote this speech word for word

  • Law 37 of the Universe states that the Doctor gets the best lines in every situation.

  • part of it on the 5 doctors the first doctor was a really good doctor and all doctor who fans will remember him

  • Oh God, I am actually IN TEARS right here.
