@MrSeemby Well, most people will associate any form of yelling or screaming in a song to screamo so i wouldn't be surprised, at tbh that's one of the song's low points anyway, the first minute and 28 seconds are fantastic
@OnscreenUnicorn Don't forget to label those thoughts as your opinion though, not everyone thinks that that's one of the song's low points, in my opinion the entire song stacks up perfectly and i actually prefer after the first minute and 28 seconds if asked which parts did i like best from the song.
This was a beautifully edited video, and the music, if I didn't know any better, would seem to be made for the animation. This is the distinction of Cynic's music in my view. A true artform, a collection of masterworks composed by incredibly talented musicians, who truly live to create intriguing and original music. Then combine it with the works of a legendary artist, and it's magic. I think Salvador Dali himself would have been pleased to see his art paired up with Cynic's music.
Paul Masvidal, lead singer/songwriter of Cynic is an amazing talent. His music is beautiful and haunting, like from another world. Perfect with Dali's surrealism!
Destino is a short animated cartoon released in 2003 by The Walt Disney Company. Destino is unique in that its production originally began in 1945, 58 years before its eventual completion. The project was a collaboration between American animator Walt Disney and Spanish painter Salvador Dalí, and features music written by Mexican songwriter Armando Dominguez.
oh, and this is the completed/remade/remastered/whatevered dali/disney "Destino", although I didn't think anything besides stills were available for this. so incredible.
Yeah, probably... I think tool is making tool look bad though... 1 album every 5 years, that's usually like 30-50% filler. I know they can do better. Yes I do like tool. I just like bands that are hungry for it better.
You raise a good point, especially considering their latest album. I think part of the problem is that Maynard has taken on so many side projects (APC, Puscifer, winery...) that Tool's become sort of a side project itself.
Salvador Dali was commissioned to do an animation for Disney, but because it went well over budget and took far longer than Disney expected, it was never completed at the time. Disney completed the work only recently in honor of a Dali retrospective. It's a long lost masterpiece and Cynic have been called nothing less than genius by music critics! Perfect combo.

what a great thing. tool should let this band tour with them, get them out there more. they'd make tool look bad though.

@oaktubs I agree, except I'm not sure it's possible to make Tool look bad. I think they could do a pretty epic collaboration, don't you?

I believe the animation (or the concept for it) was done by Salvador Dali. Paul Masvidal's music is perfect for this surrealistic piece. Brilliant!
