  • ooh please take some english lessons before posting, i cringe every time you make a mistake... *we* are the students, not you!!! grazie!!

  • @05tjj how many languages do you know? How do you try to share your skills with somebody? Try to do the same as Maha and do not count her mistakes, and after you upload more videos than Maha you will be able to correct her... or to criticize her.

  • @05tjj Mind, English is one of my mother tongues, and Maha's speaking it very well, even if we exclude the consideration that it's not one of hers. Or are you simply unused to the relatively increased laxity of the casual style that she employs?

  • see how christians and moslems live in palestine !! let the world know

  • Yaa Maha you are a very kind person. I am not Arab but I love Arabic culture. I visited some Arabic countries... had the times of my life!

  • U are realy a great girl , thank u for ur kindness with explaining ramadan :)

  • that was nice a non muslim talking sooo sweet about ramadan and islam.this shows she is not from western countries that no matter what will always hate us and spread lies about our religion.

  • @Mohammad2428 that's not true, I'm from Germany and there are a lot of people here who are very open and kind to other religions and countries. I for example am really interested in learning arabic and I love oriental music. The problem is that many people here are very badly informed about arabic people, because the television will only show the bad aspects.

  • Very nice explanation sister about Ramadan ~ am happy to hear that all ! May Allah Bless you Sister ~ good work ~

  • Too bad most Muslim nowadays suffer from overeating and overspending for delicious feast (breaking fast) during Ramadhan. Fast(fasting) all day, eat all night.

  • (Eid Al Feter) is the first day of the month ( Shawwal) ofc. as you said from the muslims calender . -Feter- is slimier to the word ( iftar) which is as you said when muslims can be able to stop fasting n eat in ramdhan (after al maghreb prayer) .. its the eid when muslim celebrate after ramdhan, it called ( feter ) coz its the first day where muslim go back to food all the day without fasting ;) .. I hope I helped. :)

  • hello everyone does anybody know what kereem means ?

  • Great explanation. I admire how you look to others

and it's true almost every muslim fast ramadan. thank god!

I believe this video misses one thing; that fasting is not just not eating or drinking, there is a much more important thing, which is to avoid every bad deed such as lying, swearing, cheating...etc.___That is the real fasting.

    I miss ramadan:)

there is something you mentioned about traweeh and it wasn't clear I'll clear it

Traweeh is a prayer like the 5 prayers but Muslims pray it after Isha prayer during Ramadan an it is consists of 10 rak'at also it is not a must (wajeb) its just sunna ( you have the choice to do it )

i hope that i cleared it

    thank you

  • Till now I was able countttt, mmm, lemme see, 4 languages that you can speak:

    1. Spanish

    2. Arabic

    3. English

    4. hebrew

    which is cool!! :)

  • Oh, i thought you were muslim XD!

Very nice video!! I like the fact that you talk about Ramadan even if it's not part of your religion!

  • I fast on Good Friday as a Christian

    :)

  • hi... great videos. knowing sooo many languages and sharing with others is certainly commendable! just wanted to add that fasting is common in the revealed texts of judaism, christianity and islam. in fact, according to the quran, "Fasting is enjoined upon you, as it was enjoined upon those before you, that you become God fearing." this verse also mentions the reason for fasting! btw, bad habits are to be avoided all the time, not just in ramazan! :) thanks and take care!

  • Inshallah next year we'll see you and ur husband fasting with us

    thank u mahaaaaa

  • Can you explain differences/similarities between the words iftar, ftour, fitr?

  • @djdfr Iftar is the breaking the fast meal, which outside of ramadan is just the word for breakfast. Futoor is slang for iftar. Fitr is another word for breaking fast. Eid al-fitr is our festival/holiday after ramadan.

  • @Chameleonslove Shokran Brother, Ramadan Kareem

  • @serajstyle Shokran for the information! :)

  • @LearnArabicwithMaha What religion are you?

  • Ciao Maha.

  • Hello, how are you?

My name is Elienai, I love to attend their classes in Arabic. I wonder if you can deliver videos translated into Portuguese and let me know your Skype to talk to you, I would like to learn to speak fluent Arabic and taste of Arabic culture.

  • I have a question that's a bit off topic.

Muslims say 'sal'Allahu alayhi wa sallam' after Prophet Muhammad is mentioned. I know it means, peace be upon him, but what is the exact literal translation if you break it down?

    Thanks! :)

  • @iAdhaaam

"Sal'Allahu alayhi wa sallam" means "May God honour him and grant him peace". Its a religious salutation called a "salawat" that muslims traditionally say it upon hearing or saying a name of a prophet of God (noah, abraham, joseph, moses, jesus, muhammad, etc).

Jews also use the same salutation for the prophets except in hebrew : "aleha ha-shalom"

  • @iAdhaaam Can I answer instead? :)

    I'm sure Maha won't mind. ^_^

    So if you allow me,

    Salla : verb means prayed.

    Allah: God.

    Al'ayhi: upon him.

    wa: and.

    sallam: blessed.

  • THANK YOU!!!! <3 <3 <3

  • @MrMelejdango in english?

  • narrow the ramadan from what i know of it

it is like thanks giving to the americans apart the preying before you eating is much much longer and instead of mass sacrifice of turkeys they be-head thousands of goats for the fasting

  • @okuma0kuma you mixed up ramadan and eid al-fitr with eid al-adha

in ramadan we fast from sunrise till sunset not just from food but from bad talk from every bad thing like smoking and when we breakfast we eat regular food no goats at all and at the end of ramadan we celebrate the ending of ramadan by eid al-fitr which also include no goats , we just buy new clothes and buy gifts to our parents and children and eat a lot of candy at the morning , about eid al-adha watch maha video about it

  • We could do a lifetime fast from bad habits.

    Great video.

  • Maha, have you ever fasted before? I know some Christians in University who fast just one day with Muslims to experience with it.

  • You explained everything very well! Ramadan Kareem to you/your friends as well!

  • shukran maha all the best to you and your family and please continue your lessons sincerely omer from germany

  • i love how you are very open to different religions...even if its not your religion.....I respect that. Thank you

  • @iluvdulcecandy In the Middle East muslims celebrate christmas with christians and christians celebrate ramadan with muslims..

  • Very good video. In my village we say Kul sena winta salim.

  • by the way ,arab world is very diverse and has multi faith . palestanians are not all muslims , there are around 4 million christian arab from palestine. I am muslim myself and i celebrate christmas too , and my christian friends celebrate Eid and Ramadan too ! despite what the news on TV tells you about arabs which is 90% wrong . thank you my dear maha . we all appreciate your effort . best wishes to you and your husband and family and ramadan kareem to you and god bless you all .

  • why is everybody asking about her religion ? does it really matter ? this video is not about religion . its about the arabic culture . arabs are diverse people . christians , muslims and others . you guys are missing the point here . she is christian and yet knows very well about muslims life and vise versa . Ramadan is no longer a muslim tradition in the arab world , but its part of the entire arab culture despite religions and part of everybodys experiance .

  • Beautiful video, mashallah. Ramadan mubarak! Kil 3am wa enta bi5yer, inshallah!

  • Maha is christian! x

    Ramadan Kareem x

  • One thing Maha, Muslims follow the lunar calendar which is only 28 days, that is why Ramadan falls in different times of the year. Also, thank you for your informative vlogs.

  • Shukran for your kind words Ya Maha....your kind wishes touched my heart.

    Ramadan Kareem :)

  • Thank you Maha.. you know more about Ramadan than I do and I am a Muslim LOL

Ramadan Kareem to you and everyone. Much love

  • Maha thanks :)

Could you tell us what food muslims in, palestine use to eat during ramadan?

In Algeria we eat a lot of chorba (soup) different kinds, kefta and zlabiya.

  • Thx Maha that was really interesting !

    you're so cool !

  • Hello maha, where are you from exactly then? like, where were you born and why can you speak both arabic and hebrew? :O what religion are you? your videos are amazing!!! :) saludos de españa!!

  • Oh, you aren't Muslim? I thought all Palestinians are Muslim. I'm just Curiose . What is your religion?

  • @ibrahim3d Do you think that the country of Jesus have no christians?

Do you know who are Georges Habash , Arshibishop Hilarion Capucci, Azmi Bishara, Arshibishop Hanna Attallah ?

By the way Ramadan Mabrouk ;)

  • @manticorex5452452 Well,I am not ibrahim3d,but I take the opportunity too say something anyway. There are a lot of Christians in Israel,a specially in Jerusalem

  • @Hans021220 Jerusalem is Palestine ;) And I am talking of palestinians. It is normal you will found christians in the holy land. There is still a strong palestinian community in the lines of 48 and a lot of christians in ...

  • @manticorex5452452 I was talking about Palestinians !. I didn't mentioned all who live there. @Sabei0990 Thank you :)

  • @ibrahim3d All peoples i mentionned are palestinians ....

Do you mean that George Habash the founder of popular front of liberation of palestine is not palestinian ????

  • @ibrahim3d

    she is christian

  • @ibrahim3d My friend. Palestine is the home of the 3 true religions. Palestinians come as Christians, Jews and mostly Muslim.

  • Wonderful video Maha ... I'm really happy :) hehehehe .... one thing i just want to make clear ... Charity is صدقة which is optional ... but زكاة is an obligatory charity ... I'm not sure if there's an English equivalent for it :P

  • @AysarAburrub

Yes, the english equivalent is sadaqa and zakat, respectively.

  • @AysarAburrub I believe it is alms giving as a preferred equivalent.

  • I have a muslim friend and he told me this very morning that Ramadan start this thursday.

  • @MITHWORLD1

    depends which country

  • shoukran maha for this video and ramadan kareem to all :)

  • RAMADAN KAREEM

  • Great video Maha. Very informative. What was quite funny for me was christian fasting tradition in Your country. I'm also a christian, but christians in Poland never fasting from milk. :-) It's depends from culture for sure. Before Easter christians in Poland have sometihing we call "quality and quantity fast". Quality means we don't eat meat. Quantity means that we eat only three meals. One full meal and two meals only to satisfy hunger.

  • @janekmi fasting 40 days before easter is a christian rule for all christians I think !!

But it's not very followed in europe. I am muslim myself and I had only one friend who I know fast "careme" (in France).

  • Love this picture of coexistence in Palestine! I agree with mohmedinou, great job. To you too Ramadhan Mubarak! :)

  • @Zoldidi you have that too in Syria !

By the way Palestinian are a great people !!

  • It's call Taraweeh. It's a little bit different. I don't know if they call it Tarweh in Palestinian accent. Also, Alzakat when muslims give poor people rice, dates, or any kind of grain. When you give people the meat of the sheep, they call it Dahiah. I don't know if everybody call it Dahiah, but where I lived they call it Dahiah.

Thank you Maha for the information, and I hope my comment was helpful.

  • Maha is Christian

    Am i right?

she said that in one of her older videos...

  • Hi,

Very interesting and informative video. Thanks for reminding what does ramadan mean, the atmosphere that people who are fasting have. Although it is not your culture, I think you did it well, I mean the explanation, the universe, the reasons, etc. Moreover, you taught lots of words that I even didn't know. Well done. Keep up the good word and thanks for your greetings.

  • brava maha e grazie per questo video!!! As former catholic and muslim revert i found this video really useful... Barak'Allaho fik ya Maha! and Ramadan kareem, kol sana wentoum taybeen! (Lamia Essafa)
