The next generation of American children going through the education system are becoming statist-drones. What better citizens to have in the future police-state, than conforming zombies who'll snitch on you for owning a gun or marijuana or just living outside the 'norm' (aka free will).
isn't statusism a more fitting word? status is the basis for the decline of america & civilization in general. those not having it but wanting it, and those who have it and influence the many. just like we (USA) have to have power over the planet - even tho we do not.
If you have and anarchistic society. Let say i have a dispute with someone and i end up killing someone. What is there supposed to happen?
Is the family of the victime gonna take care of it and decide what would happen?
What if the guy has no family?
What if i kill a guy who actualy is innocent but he is very unpopular so i'd say it's in selfdefence and after all nobody will miss the annoying mr x. So nobody cares.
Ah Statism - the new boogie man. Its a paper tiger. You made up a name for the dark side of human nature - bravo. And in using to label people and make them "the other" you have become the very darkness you rage against. Stop it.
@solinoure Statism is not the new boogie man, it's been around forever, people are just starting to see the reality of the situation at this point. Besides, dark sides of human nature can exist outside of statism as well, it just has a much harder time taking hold without direct "darksideness". lol
The only "other" I speak of are those who use aggressive violence on peaceful people who simply disagree, and I resemble "them" in NO way. Please, explain how a nonaggressionist is an aggressionist?
Seriously. What the hell do you want then? An anarchy state using barberism? Mob rule with dim wits in charge no specialized people. No one that actually has enough brains to store enough facts about the letter A in their head? Seriously, what do you want?
@jmitterii2 THANK YOU! Finally, someone trying to ask the real questions... basically, so what is the alternative?!? I have a video coming out soon that will explain why choice-based consumer dispute resolution organizations based on direct and voluntary funding trumps the government's violent monopoly of statism slavery. Hopefully the video will be out before next weekend.
@mikeshanklin I look forward to your alternate ideas. I'm open minded, at present I just don't know an alternate method other than taxes to ensure social items get paid for, and those items tend to benefit everyone. grant it some spending benefits only a few and not society at large. That's where the big beef should be. But if you can come up with a better system that's feasible, I'm all ears. A complete voluntary system is just not feasible, greed prevents that. Why communism doesnt work.
@jmitterii2 Tax avoidance is not illegal dude, tax EVASION is... and I wish everyone would do both!!! lol You hope a guy gets caught trying to escape statism slavery?!? What kind of a life you must have... hating on people from trying to escape the ponzi scheme?!?.... that is just sad. Go spread the nonaggression principle, not hatred... Why do you want peaceful people locked up in cages? Sounds like you have a few screws loose in your head.
@mikeshanklin Didn't know what you meant. Thought you meant evasion not actually doing your taxes properly which is just that, its ensuring you don't pay what you're not suppose to pay after all and getting tax credits you are entitled to by law. And yes I dislike people who break laws. You are just stilling from everyone else, as everyone else has to make up for the tax difference... so they end up raising taxes more on everyone else. Tax evasion isn't victimless. Get what I mean?
@jmitterii2 Actually, taxation is not victimless, and its the aggressive act. It's not that you are doing anything else to others, its that you are not allowing them to steal from you. I don't want institutionalized, monopolized aggressive coercion (governments) at all... what makes you think I want to fund this ponzi scheme called statism slavery? I look for a day when your thievery is abolished. I do not want your threats of aggressive violence on peaceful people who simply disagree.
@mikeshanklin Don't be coy with me. You know what I meant about tax evasion not being a victimless crime. Taxes themselves are not robbing. It is your duty to pay in order to recieve the benefits such as roads, water works, school, police, fire department, social security/disability, medicare/medicaid, military protection, waste disposal, air transportation, electric grid etc. A ponzi scheme benefits no one. Taxes benefit everyone. You have some screws lost.
@jmitterii2 I'm not being coy, I am being as direct as possible, taxation is involuntary, it is against the nonaggression principle, it is by definition theft... even the government definitions support this. Taxation is compulsory, not voluntary,... and are you seriously telling me that without institutionalized violence, we wouldn't have roads or water or schools or protection services, or fire departments?!? That is simply not true at all. Taxes harm everyone, voluntary interactions = win=win
@mikeshanklin Something that would save everyone money is if the treasury directly could just issue money for funding government operations instead bonds and paying interest. Tax payers wouldn't have to pay back the interest that the government uses when spending on a deficit as there wouldn't be an outright deficit-- no deficit to pay back.Taxes are a necessary evil. Otherwise Walton family would be contributing lots of money to contrib. to society.I don't see that happening.
@jmitterii2 So, if I disagree with what the taxes go to... I am not allowed to disagree and take my money to something I believe more beneficial?!? Taxation is INVOLUNTARY... it IS theft,... you are taking people's property against their will. Government IS ponzi scheme.... except worse, because even ponzi schemes have to trick people into their system voluntarily... governments FORCE you to participate in their ponzi scheme. Government is WORSE than a ponzi scheme!
@jmitterii2 Huh, you didn't even bother apologizing for mistakenly calling me a moron and hoping I'd be imprisoned, you just carry on :-\
Anyway, where I see tax as immoral is that it is used to do all sorts of things I don't agree with. A good example we can all agree on would be bailing out corporations. I did not agree to this, they stole that money from me.
And there are many other examples where I did not consent but was FORCED to pay for it. That's being robbed, constantly.
Should be viewed by all those “baggin baffoons” all Americans then think on your own no coercion just think, laissez-fairnor nor central economy what we have is nothing less than total corrupt Oligarchies, Plutocracy now the corrupted “Highest Court” misnomer “citizens united” is special interest united against the American People not agree 100% with Mike but more right than wrong “Military-Industrial-Wall Street-Monopolistic Global Corporatism” The New World Order – Please Stop and Think
I think that you should do a video that explains more directly what is causing poverty and wars and degrading society and how society is supposed to really function!
That Debt is the money we're paying to Wall Street Companies instead of using that money to educate the people how to Farm and Develop. You cannot owe yourself. It's steel (rocks) and electricity. It's Lumber and Farms.
In general, moral men do not seek careers in politics. One Ron Paul in 200 years is not a good average.
Yes, statism IS evil. For it is founded upon the premise that people must be "ruled" or that people need "leaders."
You don't need a "leader," you need Liberty. You may fail, you might make really stupid choices for yourself, you might not to follow any moral compass but your own, In the end... you might get yourself and your loved ones killed.
@webfulcrum It is not a problem of moral men not seeking careers in politics. It is a problem of the US system being designed in such a way that predominantly favours the rise of the immoral to the top. For the most part, only those who are willing to sell out for power attain the highest offices, due in large part to the prohibitively high costs of running for election.
The problem with statism is not that it cannot work, but that the masses have allowed the state to become corrupt.
@sidewinderrt10 There is no "system" designed by man that does not eventually favor the greedy and the corrupt. Perhaps it's because the heart of man is deceitful, and desperately wicked from the start.
The root of modern monarchies can be found in criminal gangs of old, where the "king" was merely the chief ruffian. And the ravings of that lunatic, Marx... ha!
It has also been said that “Most men do not desire liberty; most only wish for a master that doesn't beat them.” ~Sallust (86-34BC)
If the voter is represented, then the government is more likely to consist of people who are there to serve the people, rather than themselves. People may be more inclined to vote, thus effecting positive change, if their representatives are serving the citizenry. A government that serves the people is a government of leaders rather than of rulers. We just need to create a political state where it is the leaders, rather than the rulers, who rise to the top. Only then will statism truly work.
In Canada we have been on a path to eliminating the funding factor. Parties currently receive $2 from the government for each vote they receive. There is also a cap on election spending, a cap on personal contributions, and a ban on contributions from unions and corporations. This is a good start, but it isn't enough. If the voting taxpayers cover the costs of running, the voters will be represented, thus eliminating the funding factor.
The purpose of government is to protect citizens and to provide essential services. If it takes a great deal of money to run for office, then those who run for office will represent those who pay for their campaign, rather than the voters who elected them into office. They need to represent the voter for the system to work properly.
The reasoning here is sound, but the proposed solution can only result in anarchy, which is no more ideal than the current situation. The major problem with the current system is, as JackTheJust suggested, that too many people are apathetic, submissive, and subservient to affect any positive change in the realm of politics and governance. Another problem is the prohibitive cost of running for office, particularly in the United States.
Excellent! Kudos to you. The real problem is not with the elite power mongers whose families have ruled for generations by manipulating public opinion & corrupting/killing the few who oppose them. It is with the vast majority of sheople who let them. When creatures blessed with choice, consistently choose ignorance & apathy, evolution stops and they deserve what they get. People have always & will always believe what they want. Until that changes, nothing else will.
it was a longplanned coup d'tet that went into high gear under traitor Bush II.. we can stay silent and die or speak out, make arrests and hang the guilty, for cause..
I gave this a positive mark but there were two major mistakes with the points made.
1. The church was actually doing the right thing by asking for proof before publishing the information that the earth revolved around the sun(not that the earth was round). If we had this system in place we would not have groups like the IPCC.
2. Some people like and want strong statest government. Communist and Islam (theocracy) are examples of those that love big government.
Well Government does actually mean mind control. Break it down Govern-ment, i.e. Govern -mental, the Governing of the mind. This is the actual definition I believe going all the back to Latin. Etymology of words are very important it will really help you to know what your REALLY dealing with.
@caddy1010 True, all we need to do is put on our tin-foil hats because TIN-FOIL tells us all we need to know: it will FOIL their plans, their plans of making little TIN-soldiers out of us. We're through the looking glass here.. WHO are we dealing with? Who is trying to control our minds? How? Why? Answer me if you can.
@Breezewontspeak I break down a word and why the TRUE knowledge of its root are important in an attempt to spark a knowledgable conversation yet I get you and your driville showing a true lack of knowlege by missing the whole piont. And just a quick annotation I use the word knowledge or its derivative 4 times you use tin and foil 3 times each to make a point about something that does not exist, spoken of by a CHILD in a MOVIE. You have proven who Governs your Mental, its called fiction. R.I.F.!
@caddy1010 ...I'm not the one lacking true knowledge. I'm making fun of you to make you see you're wrong. The word Government has an etymology in french (gouvernement) which derives from the latin gubernare, which means "to steer, to guide" etc. All of this can be learned in a matter of seconds by using google. There is no need for you to invent your own meanings. Now back to the other issue: why would someone control my mind and how?
@Breezewontspeak I would like to give you the benefit of the doubt and not allow your foil statements to sum up your capacity to intellectualize. I wont even judge your reference tool for learning is a quick google search on such a capricious ( n.p.i.) subject. Surely you would agree from your definitions 'TO STEER OR TO GUIDE" wether it be by consent, coercion or corruption are forms of governing the mental. Why you ask? Its 9 to 5, pay taxes, adhere to laws i.e. mentality goverened or anarchy.
@caddy1010 So you're saying that when information can be obtained quickly through google, it is not as valid as when you just make it up? You haven't yet admitted you were wrong about the etymology. And no, don't mind the tinfoil stuff, it was meant to be absurd, as absurd as your made up etymology, which was based on homonymity. No, I don't agree wth you. You can steer, guide etc. without controlling anyones mind. Mental governance would mean that I wouldn't have free will, now wouldn't it?cont
@caddy1010 cont. Mind controlling and guiding someone is completely different. And then we get to the why. In my country 9 to 5 is 8 to 4, but still, I don't see problem. Pay taxes, that's a good thing, we need roads and social security and hospitals and cops and schools, taxes are a good thing. I gladly adhere to laws, I like the thought that I don't have to fear that everyone I meet is going to mug me, that the strong won't harm the weak. All in all, anarchy sounds pretty nasty doesn't it?
@Breezewontspeak We agree on Govern (for the most part) now ment could be mental? No I would go farther than the English suffix as a noun to the Latin noun ament which would be the root. Meaning insane or person with severely deficient intellectual capacity. Just the way the Govern-ment views its citizens.
@caddy1010 Uhh.. I gave the root for the entire word, you really don't need to add your own interpretation. Are you serious about ament? Ament is a form of the word amo, to love. Demens or insanus would mean insane. Are you making this up as you go? There are online dictionaries that would keep you from losing face here. And leaving semantic and stuff aside, who is the government if they view their citizens in this manner?
@caddy1010 Did you just turn the chess board around? What's wrong with you? You didn't teach me anything, you made stuff up, I checked my facts, you didn't... AGH! You're too frustrating to be for real. It seems you are a troll, then. Good job, I didn't see through you. Have a nice day tough guy.
@antonlibertineable Anton you don't have to pay taxes. That's the lie. Take a close look at some of the video's of people who are separating themselves from corporate ownership through the necessary forms. When you are born you become a credit to the blue bloods for $1 million dollars and are traded on the stock exchange. You only suffer as you are compliant. Take your power back and become a freeman today and stop world suffering.
An excellent and concise appraisal of the corrupt system, which is within ‘our’ hands to change for a better future; ‘the people’ have the opportunity to determine the future of the world. For too long psychopaths have been in control, while the sheeple allow themselves to become the oppressed. Non-compliance with the entire bureaucratic machinery of central and local government will eventually collapse the entire evil, which requires a concerted effort by ‘we the people’ the world over.
One minor note. You don't discuss the obvious alternative, anarchy, and the lesser known alternatives, notedly, Chinese sociopolitical systems, the Latin American Social Democratic systems, among others. There are pros and cons all over, including anarchy. Renewed plants in Argentina and other systems show this.
@toeg1 The system is on its last legs, that we know, and the controlling psychopaths bringing out ever more horrors to bludgeon the citizenry into compliance and subjugation. That time is coming to an end – or not. It is up to ‘the people’ to determine the future of the world, not them. If the sheeple majority remain asleep to this evil and do nothing, the future of the world is out of our hands and we will remain slaves for 1,000 years. But, if everyone becomes non-compliant to all authority.
Good points. I might also point out that governments pretend to fail so that they can pass the most draconian of measures. Works every time. China will become the dominant nation in about 9 years. Our status does depend on we the people, but if our currrent zombie-state is any omen, that status will be one of fear and trepidation. I don't see the violence in the streets ebbing, but I do see more incarceration.
Great job Mike. Just to pass it on, I am a subscriber yet this video never appeared in my subscriptions folder. I found it by searching for video clips about statism.
@1975Volk - Remember, in a Democracy a majority can vote out your rights [Constitutional or not]. But in a Republic (incidentally the original form of government in the USA) you can NOT take a man's rights by vote. Only by misleading Americans with a bureaucracy, lies, disinforming by poor education & political subversion of our original form of government can we see the effects of what is happing today in the USA.
@CaJeffO Strength, patriotism, love for the motherland - it is a force, it is a strong country! Democracy - is a weak structure. Democracy is never won power. How you can democratically choose the Governor, if you do not know him personally as a person and public official?
@1975Volk Strength, patriotism, love for the motherland. The only time I have ever heard the term "motherland" mentioned from anyone other than a german Nazi. That's what the "motherland" was. They had strength, patriotism, love for the motherland and Germany was a democracy and Hitler was elected democratic election. Everthing Hitler did was legal and achieved through programming thru the free radios hitler gave away to spread the message of democracy!!!!!!!
No. Some people though believe things like Lazy-far capitalism is evil but they miss understand that it was government that created the monopolies that they hate.
said, "Is In America there no freedom and democracy?"
There are still freedoms but they are being taken away piece by piece. Democracy I will not get into
The Zeitgeist Movement (TZM) brought up some Real and Tangible Solutions to ACTUALLY SOLVE OUR ECONOMICAL, SOCIAL & ECOLOGICAL CRISIS - to know more about it, watch: "Awakening - Multilang - 1/4" (short video) and "Zeitgeist Addendum". Both of them are on YouTube. The SOLUTIONS presented in both videos are already being applied and they have already been proved to work in the short and long run. It's about time to expand/spread it World Wide.
@antonlibertineable Martyrdom would be pointless - The State has more than enough bullets and can build more jails for the current amount of dissenters - the greatest value for the long term success of the free society over the violence and destruction of the State is education. Ideas are ultimately what determine the course of history.
In other words we need to go back to what the Founding Fathers had in mind all along, and thankfully there are some politicians who still think like the Founding Fathers.
@antonlibertineable Not really. The Ron Paul thing is merely stating a preference- If Ron Paul is only going to kick me in the hand where Bush has kicked me in teeth and Obama continues to kick me in the testicles then I much prefer to be kicked in the hand. None of my resources or time go to Washington if I can help it. If there was a way to avoid paying them for fuel or other necessary items, then I would avoid those taxes as well.
The nation-state model is more threatened today than it has ever been. For the first time in history we have a means to definitively circumvent any and all state boundaries; the internet. On top of this, we've moved from a system where by individuals affect change through their respective nation-states, to a newer emerging model where where you don't NEED the state to bring about change and people are starting to realize this.
Your videos are so good, Mike. I send them to friends all the time. But my cat doesn't want to let me type this. So who's the higher life form? Thanks, again, kindred soul!
@antonlibertineable innocent people are murdered everyday for 1000's of years.. if i'd say i stop paying taxes because i dont want to kill millions iraqi children i suddenly get a heartattack or agressive cancer and die in a month.. and nothing would change. many examples.. JFK, MLK, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Aaron Russo, Bill Hicks, Michael Jackson...
Statism is there because we have allowed it to be there... However, knowing how corrupt the system is, why did we let it come into be in the first place?
Understanding that it is there because of convenience and not as a necessity would be a great starting point.
Example, diapers are there for the convenience of the mother, not as a child's necessity; a child who is not changed in time would get hurt from a wet diaper. But it is convenient for the mother because the diaper limits the mess..
That's a good point. Why does government get to force you to buy its services at gunpoint and we don't? Not that I or any other decent person would want to. But it does speak to the utter immorality and intellectual bankruptcy at the heart of statism
I wish this was true and everything will just work itself out when every one wakes up but that will never happen. The Zionists will never let it happen.
A 10 Million Man March on DC & Wall Street, with nail bats, sledgehammers, and rope is the ONLY action that will put an and to the pedophillic tyranny and corruption eating out the heart of our country. The Federal Reserve must be dismantled, and the thieves, liars, political felons, and pedophiles need to be thrown into the Potomac River and Lake Ontario. Talk, debate, and bitching accomplishes NOTHING! The time to preserve our children's heritage is NOW!
I suppose at the root of all coercion lies mis-education and enshrined beliefs (usually erroneous)which people are actively encouraged not to deviate from
quite often through force, coupled with a corrupt value system which encourages
avaricious behaviour from citizens.
A way of opposing these forces is to question what we are told and led to believe
especially by media and politicians and honour and respect your inner truth
when Society at large is clamouring for war or revenge.
Ok I'll give an A for intent, effort, time and money you are investing. The problem is no matter how well you shoot. If your not aiming at the right target. Your most likely doing more harm than good. Think about a target. Put a ZERO in the bullseye. Add 5 or 6 more rings around the bullseye. Now you people figure out what to place in and the order there of. once you know that the bullseye equals "ZERO" population growth. How do we get there? What are the impediments? Good Luck!!
How to take a small step away from this indentured servitude is very simple. Grow a garden and supply some of your own food, buy a few hundred dollars worth of silver bullion and just keep it do not worry about the up ad down value, ride your bike a few times save a few gallons of gas, trade some skills with others for exchange of services. You do not have to set the world on fire just take the first small steps and continue to do this you will be revolutionary in this way.
Great video, as always very direct in its approach and very informative! I long for the end of statism and every thing it stands for, im sick to my stomach of being force fed their bullshit every waking day of my life!
I don't understand how no government is better than a bad government. Seems to me that would cause chaos. Would not it be better to fix the bad government so that it could work best for everyone. I know that much of what you say is true, very true but how to fix it requires something akin to some kind of governing body, does it not.
We are not talking about anarchy here are we, or ARE WE. I personally would like to see good politicians in office.
I find that big government often creates the big business that modern liberals demand the government control. Incidents such as Love Canal, and the Exxon oil spill are examples of big government protecting its baby (big business).
Bottom line, as much as this may tap into the sentiments of those who feel that man can self-govern himself, the sad reality is that to be a "civilized" society, there is some sort of construct necessary. Take a good look at Somalia and see how lack of any structure and self-governing is working out. Perhaps it's not the system that's the problem, but those control it. Through our apathy, ignorance and complacency, this has allowed the plutocracy and corporate oligarchy to rein supreme.
Everythingism is the answer to everything. You oversimplify everything and run your rethorical line in a way that could prove everything.
It was obvious to ancient greeks that communities need to be leaded and ruled, and look what we have in western civilisation comparing to any other civilisation. (i think, that you could google out suggestive pictures and images for yourself).
Great job Mike. You have hit on a very important point, and that is, as long as we accept and even foster statism, nothing will change. The only way to disband the structure that steals our money, wages immoral wars, prints phony currency and props up banks is to not give in to the concept that the government is our keeper. As you said, when we turn away from this notion, statism will die a rapid death. Arguing the talking points spewed out by the talking heads will not do the job.
You oversimplify history. Not that I support the expansion of the modern state, but if western society hadn't evolved the way it did, you would probably be illiterate, subject to diseases that nowadays are prevented, and most likely be living in abject poverty.
Keep up the wonderful work, Mike. Today with the Internet, which provides us an unprecedented flow of information, we are empowered to defeat the twin evils of statism and religion and put them into the dark, slimy, and putrid holes they crawled from once and for all.
One corection and I wish people would get it right.
You said unintended consequences.
When you show people proof of what their fail and blame scams accomplish and they keep flinging shit about some future benefit if we just do as they say, then that conclusively proves that the consequences are exactly what they intended all along.
The problem is that statism can not be defeated piecemeal. Even if, say, the United States adopts a near anarcho way of life then foriegn statists will begin playing the unorganized masses off against each other. People are generally good... when outside corrupting forces are removed.
The good thing is that tnx to internet, truth about all these things spread very rapidly and more and more ppl every day are being enlightened. This is ofc of great concern to the governments and their greatest fear. Making sure they don't have the ability to censor or shut down internet is one of the biggest concern right now for the ppl. Don't be surprised if u one day turn on ur PC and nothing is happening.. Then it's the time for guns.. lots of guns.
THE CHALLENGE IS HOW DO YOU DEVELOP THE WHOLE SYSTEM, WHICH WOULD ENABLE MAXIMAL LIBERTIES, ALONG WITH THE OTHER NECESSITIES SUCH AS ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, MOBILITY, SECURITY, ETC.
AND THAT'S THE PROBLEM THE LIBERTARIAN NEWBIES HAVE. THEY CAN'T WRAP THEIR MINDS AROUND THE WHOLE THING. MIKEY'S PROBLEM IS THAT HE CAN'T GRASP THAT YOU CAN'T CONTINUE TO ALLOW INVADERS TO JUST WALK IN AND VOTE OUR LIBERTIES OUT OF EXISTENCE (SEE CALIFORNIA)...ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION IS A MAJOR LIBERTARIAN CHALLENGE
"Be a martyr, stop paying taxes and show society what the State does to you when you stop paying taxes!"
Pointless, counter-productive, and ultimately what The State hopes you'll do. Talk, argue, think, show. Reconsider, re-argue. And when you think all hope is lost, rest. Repeat. Mankind does not wake up from fantasy easily; to try and wake humanity up sooner does more harm than help. Peace (or whatever we call it) may not come this generation, or the next. Patience; think; engineer memes.
Actually, I am under the taxable limit on annual donations.... You want me to fight with Wal-Mart over sales tax? Other, larger, more important battles require my attention.
Ok Mike, educate me. Are you saying that the opposite of Statism is Anarchy (is it that simple or is there more to it?) and that Anarchy is what we should have?
@SomethingSea1 Ok interesting. I consider myself a Libertarian but I think at the same time I have an ideology of 'nothing black and white.. too much/too little of anything is bad'. Too much government is DEFINITELY bad. Having no government could also be bad. I could give a good example but YT is a little bitch when it comes to posting links and going over a certain amount of characters.
@SomethingSea1 Great point and I was just going to clarify what I meant when u posted a second comment. Also, you touched on something that I wanted to discuss: Free market. I like the idea of free market. Heres where I think maybe TOO MUCH free market is bad: Shipping American jobs overseas. We used to be a nation that built things and now we are a nation that only buys things. I think a completely free market would do the same thing (take our jobs overseas) so too much/too little applies here.
This problem is more complex than I can competently address, I think.
1. Jobs are with corporations, the bastard child of the freemarket/capitalism and The State.
2. Since we are to be machine parts to be doing the most possible work with the least possible pay, the best person for such would be someone who lives in a More tyrannical place than USSA - i.e. not America.
3. Freemarket * The State = Expanded Tyranny. It's not too much of a good thing; it's a good thing twisted beyond recognition.
@DJTripleThreat78 On purpose. I was watching one of those videos talking about our masters and that's the phrase the guy used - "USSA". I liked it. I think it might have been... The Secret Of Oz? I have a playlist on my channel page with the stuff that I think is relevant to this. Might be able to find it somewhere on there. It's annoying that the playlists were switched to the "more" button. Though, at least the awesome "Money As Debt" series is first, so it shows up, and I highly recommend it.
Additionally, since the term gov't is already vague, it is usually and often conflated with everything to do with order. Anarchy is not specific enough to deal with this -- "no archons" is the literal definition, and ideally people would know this to mean "no people who are using force illegitimately". With anti-statism, you don't start with CHAOS!! and you can define the term properly: The State is that which has a monopoly on force, so there isn't the red herring to deal with.
Although, forgive my imprecision with the definition I gave - I can see it easily being put as "Well what if I company sells a good product and gets a monopoly on the market, huh?" However, this is answered rather easily: If someone sells a better product, then that company that was formerly dominant will have to adapt or go out of business. This is assuming a free market system, and this would not and does not currently occur.
In the context of "The State", does government mean people organizing and electing a leader? No, and this is the type of governance to which you likely refer when you talk of "a little government" as being good. The key: Legitimacy. Someone was elected by the group. Likewise, if the group elects someone else, or elects no-one, that should work out as well. However, if the elected person doesn't want to "stand down", we now have a possible State, depending.
@mikeshanklin yeah that would be cool. but we'd need a referee of some sort. disagreements will come up and personal violations will occur. and how is it settled fairly...indifferent software would probably give the fairest outcome, the loudest voice would probably "type" through on the internet. we need something, maybe I'm just desperate..
@mikeshanklin I think that sounds great but the sad thing is which i wouldn't care much but most ppl would destroy theirselves but hey at least it would be their FREE choice to do so.So yeah i agree.
in defense of the nation, in defense of an antiquated model, i propose another, equally vague, yet more overtly demonstrable culprit: the New World Order.
Define this system as you like, the sum phenomenology of human suffering impinges on elitism of one form or another - Liberty then, without a noble culture, is an impossibility.
For the order of rank between man and man cannot be measured or denied!
It probably should be noted that Arms Dealers/Manufactures of arms of any description, are not inherently evil, only rather the government subsidies that supply them.
If Blackwater, as a defense-firm along popular and respected insurance companies, provided security as a subscription service, I believe few would complain.

Stop it.
solinoure 7 months ago
@solinoure Statism is not the new boogie man, it's been around forever, people are just starting to see the reality of the situation at this point. Besides, dark sides of human nature can exist outside of statism as well, it just has a much harder time taking hold without direct "darksideness". lol
The only "other" I speak of are those who use aggressive violence on peaceful people who simply disagree, and I resemble "them" in NO way. Please, explain how a nonaggressionist is an aggressionist?

@jmitterii2 THANK YOU! Finally, someone trying to ask the real questions... basically, so what is the alternative?!? I have a video coming out soon that will explain why choice-based consumer dispute resolution organizations based on direct and voluntary funding trumps the government's violent monopoly of statism slavery. Hopefully the video will be out before next weekend.
mikeshanklin 7 months ago
@mikeshanklin I look forward to your alternate ideas. I'm open minded, at present I just don't know an alternate method other than taxes to ensure social items get paid for, and those items tend to benefit everyone. grant it some spending benefits only a few and not society at large. That's where the big beef should be. But if you can come up with a better system that's feasible, I'm all ears. A complete voluntary system is just not feasible, greed prevents that. Why communism doesnt work.
jmitterii2 5 months ago
Good anti-statism thing to do: tax avoidance. I consider it a moral thing to do, it puts some competition into the taxing industry.
Jotto999 8 months ago
@Jotto999 You are a moron. And hope you get cought.
jmitterii2 7 months ago
@jmitterii2 Tax avoidance is not illegal dude, tax EVASION is... and I wish everyone would do both!!! lol You hope a guy gets caught trying to escape statism slavery?!? What kind of a life you must have... hating on people from trying to escape the ponzi scheme?!?.... that is just sad. Go spread the nonaggression principle, not hatred... Why do you want peaceful people locked up in cages? Sounds like you have a few screws loose in your head.
mikeshanklin 7 months ago
@mikeshanklin Didn't know what you meant. Thought you meant evasion not actually doing your taxes properly which is just that, its ensuring you don't pay what you're not suppose to pay after all and getting tax credits you are entitled to by law. And yes I dislike people who break laws. You are just stilling from everyone else, as everyone else has to make up for the tax difference... so they end up raising taxes more on everyone else. Tax evasion isn't victimless. Get what I mean?
jmitterii2 7 months ago
@jmitterii2 Actually, taxation is not victimless, and its the aggressive act. It's not that you are doing anything else to others, its that you are not allowing them to steal from you. I don't want institutionalized, monopolized aggressive coercion (governments) at all... what makes you think I want to fund this ponzi scheme called statism slavery? I look for a day when your thievery is abolished. I do not want your threats of aggressive violence on peaceful people who simply disagree.
mikeshanklin 7 months ago
@mikeshanklin Don't be coy with me. You know what I meant about tax evasion not being a victimless crime. Taxes themselves are not robbing. It is your duty to pay in order to recieve the benefits such as roads, water works, school, police, fire department, social security/disability, medicare/medicaid, military protection, waste disposal, air transportation, electric grid etc. A ponzi scheme benefits no one. Taxes benefit everyone. You have some screws lost.
jmitterii2 7 months ago
@jmitterii2 I'm not being coy, I am being as direct as possible, taxation is involuntary, it is against the nonaggression principle, it is by definition theft... even the government definitions support this. Taxation is compulsory, not voluntary,... and are you seriously telling me that without institutionalized violence, we wouldn't have roads or water or schools or protection services, or fire departments?!? That is simply not true at all. Taxes harm everyone, voluntary interactions = win=win
mikeshanklin 7 months ago
@mikeshanklin Something that would save everyone money is if the treasury directly could just issue money for funding government operations instead bonds and paying interest. Tax payers wouldn't have to pay back the interest that the government uses when spending on a deficit as there wouldn't be an outright deficit-- no deficit to pay back.Taxes are a necessary evil. Otherwise Walton family would be contributing lots of money to contrib. to society.I don't see that happening.
jmitterii2 5 months ago
@jmitterii2 lol it's our duty to pay taxes, according to who, slave? a social contract? I didn't sign any contract?
And by the way, money is an ASSET, meaning you OWN it, meaning it's YOURS, so NO ONE should be able to take it away. Thus taxes = theft.
You're the one with screws lost Mr. "Benefit Everyone".
sgthobbes2 5 months ago 2
@jmitterii2 So, if I disagree with what the taxes go to... I am not allowed to disagree and take my money to something I believe more beneficial?!? Taxation is INVOLUNTARY... it IS theft,... you are taking people's property against their will. Government IS ponzi scheme.... except worse, because even ponzi schemes have to trick people into their system voluntarily... governments FORCE you to participate in their ponzi scheme. Government is WORSE than a ponzi scheme!
mikeshanklin 5 months ago
@jmitterii2 Huh, you didn't even bother apologizing for mistakenly calling me a moron and hoping I'd be imprisoned, you just carry on :-\
Anyway, where I see tax as immoral is that it is used to do all sorts of things I don't agree with. A good example we can all agree on would be bailing out corporations. I did not agree to this, they stole that money from me.
And there are many other examples where I did not consent but was FORCED to pay for it. That's being robbed, constantly.

But the burden of your choice is yours alone.
webfulcrum 10 months ago 3
@webfulcrum It is not a problem of moral men not seeking careers in politics. It is a problem of the US system being designed in such a way that predominantly favours the rise of the immoral to the top. For the most part, only those who are willing to sell out for power attain the highest offices, due in large part to the prohibitively high costs of running for election.
The problem with statism is not that it cannot work, but that the masses have allowed the state to become corrupt.
sidewinderrt10 10 months ago
@sidewinderrt10 There is no "system" designed by man that does not eventually favor the greedy and the corrupt. Perhaps it's because the heart of man is deceitful, and desperately wicked from the start.
The root of modern monarchies can be found in criminal gangs of old, where the "king" was merely the chief ruffian. And the ravings of that lunatic, Marx... ha!
It has also been said that “Most men do not desire liberty; most only wish for a master that doesn't beat them.” ~Sallust (86-34BC)
webfulcrum 10 months ago
If the voter is represented, then the government is more likely to consist of people who are there to serve the people, rather than themselves. People may be more inclined to vote, thus effecting positive change, if their representatives are serving the citizenry. A government that serves the people is a government of leaders rather than of rulers. We just need to create a political state where it is the leaders, rather than the rulers, who rise to the top. Only then will statism truly work.
sidewinderrt10 10 months ago
In Canada we have been on a path to eliminating the funding factor. Parties currently receive $2 from the government for each vote they receive. There is also a cap on election spending, a cap on personal contributions, and a ban on contributions from unions and corporations. This is a good start, but it isn't enough. If the voting taxpayers cover the costs of running, the voters will be represented, thus eliminating the funding factor.
sidewinderrt10 10 months ago
The purpose of government is to protect citizens and to provide essential services. If it takes a great deal of money to run for office, then those who run for office will represent those who pay for their campaign, rather than the voters who elected them into office. They need to represent the voter for the system to work properly.
sidewinderrt10 10 months ago

Etymology of words are very important it will really help you to know what your REALLY dealing with.
caddy1010 1 year ago
@caddy1010 True, all we need to do is put on our tin-foil hats because TIN-FOIL tells us all we need to know: it will FOIL their plans, their plans of making little TIN-soldiers out of us. We're through the looking glass here.. WHO are we dealing with? Who is trying to control our minds? How? Why? Answer me if you can.
Breezewontspeak 11 months ago
@Breezewontspeak I break down a word and why the TRUE knowledge of its root are important in an attempt to spark a knowledgable conversation yet I get you and your driville showing a true lack of knowlege by missing the whole piont. And just a quick annotation I use the word knowledge or its derivative 4 times you use tin and foil 3 times each to make a point about something that does not exist, spoken of by a CHILD in a MOVIE. You have proven who Governs your Mental, its called fiction. R.I.F.!
caddy1010 11 months ago
@caddy1010 ...I'm not the one lacking true knowledge. I'm making fun of you to make you see you're wrong. The word Government has an etymology in french (gouvernement) which derives from the latin gubernare, which means "to steer, to guide" etc. All of this can be learned in a matter of seconds by using google. There is no need for you to invent your own meanings. Now back to the other issue: why would someone control my mind and how?
Breezewontspeak 11 months ago
@Breezewontspeak I would like to give you the benefit of the doubt and not allow your foil statements to sum up your capacity to intellectualize. I wont even judge your reference tool for learning is a quick google search on such a capricious ( n.p.i.) subject. Surely you would agree from your definitions 'TO STEER OR TO GUIDE" wether it be by consent, coercion or corruption are forms of governing the mental. Why you ask? Its 9 to 5, pay taxes, adhere to laws i.e. mentality goverened or anarchy.
caddy1010 11 months ago
@caddy1010 So you're saying that when information can be obtained quickly through google, it is not as valid as when you just make it up? You haven't yet admitted you were wrong about the etymology. And no, don't mind the tinfoil stuff, it was meant to be absurd, as absurd as your made up etymology, which was based on homonymity. No, I don't agree wth you. You can steer, guide etc. without controlling anyones mind. Mental governance would mean that I wouldn't have free will, now wouldn't it?cont
Breezewontspeak 11 months ago
@caddy1010 cont. Mind controlling and guiding someone is completely different. And then we get to the why. In my country 9 to 5 is 8 to 4, but still, I don't see problem. Pay taxes, that's a good thing, we need roads and social security and hospitals and cops and schools, taxes are a good thing. I gladly adhere to laws, I like the thought that I don't have to fear that everyone I meet is going to mug me, that the strong won't harm the weak. All in all, anarchy sounds pretty nasty doesn't it?
Breezewontspeak 11 months ago
@Breezewontspeak We agree on Govern (for the most part) now ment could be mental? No I would go farther than the English suffix as a noun to the Latin noun ament which would be the root. Meaning insane or person with severely deficient intellectual capacity. Just the way the Govern-ment views its citizens.
caddy1010 11 months ago
@caddy1010 Uhh.. I gave the root for the entire word, you really don't need to add your own interpretation. Are you serious about ament? Ament is a form of the word amo, to love. Demens or insanus would mean insane. Are you making this up as you go? There are online dictionaries that would keep you from losing face here. And leaving semantic and stuff aside, who is the government if they view their citizens in this manner?
Breezewontspeak 11 months ago
@Breezewontspeak Stop making shit up and just be happy I taught you some free knowlege....now go use it!
caddy1010 11 months ago

An excellent and concise appraisal of the corrupt system, which is within ‘our’ hands to change for a better future; ‘the people’ have the opportunity to determine the future of the world. For too long psychopaths have been in control, while the sheeple allow themselves to become the oppressed. Non-compliance with the entire bureaucratic machinery of central and local government will eventually collapse the entire evil, which requires a concerted effort by ‘we the people’ the world over.
dawes777 1 year ago
Very well done.
One minor note. You don't discuss the obvious alternative, anarchy, and the lesser known alternatives, notedly, Chinese sociopolitical systems, the Latin American Social Democratic systems, among others. There are pros and cons all over, including anarchy. Renewed plants in Argentina and other systems show this.
toeg1 1 year ago
@toeg1 The system is on its last legs, that we know, and the controlling psychopaths bringing out ever more horrors to bludgeon the citizenry into compliance and subjugation. That time is coming to an end – or not. It is up to ‘the people’ to determine the future of the world, not them. If the sheeple majority remain asleep to this evil and do nothing, the future of the world is out of our hands and we will remain slaves for 1,000 years. But, if everyone becomes non-compliant to all authority.

Through our apathy, ignorance and complacency, this has allowed the plutocracy and corporate oligarchy to rein supreme.
wildpeachatl737 1 year ago
Everythingism is the answer to everything. You oversimplify everything and run your rethorical line in a way that could prove everything.
It was obvious to ancient greeks that communities need to be leaded and ruled, and look what we have in western civilisation comparing to any other civilisation. (i think, that you could google out suggestive pictures and images for yourself).
JJCrimson 1 year ago
Great job Mike. You have hit on a very important point, and that is, as long as we accept and even foster statism, nothing will change. The only way to disband the structure that steals our money, wages immoral wars, prints phony currency and props up banks is to not give in to the concept that the government is our keeper. As you said, when we turn away from this notion, statism will die a rapid death. Arguing the talking points spewed out by the talking heads will not do the job.
StepUPNJ 1 year ago 2

MrShoeguy 1 year ago
The problem is that statism can not be defeated piecemeal. Even if, say, the United States adopts a near anarcho way of life then foriegn statists will begin playing the unorganized masses off against each other. People are generally good... when outside corrupting forces are removed.
BlackOps05 1 year ago

Ok Mike, educate me. Are you saying that the opposite of Statism is Anarchy (is it that simple or is there more to it?) and that Anarchy is what we should have?
DJTripleThreat78 1 year ago
@DJTripleThreat78 Many anarchists are now calling themselves anti-statists.
SomethingSea1 1 year ago
@SomethingSea1 Ok interesting. I consider myself a Libertarian but I think at the same time I have an ideology of 'nothing black and white.. too much/too little of anything is bad'. Too much government is DEFINITELY bad. Having no government could also be bad. I could give a good example but YT is a little bitch when it comes to posting links and going over a certain amount of characters.
DJTripleThreat78 1 year ago
That would depend. Would you consider there to be an amount of rape that was "enough", amounting to being "good" for a person?
SomethingSea1 1 year ago
@SomethingSea1 Great point and I was just going to clarify what I meant when u posted a second comment. Also, you touched on something that I wanted to discuss: Free market. I like the idea of free market. Heres where I think maybe TOO MUCH free market is bad: Shipping American jobs overseas. We used to be a nation that built things and now we are a nation that only buys things. I think a completely free market would do the same thing (take our jobs overseas) so too much/too little applies here.
DJTripleThreat78 1 year ago
This problem is more complex than I can competently address, I think.
1. Jobs are with corporations, the bastard child of the freemarket/capitalism and The State.
2. Since we are to be machine parts to be doing the most possible work with the least possible pay, the best person for such would be someone who lives in a More tyrannical place than USSA - i.e. not America.
3. Freemarket * The State = Expanded Tyranny. It's not too much of a good thing; it's a good thing twisted beyond recognition.
SomethingSea1 1 year ago
@SomethingSea1 Ok Fair enough. Also... was the 'USSA' on purpose or a Freudian slip? lol :)
DJTripleThreat78 1 year ago

SomethingSea1 1 year ago
Although, forgive my imprecision with the definition I gave - I can see it easily being put as "Well what if I company sells a good product and gets a monopoly on the market, huh?" However, this is answered rather easily: If someone sells a better product, then that company that was formerly dominant will have to adapt or go out of business. This is assuming a free market system, and this would not and does not currently occur.
SomethingSea1 1 year ago
Lastly, let's deal with the conflation:
In the context of "The State", does government mean people organizing and electing a leader? No, and this is the type of governance to which you likely refer when you talk of "a little government" as being good. The key: Legitimacy. Someone was elected by the group. Likewise, if the group elects someone else, or elects no-one, that should work out as well. However, if the elected person doesn't want to "stand down", we now have a possible State, depending.

Is the opposite of Love, Hate? The opposite of Love is Indifference.
SomethingSea1 1 year ago
@SomethingSea1 Uh uh, Indifference is the opposite of ALL emotion.
To say that indifference is the opposite of a single emotion, is to say that standing still is the opposite of moving left.
That statement is one of those that has permeated the collective consciousness, without ever being properly considered like; there are NO absolutes.

@mikeshanklin yeah that would be cool. but we'd need a referee of some sort. disagreements will come up and personal violations will occur. and how is it settled fairly...indifferent software would probably give the fairest outcome, the loudest voice would probably "type" through on the internet. we need something, maybe I'm just desperate..

in defense of the nation, in defense of an antiquated model, i propose another, equally vague, yet more overtly demonstrable culprit: the New World Order.
