I had a '76 T-Bird in high school - black, black padded landau top, black leather, 460 ci V-8 and loaded. I also had a '74 T-Bird in first semester of college. This one was light blue, white vinyl top, white leather, 460 ci V-8, and loaded with even a moonroof and rear mechanical antilock drum brakes. The antilocks didn't work well, but it was cool to have them. If I remember correctly, the 76 had thick body side molding, while the 74 has thin molding. All else was the same. Oh yeah 202 hp
My parents has a '73 when I was a kid and I had a '75 with two tone interior when I was a teenager. They were great cars. They were also so similar to the Mark V. Your car is a beautiful example. I miss mine.
I remember being fascinated with all the lights in the interior as well. It was very well done. I loved the reading lights that could be turned on over the opera windows with a switch. If I remember, the seat backs also unlatched electrically when the door was opened.
Ours had every option including the built in CB and the automatic headlights. It was years before we ever owned another car that technically advanced.
Awesome car! We had a blue 1975 big bird which was pretty much the same model as yours. That was a really great car. A REAL car! It was very technically advanced for it's day.
Yeah, there are little things in that car that I had no idea were around in the 70's like headlamps that come on automatically in low light or darkness. Electrically adjustable seats, and so many vanity lights and reading lights, just lights everywhere in that car. I didnt think about that stuff when I rode in the back seat of it as a kid.
Those old T-Birds had the sickest engines in them! My father had a '72 with the S-bars on the side. I was only a baby at the time so those S-bars were what stuck out the most to me. That, and the shape of the front seat headrests.

I had a 74 Tbird just like that. Should never have sold it. I believe it had a 450 or 460 in it and got 8 MGP! LOL!

Awesome, I have a 1974 Ford LTD, but it's harvest gold with a dark brown vinyl roof.
Also, what size engine? Mine's a 400 V8

The engine is a 464 V8. My grandpa bought it new. The big engine is why he decided to keep it all these years.
