@warwith1n of course you shouldn't upgrade if you already own a 2600k lol you need a whole new mobo only a fuckin moron would upgrade from a 2600k what the fuck is wrong with you faggot *punches you in the face*
Is that including a GPU with the Six Core Solution? Don't tell me Intel is going Teamster Jimmy Hoffa we are a Traditional CPU Based Company, GPU's are not our priority vs. Cutting Edge Union Jack with AMD Vishera FX!
@asus3571 That new A-10 Trinity Looks to Maybe Even hit an ICore-7 Maybe no Haswell Until 2013! Level 3 Cache with an APU looks interesting with Vishera-VX, Faster CPU with all specs than A-10Trinity Pile Driver's Core CPU!
@VenatorFX2012 even though im an intel guy i hope ur right ive been wanting to do an amd build but their lackluster performance compared to intel has me on the fence
@asus3571 That A10Trinity Looks Sold to me verse an I-Core 5 or I-Core-7 maybe? Intel's Haswell looks interesting with that Clark Network Proccessing Unit, but AMD has Arm Processors Rdy in 2013 with their new APU units! Maybe Intel Needs to Sell Intel Haswell with Clarkdale NPU with Clear Wimax2 for Dell-Alienware after problems with ATI 5770 and Dell WiMax Rollout early! At least Gets Seatle, WA to throw a 4890 in there or scared of Lucid Logix Hydra hitting Bios of ATI!
@VenatorFX2012 yeah lucid hydra prob is worried but the fact of the matter is amd has a hell of a lot of work to dothey havent really had a good platform since athlon although the 1090t was pretty good i belive their memory controllers are jacked u seem to really know what ur talkin about but clarkdale is old news
@asus3571 What Sounds Old News Man is that Asus didn't Put that Xonar NPU and SPU on an Orochi FX proccessor if no GPU or PPU? Not Sure why Asus Doesn't want to Help Visiontek Killer HD 5770 put those cores in a Vishera FX Chip, no need for ARM in 2013, Put that as a Northbridge Chipset that does Multimedia Proccessing Unit similar to Nforce 2 ultra Asus has experience with that? Laptops have Afterburners On them man don't let MSI steal your sales with that 5670 or 4890 Die Shrunk with Vishera
No Rising Sun link ups here brother you need to take it to Cypress or VisheraFX! Haven't seen those Xbox720 or PS4 Surrogate Chicks thats what I mean for a Virtual laptop dancer for windos media center downlaods! Spy Detected by Spybot search & destroy, Ports + Sockets Closed by TimeSuit V
@asus3571 I'd keep taps on Asrock with CreativeLabs Blaster Fusion vs. Asus Xonar seems their the New Gun on the Market with the Letter A, on Vr-zone Asrock & Creative Blaster Fusion!
@asus3571 I'd Tell Asus to get Back to ART-X not AMD why no Lucid-Logix Hydra Fusioned with Orochi-FX makes sense! Question is to Asus why Intel Icore-7 has An Ati 5830, While Dell-Alienware ICore-5 is missing a 5770 inside during 2010 preemptive strike Clear Wimax4G with Dell & ClearWire!
im looking at replacing my c2d e8600 setup to a socket 2011 asus rampage iv extreme board, would this 3820 be good for gaming? i like the price and the support of 1600 ram and 4 channel
thanks for this guys, but saying its a "review" as well is pretty misleading. this was more of a history lesson and tech talk. which is fine, its just not what i thought it was.
What he didn't mention was the 4.75 GHz was on stock voltage. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that pretty much means this will do ~5.5GHz on ~1.5V
If this is cheaper than an i7-2700k? why bother getting one? I plan on gaming mostly and saving a few bucks would be great, especially considering i'm getting dual 7970's. I don't want to wait for Ivy Bridge either. This can be overclocked so whats the big difference?
@SammichThyme dual 7970's would be fine on LGA1155. If you want to save a few bucks, dont get SNB-E. Because the motherboards are more expensive for LGA2011 as he said, so you wont save yourself any money.
loved it, thumbs up. please post more pictures/videos to support your discussion using the green screen. it really can help a lot to solidify certain points.
Thanks for the video Anand, highly educational. I haven't been keeping up with the nitty gritty of hardware architecture over the past few years, I feel like you give me a good summary of recent history in a quick 15 minute lesson and do it often with these videos. It's a shame these videos don't get more views.
On a side note, I hate how that shirt contrasts with your face. It's distracting and it feels like it's fighting for attention in the frame. Maybe a slightly more subtle color?
PLEASE keep doing these, and more often. Great info, summed up very well....easier to wrap my head around the current status of CPU's now than reading 8 pages. (which I read anyway, this just helps tie it all together)
I still think the old i7 920's are one of the best launch cpu's of the last years. With a little overclock (3.4Ghz) it can still compare with a stock 2600k or 3820. My 920 is 3 years old right now!.
The 3820 is dissapointing. When you want a X79 platform the only intresting cpu is the 6 core 3930 witch is pretty expensive @ >€500.
Anand is hands down the best videoreviewer i've ever seen. His knowledge combined with his ability to speak clearly and in a well paced manner makes it easy listening, and he clearly does a good job on his script beforehand, but doesn't read i off a prompter (unless he writes it as he would speak, but it doesn't seem like he's reading off anyhing).
I also love his "studio", esthetically pleasing and clean without a sterile feel.
This Cpu sucks , Not much of an upgrade from a 2600k , I ended up going with the 3930K so much better for overclocking ,
