What kind of gear does the typical Canadian Army infantry squad carry? By that I mean weapons, do they use M16 rifles, what about squad machine guns? Were those L.A.W. rockets I saw on their backs? I'm just curious. It seems to me that if you have a smaller force you might be able to equip them better.
@uchio yes it was, and we use c7s and c8 rifles, which is pretty much the m16 and m4, and for machine guns we use the c9 and c6, and equping them better i don't really know, but i think where we don't have to train as many soldiers we put alot more time and money into training them.

@uchio This is probably a light infantry recon en-force. As the taliban don't have tanks and the terrain is dense they will not carry the heavier Karl G's. The colt-Canada C-7A2 looks much like the M-16A1 & A2, but has some differences, and some will say superior to the M-16's, its effective range is 400m. up to 600m fired at the squad level.
I've fired this gun many times, and it is outstanding, in perfect conditions I put 5 rounds into a nickel(5cents) sized target in <5 sec. at 300m

The British OR Canadian Military has not been "dropping". Britain is still known to have the best trained military in the world. Britain's basic military training is 26 weeks.. USMC is only 13 weeks... I laugh when I hear US Marines(13weeks) compared to Royal Marines(min 42 weeks).

Followed up by Canada, and I believe it was Russia or the U.S. or Australia that got third or forth but I barley rememeber, I just remember that we got top!!!

The British OR Canadian Military has not been "dropping". Britain is still known to have the best trained military in the world. Britain's basic military training is 26 weeks.. USMC is only 13 weeks... I laugh when I hear US Marines(13weeks) compared to Royal Marines(min 42 weeks).

Followed up by Canada, and I believe it was Russia or the U.S. or Australia that got third or forth but I barley rememeber, I just remember that we got top!!!

Even though our army was tiny and mostly a peacekeeping force. The Liberals did a great job of cutting spending for years before. Still we went in and kicked some ass with Good men. Still most of our equipment is over almost 40 years old.

But during 2000 or 2001 harper had the biggest millitary buy up since ww2 even bigger so during 2001 or we were second best now were considerd first. Best trained and best armed we didnt declare that our self. All troops our tough!
