No... What I feel he's talking about (and I believe) is like Karma. You put out energy that will be returned to you in other forms. You control where you put your energy, how much you put out, and whether it is positive or negative. Nothing is destined, but rather, if you put out positive energy, it has to be returned in a positive way. Maybe the way you want it to come back to you, isn't positive enough, for example. Or, it wouldn't balance out.
