I don't know why some folks think that is embarassing or something. You can do not like disco but people will always be people, even serious singers like to have fun. And that didn't change since creation of Alexandrov's choir, I think these first members of choir weren't rigid and would like to sing popular songs.

If you don't like this video not because music, then why? Theres no age or position what forbid you having fun. And if you think that was gay look at some soviet propaganda posters

И даже если до этого хор выступил неплохо, то этот эпизод испортил все впечатление. Не знаю сколько заплатили руководителям, чтобы они на это согласились, но это почти преступление. Не они этот хор создавали - не им его разрушать.

Although Alexandrov wrote pro Soviet songs, he was one of Russia's best musicians. I never thought I would live to see the day when the Alexandrov Choir would sing like this. I have seen the Soviet Choir before and it was interesting to notice a couple of Chekists standing near them. You can tell by looking at their eyes sometimes. Yes, the world has changed. (I am worried about America. We live in a more dangerous world today than we have lived under a cold war.) I liked this video.
