actually thats not true, if u watched that fight, itachi only fought sasuke to draw out orochimaru and then sealed orochimaru for good

and when sasuke used his final trump card (karin, that thunder dragon thing) to try and defeat itachi, itachi used his susanoo which blocked it and sasuke was helpless

the only reason itachi pushed sasuke so hard was to draw out orochimaru and after he sealed orochimaru, itachi stopped fighting even tho he couldve taken sasuke's eyes for himself
