Absolutely best Winter Classic to date. Less than 3 minutes left, Recchi gets the equalizer & all of Fenway is standing as if BIg Papi just hit a game tying HR. Then a couple minutes in OT & Marco Sturm, assisted from Zdeno & Bergeron, gets the game winner!!!

Philly went flat this year after Brière failed on the late game Penalty shot; I was pulling for the Flyers in that game but glad it didn't go into OT (2 points instead of 3). No worries, Bruins kick off another win streak vs. New Jersey~

Two teams that play the same brand of Hockey. It was no wonder that this game ended in a 1-1 tie at the End of Regulation. Flyers and Bruins should play every ew Year's Day on alternate playing fields. The Flyers came to Fenway last year on New Year's day, next year, let's go play the Flyers at Citizen's Bank Park.

@Jiltedin2007 That would be par excellent, but what is "ew Year's Day", mate? LOL. Well, you got half yer wish, only it was NY Rangers visiting & taking the 3-2 win. Bruins remain the only team in 5 Winter Classics to win at Home. Fenway Park, Best Park in America & 100 years & still standing... Pure history!!! A cathedral & living museum.

@jonLyndon I was referring to New Year's Day. Everyone makes a typo when typing, and I am also susceptible to one at times. And yes, anytime the Bruins and Flyers come together, the games are absolute classics. That is why I suggested that the Bruins and Flyers should trade off every New Year's Day on playing "The Winter Classic" in their alternate fields.

And I got news for you. Long after Yankee Stadium #10 has been taken down, Fenway Park will still be standing in Boston!

ppl, both bruins goalies kick ass! but in reality, with thomas not playin cuz of the olympics, tuuka rly stepped up and took it to the sabres. all i gotta say is, BRUINS OWN O BAD!!

what are you smoking? Are you one of tose pink hat bruins "fans" you make the rest of us look bad. Thomas was injured last half of the season... not to mention he is still an incredible goalie and would be a starter on about 15-20 NHL teams right NOW. not to mention, he still can be our starter THIS season if Rask has a sophmore slump too... My dad said he never saw me jump so high in excitement. When Recchi and Sturm scored I screamed as loud as I possibly could. What a great finish. You can't script a better hockey game

it sucks that watcing the tv versions later when i got home, it was soooo quiet. i mean, the fan experience is suppposed to be a huge part of the winter classic, yet they make it sound like we were asleep the entire game, even when the bruins scored...
