He ran in the recall, placed 3rd overall, ran against Garamendi in 2006 for Lt Gov and narrowly lost.

Well, it's good he won this last election for the House. It was pretty close.

He also ran for State Controller in 1994 and 2002 despite having been outspent 4 to 1 he narrowly lost having pulled the winner under 50% of the vote.
