I'm not the one who played it. The right has been playing that card for 40 years. Ronald Reagan gave his first campaign speech on "states rights" in Philadelphia, Mississippi (the site of Emmit Till's murder) -- it was the "southern strategy" and it was a direct appeal to racism. The nexus of red-baiting and racism has been around since before the Civil Rights Era but has been perfected since then by right-wing media.

Rationed care, poor service, long wait times? No that wouldn't be why so many Canadians come to the US for Medical treatment now would it

Last year over 300,000 Americans went abroad for medical treatments in Asia alone. "Medical tourism" is the fastest-growing sector of the tour agent industry.

Plus, I have family in Canada. For instance, my 93-year old grandmother who never faced a death panel and speaks glowingly of her free care. Or my cousin who's living the American dream at a LOWER tax rate.

Ever been to Canada? Apart from the accents, you'll feel like you never left the states...until you need health care.
