  • what's the average power consumption of a water cooling system?

  • @vito670

That will depend on what pump you use and fans.

  • @juggolo i'm still thinking about what to use , for example what is your power consumption

  • @vito670

I am using what i call an enthusiast setup I am using 2 mcp35x pumps 8 gentle typhoon fans, 4 on each 480 rad(2)

    mcp35x draw 1.5 amps

the fans does not take that much power.

I cant give you a definite power consumption but i can you this as long as you have a quality psu you will be fine

  • heatercore

  • @troyman1

    @juggolo

With those fans you would probably be best with a early 70, Dodge B100/200/300 hes=atercore

  • Would it even be worth my time to water cool if I'm currently running an i5-2500k at 4.6 with a single fan on a hyper 212+? Cheaper set up the better, what would be about the cheapest set up that I could possibly get for water cooling? I don't need gpus or chip sets for now, but I'd like to add the option for gpus in the future..

  • @BloodyRory

I don't see the point considering you can hit 5ghz with a decent air cooler with that processor.

  • @juggolo I guess, I would probably just do it for the fun of it, because I've found it more fun to mess with the inside of my computer rather than using it for games lol. I was looking at the XSPC Rasa 750 RS240 Kit and PrimoChill PrimoFlex Red Tubing (because I would like to replace the color of the tubing to go along with the red and black theme I have in my case). I posted a thread on OCN asking for the cheapest and that's what I was recommended, so I might just end up buying that..

  • @BloodyRory Depends. What are your temps, and could dust be an issue. I like liquid cooling because it means there is only 1 place to keep dust free (radiator... maybe the power supply also).

I would recommend using liquid on your cpu and when you plan to overclock your gpu or find your chipset running warm, get the addons then. Just remember to use fresh tubing when you change your setup (as wear and tear on the ends can cause leaks once the seal is broken)

  • @1troyman1

If you saw the first comment i made you probably got confused because i was trying to say he forgot to mention deltas in the video they are good (actually great).

And i was saying that ultra kazes are bad but i blended the sentences together and it looks confusing.

  • @1troyman1

    Deltas

    Scythe Ultra Kazes

I know that Deltas will last forever almost forever

But Kazes are a retail marketing gimmick where you buy this big fan and you think its awesome because it looks like a server fan but inside it has a sleeve bearing that is prone to failing quickly.

  • Cant beat koolance 30 fins per inch son of bitch beast rads, and 252cfm deltas

    Ho RA

  • @1troyman1

Gtx 360 rad would be a better choice if you have to use those fans. I would never get them I have enough cooling capacity. 2 rx480s

  • @juggolo yeh but im an epic overclocker, and want to reach records

  • @juggolo

I was saying you forgot to mention delta's not that there bad.

kazes might be fine for external water cooling where the long sides of the fans perpendicular to the floor but in internal water cooling the rad is usually mounted at the top of the case where the long sides fans are parallel to the floor which would allow for the oil to leak from the sleeve bearings and cause quick death.

plus feser is pronounced like phaser/facer goto feser-one(dot)com

  • @juggolo

Don't forget deltas and ultra kazes are bad because they use cheap sleeve bearings that wear out quickly.

    i have heard skinnee's reviews aren't reliable

also feser is pronounced like phaser

  • @Intanius

It is feser they even say it on there website. Deltas and kazes are fine. It is what some people of the water cooling community use. People say that skinne labs are not reliable because of what he did. Making a product look better than what is was.(he took a bribe)

  • @Intanius no, their server fans and they last for heaps long, and by the time they do frikne break u would have bought another 2 pc's by then

  • so, not a fan of the xspc rasa kit?

  • @thebeetalls

Not really does not have the expandability compared to a custom made one. Never bought a kit probably never will.

  • Will you advise the CM Excalibur to be used on the GTX series radiators? All the fans you talk about are not sold in Italy, and I prefer not to do mail orders for them. Also I don't see them as expensive for a push/pull configuration even on more than one radiator. How much a radiator between cpu out to gpu in can improve temperatures? What TIM is the best for GPU cooling?

  • @JagoTFC

I will send you a pm with a link where you can get the fans hopefully Cm overrates there fans ans is not really a good radiator fan at all. doing a push pull can help lower temps 3-5 degrees. Tim for gpus I use mx-3 or mx4.

  • Christ dude you know your stuff! Thanks so much for the video, not quite sure if anything has gone in because this is a new area for me, even though subbed and faved. Thanks!

  • @99macca

I have to if not I will find out. I am the water cooling editor at overclock(.)net

  • @juggolo Ok I will check out that website when it comes to watercooling my pc.

  • Cheers,, great info, thankyou

  • @aaainaaaa

Glad to hear it helped you out

  • thanx 4 the info.

    verry helpfull.

  • Very helpful video! Good job !

  • @ByteLaurens

    Thank you very much

  • Thanks so much for the great video on H2O cooling basics. REP+

  • This really is what I have been looking for thank you so much all my questions have been answered.

  • @papcrap2

Glad to be helpful:) Thank you for subscribing to:). If you have any questions feel free to contact me on here.

  • i can tell this was taken with your phone. good vid tho

  • @batch450r

    Nope, logitech hd c510

  • can't i just use the wirsbo/uponor system? since i actually have the 600 dollar tool? and use commercial duty pumps? or will it destroy the blocks?

  • @cal920c I guess you could do it. I don't see the point in using a commercial pump though.

  • @juggolo It runs 24 7 365 constantly cooling everything.

  • Great info keep it up!

  • @ComputerTechTV

    Thanks :P

  • A+, couldn't have said it better myself

  • Solid info man. I have to disagree on the Swiftech Hydrx though. It's proven to kill bacteria for up to 5 years, it doesn't gunk, and load temps are up to 8% cooler than plain water. Plus, dude it's $1.99 for a 2oz bottle. I mean that's super cheap. Yeah it's green, but if you don't want green, that's the only downside to it.

Think of it like putting water in your car's radiator versus actual radiator fluid.

I do agree with the feser one crap though. It's terrible, gunky, and pretty much crap.

  • @mhaneline

5yrs doesn't matter you are suppose to to maintenance on your loop 6months to 1yr max. I am already getting great temps so that stuff would be a waste. If they want to sell more product they would not of made it green and U/V reactive.

  • @juggolo I didn't mean you shouldn't change your water for 5 years bro. I'm just saying, that's how long the stuff works. I'm also not saying you can't get good temps without it. I'm just saying that it kills bugs better than anything else I've found, and if you don't care about it being green, it's cheap and hella effective. That's all :)

  • nice tutorial my friend

  • @getlow1985

    Thank much is appreciated

  • What do you think of the CPX Pro, the Liangs are overpriced. Also, I disagree with your rad choice; the PA 120.3 or Feser X Changer are probably the best 360mm rads, but the RS360 or MCR320 are by far the best bang for your buck. You also didn't mention shrouds or anything of that nature.

  • @Tmoney65413

Gtx is do your research sent you a pm with a link showing it.

The cp only does 211.3gph. Mcp655 does 317gph. Mcp355 does 120gph and great head pressure 22 psi.

  • @juggolo Let me rephrase about the rads; if you don't want a wind tunnel in your case, don't get a GTX. As for the pump, I know the Laing's are better, but the DP1200 is fine for 90% of water loops.

  • @Tmoney65413

I rather pay the extra cash for a better pump that is good and allows for expandability, Plus on OCN we sell used wc parts and more to. So a new water cooler can save some cash

  • @juggolo I'm a member of OC3D, but good deals never seem to be around when I need them.

  • @Tmoney65413 Come to OCN they have great deals there check the for sale sections.

  • nice thanks for the video

  • @Luisml8

    Thank you:)
