  • may that girl never lose her sway.

  • i love very much those photographs of boys for pélé. Who did them ?

  • @guiguilerennais They were done by Cindy Palmano, who was responsible for all of Tori's album photography from Little Earthquakes through Boys For Pele.

  • @SilverBuddha

thank you, darling . boys for pélé 's pictures are so strong, mysterious and poetic. i enjoy this long live Delirium.

    :-*

  • Long live Delirium

  • love it!!! love tori, love neil!!! love delirium and love death!

  • God , Neil, I need you NOW!! Where are you? I don't even know your phone number...

  • Neil? Neil who?

  • Neil Gaiman.

  • For everybody who like a singer or a band like Jonas Brothers will be sorry when they get older cause they song will become a crap.Take a look like Vanilla Ice.Even the singer was take the CD and smash it..Hahahaha...

So start looking a singer/a band/and a song that inspired you most. Not to just make u happy and make u missing someone.

    Im sorry guy's,no offence,it's true...

    "LUST" is my fav song.

    Peace ya'll.

  • Guys, I've started to read Sandman after listening to this song. The first three volumes of the series in four days, bloody hell! I haven't met Delirium yet, but Desire in the second volume is absolutely amazing (as well sister Death, as well of course Sandman). It's amazing when an artist that you love makes you love something else or somebody else's work. I feel richer now!

  • vins1979: That's so great! Neil is a genius! The only bad ting now is that you will find yourself compelled to spend LOTS of money acquiring his books! :) SANDMAN was just amazing. Enjoy it and check out some of his other stuff, like Stardust (which was made into a delightful film that hardly anyone saw). I've been a Neil fan because of Tori for about 15 years now. Amazing books and music form these two!! (And the THB with Del is so fun!!)

  • my love for tori amos is unconditional

  • Love this song!

  • pure art!! my ears love you tori !!!!

  • I was listening to Suede earlier today,it's such an amazing song and I thought; why doesn't the world get this, what's wrong with them? Why can't they hear this genius?

  • I love "Suede" too. We can't expect everyone to like what we like. I'm sure the Jonas Bros. fans feel the same ;-) I'm glad there's something out there for everyone. But not many who know much about composing and performance can say that Tori isn't incredibly gifted.

  • I know I can be a little blinkered regarding Tori but I do appreciate your comment on respecting difference. I have no issue with the Jonas Brothers et al however it must be so frustrating for an artist of Tori's calibre to rank second to so many lesser talents. I had the good fortune to be able to meet her before her Dublin concert in '05 and tell her I'd been to her first and second concerts in Ireland. Her response interestingly was "and its all been downhill since".

  • This is a great song! where are these pictures from? Is it a set...or is it real?

  • I'm sorry I don't understand your question, "Is it a set or is it real". I'll watch again and see what i can see. It looks like some of the art from Boys for Pele, if that helps?

  • OK i was able to watch up til 3:23. These are all outtakes (except at 48 seconds, that was used for the cover of "Caught A Lite Sneeze" CD single). I see what you mean now - yes these would be REALLY disturbing if we didn't know that they are posed, since we know that Tori was assaulted many years ago.

So, to answer your question, yes this is a "set" - actually posed pictures for the CD art. Not Tori lying in a field hurt.

  • I hadn't really considered that anyone could take these photos to be "real". A little naive on my part probably, but to me they're so obviously staged, at least in the context of the whole montage sequence. Looking at the video again I see that at least four of the shots( 1:26, 2:04, 2:42 and 3:21) have a certain unsettling voyeuristic quality. I always thought that those photos were uncomfortable to look at, but I think I underestimated the reason why this is so.

  • I guess people who don't have "Pele" or haven't seen the CD singles might think that. I remembered them all as being shot around that time, but wow, it has been 13 years since Boys For Pele came out.

Your comment makes me think that that's what Tori was going for. They are really vulnerable & in the context of her life experiences can be uncomfortable. But in "Talula"'s lyrics she sort of "owns it" - "i've got my rape hat on honey but I always could accesorize". She's OK. He didn't break her!

  • Will someone who actually knows the answer to my question, be kind enough to respond.

  • I'm sorry, I don't know.

  • No this song makes reference to Neil Gaiman's work (he is a writer and a close friend to Tori I don't know if you're aware of that) One of neil's character is name Delirium and is partly inspired by Tori and Delirium has a sister named Desire

  • Just a note, Desire is also Delirium's brother. (Me and the details, sorry. I just had to correct since I just love the fact about Desire that it's a s/he.)

  • Desire totally creeps me out,

I would be funny if this song was named A Sister/Brother Named Desire.

  • Aww... I think Desire is just one of the best characters ever. <3

And that title would be the best! :D

  • So, is this song a part two to sister Janet?

  • No it is not. It is Desire of the Endless from the Sandman comic by Neil Gaiman

  • Thank you.:0) That sounds interesting.

  • Yeah, ZeropointLibra is right. Her and Gaiman seem to be buddies, and she's referenced his work a couple of times in her songs.

  • And vice versa

  • Yes, they are - she put his name in a song (Tear In Your Hand... "if you need me me and Neil'll be/Hangin' out with the Dream King/Neil said hi by the way..)before they met and someone handed Neil a copy of Little Earthquakes. He said he loved it and they got in touch and have been friends ever since! People think that Delirium is based on Tori... she wasn't to begin with but i think she did seep in a bit later. And he did make her a tree.. in "Stardust". Lovely!

  • Amazing! I didn't know all of that, but it makes me like both of them MORE. Great artists, befriending great artists! :D

  • Tori does sexy so well!

  • reminds of Yes, Anastacia but I love it

  • No, it's more 'Not The Red Baron'.

  • such an underrated song. beautiful.
