First, you have to download an mp4 file to your computer. Then attach the cable (that you can use to charge your iPod from your computer) to the computer, and the iTunes window should open. Then go to movies (under the device list), click on it, and when you click and drag the mp4 from your computer to the movies window, it should download. Let me know if that doesn't work.
