about research and development. the reason they don't test alternative cures is because they can't patent a plant and make billions. there's no incentive to cure people of diseases or ailments. just imagine if an apple cured some disease. they couldn't charge you a prescription for apples or charge you 20 dollars an apple because it grows out of the ground. If a herbologist told you eat apples the fda would arrest them for practicing without a MD. MD's are trained by their literature.

the fda made it against the law to treat or cure a disease with anything other than a drug. only a drug they say can treat or cure a disease. the fda can make laws without going through congress. talk about an avenue for corruption. not one fda approved drug has ever cured a single disease. most if not all have caused other side effects so they can prescribe you more drugs. this is true for even nonprescription drugs. an example is cough syrup will give you asthma.

a couple billion is nothing to them. they will just get the fda to approve another drug and make more billions. both the fda and these drug companies should be taken out of practice for being a harm to society.

Yes you make a great point. It seems cheaper to pay a fine than it is to perform necessary research and development.

$2billion dollar fine verses for example $10 billion in research and development. It makes profitable sense. Pity the patient suffers from short cuts at the end. But do they care?

When we talk about this country, we must know the lobby money will and does control this country and its govenment. My health does not matter, but filling pockets does. Ive been a diabetic for 52 years. After 49 years of pork insulin with an a1c of about 6, I went to humalog insulin and for two years had an a1c of about 8.7 and lost much of my eye sight. Once finding pork insulin in canada-made by Worckhardt and sold in canada, my sight has improved and h1c's have came back to near normal.

52 years is a tuff journey with diabetes.

I can only hope for our younger generation this wont be repeated.

I should say lobbying also has a shady existence here in Australia. I dare say most countries.
