  • Anyone know what tool that was he used to hollow out the helmet? He goes in with it after using the knife.

  • @Slothboy3000 Looks like a chisel

  • @Geoxile Cool, thanks.

  • learning modeling is awesome improve my gupla skills :D

  • If only this were in English so that I can understand better....

  • while watching this i realized how much i love gundams i also came to terms with being an otaku its a sad day when i have to come to terms with this

  • what series is this? seed?

  • @vietsoldier01 yea but the calamity they are building is the one from gundam seed astray

  • i dont understand ? dont u sjust buy a gundam and putting all the pieces together?

  • @MangaFTW96 If you want to be lazy and keep it looking like an overpriced toy. The stickers and the plastic move it away from being a 'model'

  • at 9:02 why does he cut/scrape plastic off of that piece?

  • @Hermdo

hes scraping off excess plastic from when he bonded the seam

  • That gundam looks really similar to the Lancelot from code geass. especially the backpack and the two swords. gundsm ftw

  • What was the point of cuting out all those chunks in the peices, aside from ez removal? and y it need ez removal?

  • without a doubt japan will be the first country to possess a large military purpose mech and declare all out war

  • how do we know the dont have one already?

  • @yorokue yea its probably set in stealth camo

    automatically

  • @tharbk01 yep and we will nuke there ass like did before

  • @tharbk01 I hope so! I'll become a pilot!

  • what's in that bowl he dips the sandpaper in?

  • water

  • @biboytoy SAKE! - He likes to get "soaked"! :-D

  • why do theykeep cutting the peices and like carving them. when they are about to put a peice together

  • you usually shouldnt cut the piece directly off the runner. If you do, you create these awful marks that are hard to get rid of. If you clip a little bit away from the actual piece like how he does at 2:40 then clip the nub off. its much easier to sand the markings off if you do that

  • It makes it easier to pull apart if you want test-fit, prime, and paint your models. You could also drill the female holes larger with a pen drill.

  • @bakuganruler500 The reason it that they want to make life easier for them so they cut some sprews off so they can pull it out easier then they are put together(Purpose for painting and cleaning)

  • what kind of sandpaper is the one used here? I haven't seen something like that..

  • umm no idea but I use testors sandpaper and it works just fine

  • Comment removed

  • english man english dang

  • i can't understand a thing but the video is so cool

  • anybody know if using sand paper on the gundam leaves any unwanted scratch marks or anything of that sort

  • it does but if you're going to paint it wont matter

  • it does but u can paint over it so it should be fine

  • It won't show at all IF you sand from rough to smoother and wet sanding. Then you give it a nice Surfacing primer. Then you paint it with your choice of color then it will look like an unscratched perfection.

  • umm...sorry but i dont really know what you mean by sand from rough to smoother and wet sanding. and nice surfacing primer. could you explain plz?

  • Rough as in. The Grit is like 180 to a smoother grit. Then you water sand when you're done with sanding to your smoothest grit. And a nice primer would be a Mr. Surfacer 1200.

  • oh ok. thank you. i suppose the parts that i still dont get would be because im not really a pro modeler XD but an amateur

  • It is really easy to understand pro techiniques and become a pro plamodeler. All you need a is a nice expensive good airbrush. I recommend Itawa and then you'll look like a pro. A lot of people have a hard time getting the airbrush than buying the gundam kit and paints.

  • lol "hi i have a air brush! im a pro!" thanks a lot. good thing the place where i buy gundams sell almost all hobby tools i know of

  • needs subs :P

  • OR a hot japanese mail order japanese teacher.... both work XD

  • translations would be good but this is a really good vid

i miss building gundams so much, havent made one for years =/ brings back memories =P

  • Thanks for uploading this, it was interesting to watch even though it's Japanese ( I can't understand ) + I don't do this, it just looks cool XD

  • You're not doing any of us a favor trying to prove your point by being a racist. You've pretty much just validated their point.

  • You're right it doesn't make you perfect, but it does make you ignorant. Maybe you should think about it before you write shit like that.

  • why the fuck do people get mad when i confuse chinese with japanese? i dont know the language retards! what? just because you know it , it means i need to know it to?

this goes to the stupid fucks that get mad when i confuse a language i know nothing about. im not perfect. im human.

  • ..amen

  • Comment removed

  • You can't tell the difference of chinese and japanese, do you?

  • well maybe its because im not japanese or chinese im latino. thats just me but idk.lol=)

  • even though your fucking stupid yourself, and i could give a fuck! im suppost to know every language they put in my face? your ignorant yourself for taking time out of your pitty life to "insult me"...im just defending myself pussy face

  • yeah really. wtf. why is it a big deal. you people act like three year olds. miizter didnt even do anything wrong. you guys just think your the best thing since sliced bread because you can tell the difference? no your not. so go in a corner and cry now

  • So you use sand paper to get rid of the marks that's in the gundam? 6:29

  • McCement Delux!!!!! XD

  • thats wet sanding right?

  • it is awsome

  • i don quite like calamity the pilot is nuts

  • is this gundam custom made?

  • I notice that there are letters before the number. what do these mean?

  • What grade of sand paper is that!?

  • says "600" on on the back (6mins 24seconds in)

you can use anything from 400 to 1200

  • Wait did he add something to the last leg before sanding? After the cement it looked like he applied something...

  • He just sanded it down so that it got rid of the seem.

  • That doesn't really work. You usually need cementer, glue, or compound to get rid of seams for good.

  • i get it the swords calamity is a conversion kit for the model kit itself

  • Yes but where did he get it?

  • Lol, in the beginning, gundam models were just a way for bandai to make people watch the show :D

  • whats the point in building but not using

  • You gotta put your gundam in a cool pose before you display it don't you thats what I do. :D

  • Gundams were never a toy, they're models. ...(ok they're toys, but AWESOME toys)

  • once gundam was just a toy and now......

  • if you just painted the face first, assembled the head, masked the face, you could then fix the seams and paint the rest of the head. That's how I've always done it.

And really, almost nothing is impossible with practice and the right tools. =) Get a nice airbrush, paintable masking liquid, and some fine paintbrushes and markers, and your painting will not be a problem.

  • Yeah, you could do that, but it's just so much easier to slide in the face

  • May I add that SAFARI SUCKS, it kept saying my comment wasn't posted, yet there it is, nice and stupidly double posted.

Anyway, how is sliding it in easier? you have to do major modifications to make it slide in and then it's only held together by glue.

  • It's easier because you don't have to worry about messing up. What if you masked crappily and you mess it up. And then taking out the masking tape is a hassle. Sliding it in doesnt require a major mod either, it's actually a pretty minor mod. And to answer to your last point, it's not held together by glue, it's held together by plastic cement, so the 2 parts become one, just as secure

  • waaaaiiiittttt..........

did the sword parts come with the model or they separate and you have to kit bash?

  • They came with an issue of Hobby Japan magazine.

  • God, there are thousands of english speaking Gunpla fans... would someone please sub these tutorials... have watched many and are all in japanese ;) Thanks for posting anyway, these are great :)

  • no subtitles?

  • can anyone pls teach me how to paint gundam model... msg me plsss

  • look at part 4 or 5

  • GAT-X133 is frm Gundam Seed MSV...

  • why bother?

  • can somebody please explain what he did with the face after he was nibbing male edges so it could come appart easier? After that he was coloring in stuff with a black gundam marker and cutting it off. what was that?

  • This is so that the face could be removed for painting etc. without disassembling the Helmet. Since the helmet needs to be cemented together to seal parting lines, it would be impossible to paint the face if it is stuck inside.

  • This surprised me because it's completely unnecessary. I think it's because japanese want to do everything in order. they cut all the parts first, then paint, then assemble. But if you just painted the face first, assembled the head, masked the face, you could then fix the seams and paint the rest of the head. That's how I've always done it.

And really, almost nothing is impossible with practice and the right tools. =)

  • So he can slide in the face.

  • I have never seen that Mr. Cement, i use tubed Hobby glue and i find pins and straightened paper clips or something fine pointed or very thin work better than brushes. You can use model paint and dab a little on a pin but fine markers are recommended.

  • where can you get gundam except internet

  • Intresting. Does anybody have a translated one or a full video (all the parts of the video on YouTube) for download?

  • that white board that he was using to hold the sand paper what is the name of that?

  • Looked like cardboard, he only used it to keep the sand paper flat.

  • He turned an $8 Sword Calamity into....couple hundreds?

  • I wish this was in english

  • what series is it from

  • GAT-X131 is from Gundam SEED

GAT-X133 is from Gundam SEED Destiny.

  • I think this is for experts. I'm a beginner so I don't have a clue what's up

  • no this is medium like, i got one who is expert and omg my wanted to burts right away when i first saw the PIECES O DAMN SO MANY!!

  • No surprise, dude. I'm expected to get my Aile Strike Gundam today and I'll get started on it as soon as I get it. Making a Sword Calamity Gundam out of a Regular Calamity Gundam takes a lot of work.Who'd thought the instructions would definitely pay off.

  • The pieces do not matter in a Gundam. Only the skill of the crafter.

  • Can you make a video of making of a HG Rick Dom II and i wanted to build it and i've just bought it off of ebay for $8.00 and $7.60 for shipping

  • He's showing basic techniques, so I'd advise you just follow the construction booklet.

  • I think the cutting up the leg and head parts were so that when you paint the head you don't have to paint both halves separately or have to mask the face in order to paint the lines. That way you can have a seamless helmet and paint the face separately without having to mask it

  • how 2 get dat modify thing

  • question.... why did they mnodify the joint on the head?

  • As y0shi18 already said, so you can put in and take out parts without having to disassemble the whole thing. quite useful for painting and getting rid of parting lines.

  • Hey if you have a video of the makeing of an MG Wing Zero Custom I would really appreciate I bought it awhile ago and I wanted too build it right now seeing these videos I would like too follow the steps of a master model builder thanks

  • i don't have a gundam marker for the lines, can i use any fine marker?

  • regular fine markers don't "stick" to the plastic

  • If you can find a fine-tipped CD marker, that would usually work. The alternate method also demonstrated in later vids, diluting black paint with thinner so that it would run down the lines.

  • The glueing process needs 2 to 3 days...in other words glue it, then leave it for 2 to 3 days amd then sandpaper it

  • its do that you can put in/take out the parts without having to open the outer casing..

  • 600 grit sand paper was used i beleive. Can somone explain to me why the head and leg parts were cut up?

  • Thank you soOooo much for making this video. Please post more tutorials. This is really good for beginners like myself ^^. Please show us more techniques! Video tutorial ftw! =)

  • what grit do u use grit sand paper???
