  • Very nice. Environment-friendly.

  • your video is fantastic, thanks for sharing

  • We have to discover a lot of new rare earth mines to have this stuff in the average house hold below 25,000 EUR :)

  • you mean we don't need acid anymore?

  • Most fake laugh ever.

  • joke!

  • omg this woman bad actor!

  • What Year is this going to be out??

    NoV - 07 - 2010 is today date

    So are we looking at

    2012-2026

Which year do you thank it will be out?

  • yall need to get a tripod

  • This is cool.

  • hahhahahah the actors sound all fake

  • I believe its LCD, LED and AMOLED can't make opaque pixels only LCD. Remember there are some cheap calculators with transparent display and when you turn on the numbers turn into opaque thats because LCD is a liquid that can change its strucuture under specific circumstances...

  • But can it polarize light? I know that the OLED is the cheapest and versatile. It'll probably replace most of the screens over the world, but there are some properties that only LCD can do like being able to polarize light under an eletric current.

  • yes.

  • DO WANT!

  • yup, this is going on my Christmas list.

  • IS THIS SHIT REAAAAAAAAAAL?

  • Yes, it is real, and amazing. My father is a journalist, and he was at this event. He got to give a try himself.

  • Is this made by Philips electronics (tv's, etc). Or Philips industries (the window, and door manufacturer)?

  • electronics

  • Ah, i see. I once worked for Philips Industries. I sealed up the panes of glass before they went into the window frame. Based on the way they treat their employees, i personally wouldn't buy any of their products.

  • My youtube have been hijack! I never ever posted a comment here... Sorry for the rude idiot how posted in my place.

  • WITCHCRAFT!

    burn everything and everyone!

  • is the background the real outside? well i don´t believe so but if it is it would be totally awesome and great :) how nice would it be to blacken your windows in just a second :)

  • I think so :D

its even better that it runs on solar power :D

  • yes, that is an actual, working demo window. The ' city view' you see is a stage set a few yards behind this window.

  • Terrible.

  • brilliant :]

  • and then windows crashes and you got blue screen as window

  • All I can say is I WANT ONE!

  • cool!where are there???

  • Omg that is so cool!!! Just imagine being on some good acid. I'd mess with it for hours!!

  • totally

  • well now.....I think its official folks, the things we saw in those old, silly "house of tomorrow" cartoons, are finnally becomign reality, its amazing really, things like this that people could only dream of happining many many years ago, are now becoming reality.

  • Holy canoly!

  • Wow...

  • Oeh, I would like to have such a window in my room, that would be great :D Than it would always look like the weather is fine, even in the Netherlands =P

  • kool

  • in fact this is not very difficult to make. its all midi stuff. if u undertand midi good and have such a creativity, u can make it!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lol... maybe you can control it trought midi... it doest make sense to do so really , it most probably as its own propriatary communication protocal.. and the " screen " or window is so not related to any midi technology :)

  • what about, u connect 4 monitors or sumthing like this, then u connect in a computer as a sequencer, and u controll with midi some fucking presets u make. thats what i ment with midi, otherwise of course its not everything midi, but the controlling thing with hands and stuff is midi. there are light sensors wich trigger certain midi channels and so on. its cool creativity, thats it, but nuthin special to make..... this is just a philips set(wich i love).i can build sumthin like this as well!!!!!

  • man, this is just a philips set offer. otherwise its not hard to built sumthin like this. all it matters is the quality of the window(screen), and i can make sumthin very very similar to this. if u would see stuff in my house u would believe me. mb this is not how i think, but again i can make in my own the whole thing like this. i know a way via midi!!!!!!!!!!(but ofc its not everything midi, just controlling stuff it is!!!)

  • Damn. I wonder if that sort of stuff will be normal in like 20 years.

  • cool but i bet only a few would actually be able to afford it so. . . .

  • very nice :))

  • maldita sea, no he visto nada que supere esto, en mucho tiempo, gracias tecnologia

  • that's awesome!

  • i want this in my house now =]

  • what about a window into a real garden with real shadow spending trees and fresh air???

  • On the 23rd floor of a skyscraper? Good luck! That's what this is really for.

  • I want one! That way I can set it to be 12 noon in the morning, and I'll think it's noon! :P

  • I love you guys...

  • does anyone know how I could find out which hotels have these windows (if any)!

  • OH, I bet that its just an LCD screen, over-laid, and the light form the window passes through, and it has a motion capture camera imbeded in the window somewhere. I want one though.

  • Pretty technology, but what about having REAL WINDOWS????

  • is this a total fake wall or is is a light fighting over a window - i am confused lol

  • This is "just" a mix of new technology (like Funky Forest for Kids). Philips is developing a lot in the direction of the light: they have also t-shirt with mini-leds (called Lumalive).

I'll not post any link here (don't want to be marked as a spammer) but if you are interested search in google "15 Stunning Cutting-Edge Gadgets and Technologies", you'll find something awesome.

p.s. sorry for my bad english :-)

  • THANKS &BTW YOUR ENGLISH IS FINE !!

  • thanks a lot for ur sharing!!^^

  • no problem :)

  • Wow i want one in my bedroom too!!! It's so cool!!!

  • I need one ^-^ It's probably super expensive....

  • my sister is getting light therapy cos her doctor recommended it she just has a square box made by philips in her room and it's supposed to help her not feel depressed lol

  • Seasonal Affective Disorder?

  • wow

  • Wonderfull, but Id love to see how it works.

Seeing as he said "it goes darker for privacy" that shows its a real window. So some sort of projected thing ontop? But then...you cant project darkness! Must be LiquidCrystal/polerisation based?

  • onry five dorraw!

  • that silly play was not necessary and awkward. a clean, straightforward presentation would have been much better.

  • Yeah. They are following Micro$oft's way of "situational" presentations.

In this case, the presentation is targeted to hotel owners.

  • yea me too. utterly pointless, but i need it.

  • i want one!
