I used to like this music, about three years ago I listened to it regularly. Coming back to it after all this time, well, it doesn't say anything to me any longer.
Taking an honest look at it, it is nothing but sound without anything behind it. It is depthless.
My mistake of those days back, was considering originality and avantgardism as a quality in itself, when it is not.
@mihaimarinescu88 aw man that sucks to hear Dillinger is one of the most original and creative band i know they never fail to blow my mind but to each his own i suppose and i could never get tired of these guys because they have put me on one of the greatest musical experience ever
@mihaimarinescu88 Most sincerely I used to listen to mathcore back when the days were shit and the girls were heartbreakers, it helped a lot and meant a lot. As time grew by and so did I, screaming all the way lost some of it's meaning, but still I see avantgardism and originality as good factors, to get away from the common place, which most people tend to point towards. Or maybe I just like dissonance as much as I like consonance.
Peace Out, I undestand how you feel towards mathcore now.
@mihaimarinescu88 i understand how you feel about this genre. and i did the same thing with nu metal. i abandoned it. it just doesn't make that spark with me like it did when i was younger. anybody who is showing negativity towards you in anyway is a hypocrite. We all, at least in one point in our lives, turned our backs on something and moved on to something new.
@dylan110896 Yes, you are right. It is natural that we all better define and discriminate in our tastes what we like and don't like- especially later in life.
You are right about the spark thing. I do not say that DEP are musically and technically talentless- they really know how to play those instruments. But I fail to find any essence to it all.
@0bir0nkenobi listen to the album calculating infinity the first song i heard from them was 43% burnt then back track and listen to their older stuff from under the running board
@ninjarooper SO YOU LIKED BEING SHOUTED AND SCREAMED AT I SEE! AS OPPOSED TO ACTUALLY HAVING A POWERFUL AND NICE SOUNDING VOICE THAT MAKES WORDS SOUND MORE MEANINGFUL THAN THEY ARE! Shouting words too music... they might aswel be the fans singing... that said i hate screamo bands.
@ninjarooper Love too, but you keep responding and i dont want to be rude and not give a response back :)
That and i thought i'd give them a chance after watching them perform live and thinking "Can a rock band really sound that bad?" So listened to afew studio version instead... i was right :)
@clangersrule I understand you're just trying to light some fans fuse, but what you're saying is just too fucking stupid to ignore. Honestly Dillinger is one of the best live bands out right now, if not the best. It's just a fact. It's a shame you can't listen to anything that you can't tap your foot to perfectly in 4/4. Obviously Rebecca Black is easier to listen too. Lmao. You're right about that one. Dillinger isn't about being easy to listen too.
@ddrmasters Its not about lighting fans fuses, its just personal preffernce and opinion (fyi, i dont like rebecca black, though it IS easier to listen too, in comparison this is a mess) I just dont get screamo, and whether it has a repetitive beat is irrelivant to music taste... unless you like dance.... or dubstep...
@ddrmasters Feedback, bands who want to progress an become more popular to more people take note of it. Unless they're quite happy where they are, then they'll stay their and nothing changes. However some singers/bands don't deserve popularity at all (lady gaga) but in this case, the bands fine, but i cant stand his screaming... or any, if you're going to sing, sing :) that is all.
@clangersrule This isn't screamo, do you even know what screamo is.... just because it has screaming doesn't mean it's screamo. It's mathcore, it's supposed to have a complex rhythm and isn't supposed easy to understand....
@clangersrule hey everyone! this man is right! it is sooo much easier to understand rebecca black's music in comparison to DEP. But I like this because the difficulty in this makes for good listening!
love this song. love this band. love how dillinger can make a natural disaster in a real emotional song... it's a open declaration that the real musical expression isn' t dead yet!
I prefer Dillinger's older stuff but this is still amazing.
