  • Pink Panther theme was going through my head while watching this. ;-)

  • Good work.

  • Looking good.

  • awesome job on the build i hope it works great for you.take care

  • @michael970 Thanks!

  • Doesn't seem like it works at the end.

  • @LuiNJae We haven't had much wind. I'll be hooking it up to the data logger and see if anything comes of it.

  • @Caleb6543 Well you do awesome work!

  • @LuiNJae Thank you very much!

  • That's a neat configuration. I can't wait to see you holding the pole in 30mph winds as you give it the first real world test. ;-) BTW, I never saw anyone cut cores that way. This is the way I learned to do it --> Vid KZl8XqC3c1Y . He used a weight to pull the bow but it can also be done manually. Do the side closest to the table surface first. Comes out near perfect if the wire temp is right.

  • @Fearlessthinker Yeah, the fixed bow didn't work as well as I had hoped. I ran into problems around the nose because one side would go around before the other and the wire cut into the leading edge of the blade. I promise to do it the right way next time. :-)

  • @Caleb6543 When we cut foam model airplane wings of this size, we place the airfoil template forward 0.25-inches from the vertical edge of the foam core block, resulting in a square leading edge once cut. We then glued-on a 0.25" square balsawood leading edge with white glue, and then sanded it to shape. This makes the leading edge stronger and less prone to dings. Glad you are having fun.

  • @Fearlessthinker I'll be sure and get some video of me holding the pole if we ever get a good blow like that. :-)

  • Why did you not use your computerised foam cutting machine?

  • @definitionofis The CNC machine can only cut a 24" long blade and I wanted these to be 31" long. Also, I wanted to do it in a way that anyone could duplicate. In the future, I think I'd rather use a CNC.

  • Really nice work again

You keep surprising us every time

    Keep it up :-)

    Greetings from Belgium

    Erik

  • @rikkiesix Greetings to you too!
