I had a question about HTC. A long time back I had a HTC Diamond that ran WM 6.1 and it was horrible, slow, and overheated and rebooted alot. Has HTC improved their hardware and reliability since then? Thanks.

For those yet to get a Desire. All the new models have Super LCD screens rather than AMOLED ones. Also, voice search now works on the phone providing it has the latest Android 2.2 running on it.

keep freezing... losing text, miss calls sent straight to answer machine, GPS looses signal, 3g cuts off, goes to car mode when is not in the car or connected to the car, answers on its one terms in loud speaker (embracing) open one text and it opens a completely different one and so on so on... .. not working as it shows on the box!!! anyone with the same problem??? if it did work is a fantastic phone!!!

I have it, it's a great phone but the battery is bad. I charge it every day and i got pretty much every thing disabled when not using. I used to have an iphone 3g and i must say the iphone os is still ahead in terms of being user friendly, and works more smoothly no lags whatsoever . My desire is also very smooth but sometimes works faster and sometimes slower and the android crashed a few times already. Iphone's os is still a lot more reliable and flawless.

@lollolzlolx they both have a 1 ghz snapdragon processor but the hd2 has about 100mb less ram... on the other hand its made for entertainmetn so it plays movies and stuff of that nature way better than the desire so it depends what you like if your more of a movie person (even tho watching movies on your phone ist too useful unless u take long drives) or just somebody who likes a good smartphone. id go with the desire since it also plays movies just not aswell... go to htc.com and compare 4 info

In terms or performance AND style - would you recommend the Desire or Legend?

I know both are fairly similar, and I'm not that bothered about the extra crap like animated backgrounds etc.

I'd like something fairly good looking and also quite powerful for multitasking purposes and the internet. I know Desire is much more powerful and the screen is larger but the Legend is better looking but also has some good specs so I'm quite confused.

the htc desire is all the money worth. My friend is working for a big phone company and we have tried all the touch models at his house. And htc desire is way faster than the iphone g3 for ex. The internet part of the desire is the fastest smartphone on the marked. Try to youtube htc desire vs iphone... you'll see that most critics would recommend desire in overall judgement.

I can get a Desire on Amazon for less than £400, though I'm going to wait for my contract to end in a couple of months and see what's available, hopefully i'll be able to get the Desire..

No Probs. Yeah the iphone 4 is madness. It'snot as good as the hype and price suggests. £500 spent on a phone is madness. The only reason i would want an iphone is because i have itunes and probably more apps but that's about it really. Plus the new iphone has reception problems which can be ''fixed'' by a bumper case and that may not be a great result! The Desire would be good for you!

@SMOOODY13 hello! Man, N900 actually freezes when you place more than 5-10 apps. Great hardware, but the OS is pretty sloppy, plus the display is resistive.

I'd go for a Desire or... a 3GS. :)

Last October though, I got an HTC Desire HD :):) I got it the week it was available & it is simply outstanding!! iPhone is hopeless compared to it!! Never lags, though I needed a task killer & case which was easy to get. Never froze or broken down, and seeming as i'm on in 24/7, and drop it all the time, its brilliant! Camera is slightly disappointing after my last phone, but the HTC Desire HD is simply the best phone EVER! :)
