And in the end they won the biggest game that you can possibly win in the NFL. The US soccer team winning this award is just an example of still being caught in the moment. It's the most recent memory.

A big reason it won't change anytime soon is due to the fact that the only soccer that we really get here (that's live) is MLS. Which is basically the equivalent to the Canadian Football League in terms of soccer quality. The WC is a rare time in the US when you get to see the highest quality of soccer played live.
