i remove avg 8.5 free edition so i can put trend micro antivirus but it seems that when i install trend micro it keeps stoping giving me a message saying to remove avg 8.5 when i had already remove it i go install/unistall programs avg still there but now when i click to unistall/remove it gives me this message: Installer initialization failed due to following error: Error: @AvgErrorCode_0x0253 %FILE% = "C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\AVG8"@AvgErrorCode_0­x0020 can anyone help thanks : D !!

tnx 4 the mess back.....the avg is not (i followed every step).....under the software.....but if i click on computer then program files(x86),i find avg.....try 2 delete it tells me it can't because a file is open.........try to find ....shit...no luck.......something else i can do?...............mil's of thx

I have Windows 7, and I'm trying to uninstall AVG 8.5, but it won't let me uninstall AVG Identity Protection. Will this get rid of that for me?

If uninstall fails you must manually remove. It's a real pain. Start/search all files and folders named AVG. Pass cursor over list to make sure all are Grisoft files. Edit/Select All/Delete. Can't remove 'avgupdsrv.exe'? Don't panic. Start/run. Type 'services.msc' into field. Click OK. Click over 'AVG Update Service' and choose 'Stop'. You can now go back and delete it. Let me know if I missed anything.

Just delete the AVG folder at the Registry Editor after deleting the other values :)

Thanks youngster I will use that next time I get a service call. AVG tends to slow down your system and it gets infected. I have seen it several times in 2008.

it really help thanks man! that really my problem because when i uninstall AVG "Just expired" when i try to install Kaspersky pro it says that avgs.... blah blah blah something is in use.... so tnx a lot man :)
