  • I heard LDJIN had some distribution problems in the US due to a Eugene O'Neill organization affronted by this Canadian production of their iconic American play (arguably the best film version yet!! LOL! ) I’m glad it got a little exposure on PBS. Hutt resets the bar for James Tyrone, what a loss for Canadian theatre. Any students of acting need to see this film.

Also, just past away is Peter Donaldson another great. Have a glass of bourbon and toast them both as you enjoy this film.

  • Hutt's Long Days Journey Into Night is a classic. I was filmed but whether it is available on dvd is another story.

  • I believe this is the film DVD on Amazon ...go to Amazon and search item B0015S4BCE

Odly the description is missing but the cover is from the Canadian film.

I have also seen it in indi-vid stores here in Victoria BC and in the public library - It does exist!

  • @Ernest2306 Thanks for the information. I purchased it last night. It is the Hutt version.

  • I wish I could have seen you live in Stratford, Ontario but didn't see your work until you played Charles so magnificently in "Slings & Arrows". Watching you as part of the play within the play spoke to my spirit, especially as Lear. Thank you for all you gave to us for so many years. Rest in peace. blossom0777
