The whole bible is about a marriage contract between God and the 12 tribes of Israel. God gave laws and if you don't follow those laws he said disease would come upon the nation and person that doesn't follow his commandments, statutes etc. If you eat pig, you have broken one of his laws and you will suffer with disease. If you don't rest on the Sabbath, Friday night to Saturday night, you have broken one of his laws and you will suffer for it. Keep his laws and you won't get the diseases.

Earlier in the debate, he talked about how the human body is well-designed. What she wanted to know was why does this well-designed body do things like create cancer? Why would it fail like that if it were designed by a perfect God? It has nothing to do with the justification of suffering. It points out the fact that cancer negates the perfect design argument.

Just observe the differences in how the atheists show their respect for the Christians in this video and how they laugh and make fun. The one thing Kirk said in this video I 100% agree with is great love is demonstrated by Christians who take their message to places they will probably be killed. However, with this particular question I can understand why he made the error. Earlier in the debate, he talked about how the human body is well-designed. What she wanted to know was why does this well-designed body do things like create cancer? Why would it fail like that if it were designed by a perfect God? It has nothing to do with the justification of suffering. It points out the fact that cancer negates the perfect design argument.

Cancer comes as a result of many different casues - viruses, carcinogens, ionizing rays - anything that causes mutations in DNA and uncontrolled multiplication of affected cells. And second, from the evolutionary perspective, cancer probably doesn't exert strong enough evolutionary pressure, because it generally affects people (and animals) of older age, who have already reared their own children.It may seem cruel, but it's how evolution works.

@EPiicwaFFLess You will believe in a book written by man so why can't you believe in one written by God through man? Without faith it is impossible to please God or even understand Him. Until you remove your pride, you will always have another question so it's no point in discussing spiritual things unless you are willing to do what it takes.

@jim4jesus5519 the bible is a book written by man and contradicts many parts of actual history and used stories from pagan cults and were slightly altered, including jesus. the gospel writers nor st. paul met jesus and there is no evidence to prove that he even walked this earth. like EPiicwaFFLess said "wake up" as a former believer in christianity i am able to understand the doctrine and th bible itself which i doubt you even read the whole thing

@evgraber well the athiests say they do it because "they care about the future of humanity" and feel religion is detrimental to human progress which i believe as well. i debate about religion because i want people to have an open mind and look at things from a different point of view so they arent so blind and close minded

@ManifoldLash. Ray was addressing the larger topic at hand. She wanted to know why cancer happens and he was explaining why a body designed to be perfectly functioning is no longer able to. It is due to sin in our lives. If you seriously listen to what he was saying you would understand his point.

The one thing Kirk said in this video I 100% agree with is great love is demonstrated by Christians who take their message to places they will probably be killed. That doesn't mean their theological beliefs are true. When I read comments and see my fellow atheists doing nothing but insulting, and belittling Christians for their belief system it saddens me. These people need our help NOT our hate. Step up atheists and show a little love. Reason kindly with victims of religion. They CAN change.

What Ray has demonstrated here is that he either can't or won't listen to a question that threatens his worldview. He was asked how he can claim the human body was perfectly designed when it has so many rampant imperfections and he chose to talk about suffering instead, despite being called on it three times.
How can we believe he can interpret a god that we can't see, when he won't even listen to a woman that we can?

@ManifoldLash I agree with you that Ray does seem to have a mental block, or he is deliberately dishonest, because he has been corrected many times on certain views he clings to and he still makes the same arguments. However, with this particular question I can understand why he made the error. She didn't ask the question the way you worded it, though that is what she meant, she talked about cancer and Ray thought she was asking why God allows such things. In this case I understand his error.

Later, God sends his son to repent for the sin Adam and Eve committed (and as stated, God placed the sin maker). Interesting ha?
