  • PPPSSSHHHHH!!!! for there age this is EPIC!!!!! oh and GO VIOLAS!!!!!!! and i guess cellos

  • Thumbs up for the effort!

  • very good job. i'd imagine if this group stays together for a few more years that they'd be very very impressive.

  • Baby crying at 1:48 ?

  • nigga conduct

  • @krolrys123 AND?!

  • @krolrys123 It doesn't matter about race. Shut the fuck up.

  • Ma che età hanno ? Ma che bravi !

  • wow...they're just kids and they're so good!

  • I like how no one commented on the awesome cellist and her entrance. Congrats to her :)

  • Not exactly the typical phrasing,,, but the gist of it is very clear, and even quite interesting. Yes, they are kids, and they are doing very well, technically not too swell, but the variation they inadvertently produce are appealing enough.

My only hope is that this is not the culmination of their skills- but that they go on to personally interpret these movements, and make them their own.

Italian Baroque is easily performed, but mastery is a dozen levels away.

  • i play the violin. i got this piece down pat!!!

  • a black conductor? Now that's rare. More power to him

  • Give these children a break! Yes, it's not perfect. It's still exceptional.

Every player knows stringed instruments are frustrating to master, sometimes taking a lifetime to do so. I admire their devotion to their craft to to play to this level. The oldest is, what, 14?

I'm certainly inspired by their performance. Perhaps it will be better to pass a helpful critique and not one to simply make yourself seem more superior. That's not why they play and it certainly shouldn't be why you listen.

  • wonderfull

  • awe.. i thought they did really well for kids!

  • everyone needs to stop being so critical, for young kids this is pretty damn good, stop comparing yourselves, geez!

  • bello

  • No offense to whoever is in this, but i dont think it was very good.

We just played this in our ensemble at school(canterbury) and it was played differently, but the sound was much better in ours.

  • someones out of tune for the last movement...

  • i love this peice and ive played it in concert 3 times and they sound ok ish imao im only 11 so i shouldnt be saying any thing

  • My music program is playing this. I think its pretty hard to get in perfect, then again im only 12 :P

  • Wow lmao they look young :}

  • wow my high school orchestra is playin this for our winter conert and we sound wayyy better they dont have much balance other than the blance its ok ish

  • Bravo, bravo!!!!!

  • hey im playing this with my orchestra!! :D

  • truly enjoyable

and thanks for the superb coughing, too - you can almost feel the mucus!

  • wow i can barely hear the violas in there!

  • @patmon1293 FWRaetgsetrh

  • i luv this song ...they are amazing!!! i played this once at carnegie hall with an orchestra but we sucked...unlike them

  • i played this for imea district 9*

  • I have to play this for youth symphony x_x

  • im playing this in my orchestra right now!

  • lmao......i was looking this up for a friend.......and i jus realized dat i was in dis orchestra.......

  • Do you not see how young these children are? They might be a little, but they still did amazing.

  • Aren't they out of tune a bit?

  • Actually, I'd like to update my comment: I think this is really amazing for a youth orchestra; the ritards at endings were beautiful, I felt the polyphony, there was an intensity to the performance that didn't just feel "loud", it made me a little teary-eyed.

  • I personally think this is pretty impressive for a youth orchestra.

  • they are very good for young kids. all you older trained people bashing them should quit bashing little kids

  • Think before you speak. And no, criticizing the group as a whole is not helpful in any way. As a music educator, there are several ways to approach and teach techniques & concepts, instead of putting down musicians with harsh and useless criticism. There will always be room for improvement, dis regardless of any performance level. Also, understand that this is a youth orchestra and that they are rated at different level.

I thought they sounded good. Great job you guys.

  • q fino!!! eso lo estmos tocando en mi Orquesta!!!!!11111111111

  • i don't disagree, but it irritates me whenever anyone other than an instructor criticizes the way kids play. it's embarrassing.

there's a difference between criticizing mediocre/stupid adults and criticizing kids on youtube.

  • chill... they are kids...

  • I played this too XD whein I was 11

  • hey, yah know what? im playing this for my orchsetra, and they sound better than us!!

  • don't criticise, they're at a delicate age where intonation is naturally inconsistent

  • they need it or else they'll still suck

  • this is one of the easier songs i've played. I don't understand how they could do that bad on an easy song :/

  • ugh sry but FAIL! bows were all over the place and places were really out of tune! the trils were ok....

  • i agree. however, it's not like this is an easy song. but yes, they could have done much better

  • well actually i think its pretty easy.....

  • we have to play this and it is really really hard give them a breack OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh//i cant listen to this((( all is out of tune..

  • considering their age i think they were pretty good....we should understand that they're young and they might be really nervous on stage that their hands may shake....dont blame them if they were not like the national symphony orchestra

  • they're kids give them a break

  • @SoggyCroutons HEY! I PLay the viola, ima fith grader and i can play this song no problem so shut up

  • @SoggyCroutons

If they're playing baroque music they should do it right. They at least should tune the instruments...

  • @bszpilarski they are very well in tune. and rhythmically accurate. but they are still only kids. give credit where it's due.

  • @TMSVioloncellist ok -you are right- i'm just stone deaf despite of my absolute hearing...

  • @bszpilarski These are just kids and probably can't even tell the difference of the tuning, and also, even professional symphony orchestras, when playing baroque music, don't even tune differently!

  • It is not their fault actually, it is the teacher's fault. that man needs to teach them how to play or else they will never be professionals.

  • @mexico662 Obviously, they know how to play. They are kids. Lay off. This was an excellent performance and they did the best they could. It's people like you who manage to discourage talented kids like them to go for their dreams. Keep your negative comments to yourself.

  • also, learn to work on dynamics

  • There was a little bit at 1:49, and then again a few seconds later, that were annoyingly out of tune,

but, on the whole, fucking BRAVO!!~!

My highshool orchestra played this two years ago when I was in grade 10. Try playing the non-solo cello parts on a half-size doublebass. fucking RIDICULOUS, but fun.

    xD

  • i think they play very good like orchestra but in my view the composition of this concert isn't very difficult to do

  • amazing. i'm playling the solo violin part for a recital :D this sounds AMAZING.

  • They did good for this being such a difficult piece. Bravo!

  • i feel it would sound better if it were a bit slower at parts

and its not such a hard piece..im a horrible violinist but our orchestra played this piece and i didn't have a hard time playing this

  • our orch. preformed this.

and i must say we did better then them

  • whoa, 8:02 is cool. Love that part.

  • is the cello entrance the 3rd movement? What is the 1st movement/2nd/3rd? What is a movement?

  • the cello part was awesome.... the 3rd movement was too fast but you guys eventually pulled it together... it was great besides that

  • Complete asshole...but the 1st violin duet at the beginning...could have been better but the cellos are awesome!

  • it's good for your age. well done for tackling such a hard piece!

all i would say is watch your intonation sometimes and make sure you don't rush the 16th notes.

but well done! i'm learning to play this and it's not as easy as it looks!!!

  • 3rd movement tooooooooo fast!

  • Lol. Considering this piece is based on soloists/soli a conductor is not necessary.

As far as playing this piece, I think they've done an amazing job. We started to play this and it is hard once you start playing it fast. Though in the beginning of the 3rd movement we play a bunch more sixteenth notes, but these kids look pretty young for that. And a little intonation problems are to be expected.

Anyway, this orchestra sounds amazing. I'm sure they have some bright futures ahead of them.

  • you are right my high school that i am going to next year, their advanced group played this piece during the winter concert without any kind of conductor and they did fine

  • ....whats to lol about. This are children, most kids haven't developed the nessicary body language to hold an entire group together. Anyways, most people this age want a hand infront of them to show them when to start rather than following their Conzert Meister(or in this case mistress).

  • children? lol.. they look 16-18 to me... lol....

  • are u completely stupid or something? look at them, they are not 16-18, my god they were great but i guess dumb people like u will always exist, to bad though.

    -this is to cwxzeng

  • Sorry about this, but for calling them "children" fuck you.

And just because someone is young doesn't mean that they are incapable of doing something. That's why most people underestimate the talent and potential that my high school, along with many other, that deserve as much respect as, say, the LPO.

I feel insulted by this, I am 16 years old and I play the violin. We play music that is just as challenging and complicated as this, we don't always need a conductor.

  • Be careful in your intonation!

  • Fantastic!!! Those children are very skilled :)

  • Bravo!

  • Magnificent!

  • See a child enjoing the real good things of life like this makes me happy... thanks for make me smile

  • Sounds good! Keep playing and love what you do and try to be better and better.

  • what an amazing orchestra for some kids

  • their pyramid is a little off, and they need to do u p the dynamics a little. ALso, the seconds need to make their notes flow a litle better, but over all, they did a really good job, especially considering that it's a YOUTH orchestra. keep up the good work!

  • playing pretty well for KIDS

  • Hey, this might not been the greatest profressional recording. But look at them! They are a bunch of 14-18 year olds - some might even be younger. If this is the worst you have heard then you have heard nothing.

  • lmao the squeakkkks

  • have some mercy, it an orchestra of kids!

  • Comment removed

  • I cannot help but comment on the irony in your statement, for: _concerto grosso_ and _solo concerto_ are not the same and should not be considered so rudely as merely _concertos_. That said, while the comment your are referencing may not have been polite, it is not necessarily in technical error--unless, of course, you have a copy of the score in or from Vivaldi's hand that forbids the use of more than one instrument for the part (acoustic requirements and available musicians do vary).

  • As a fourteen yr old musician I can tell you that one Vivaldi is very hard to play and before you go making judgements you have a go. And also a concerto is defined as a soloist or a group of soloists playing with an orchestral accompaniment so that is why there are soloists. And so if you are going to make comments like this you should at least look up what youre commenting about. Plus, if you were too lazy to do that you could at least post your comment more politely

  • we are playing this for our orchestra and it has woodwinds in it. It sounds a little weird without it

  • lol my syracuse symphony youth string styring orchestra plays this a lot faster

  • è orribile..che brutto suono

  • it is not a difficult peice to "play" any moron can play this song (i mean the notes on the page), but it takes an amazing player to contribute emotion, and real playing to this song. this orchestra has done it. not a hard peice to play, but a hard peice to master. these guys have really mastered it. congradulations guys!

  • i think it is easy and i started today

  • lol my band is trying to play this

yeah concert band...i lisened to this and was just like OH LORD

theres no way...i knew i should played the cello instead of bari sax, as beast as it is.

  • i dont hear some of the important viola parts.

yeah the 2nd movement is kinda loud but the orchestra is huge...

wow the 3rd movement is fast!

  • lol The only semi important part for the viola is near the beginning.

  • viva españa coño!!

  • cello solo rushedddd but sounded nicely in the 3rd movement still..

  • i don't understand:S te first violin has very god technique in the left hand she is so good in changign the positios but she has a bad tune in some notes of the first position:S:S (mov 3)

  • Great group....esp. the first chairs. I would however watch out for dynamic changes. I know there are alot of them in the piece. The second movement more so than the others. But in the first movement I would work on dynamics so its a lovely piece to listen to. Great job overall! =)

  • Oh yea first chair cello is asian! ^_^

  • And The Red Priest was Italian.

  • Holy crap, second movement was loud. But I like it =)

  • They crapped up the 3rd mvt so badly.

  • agree, their cooperating are worse.

  • they r just kids, they will probably be better after a couple of years

  • I think they did admirably well considering how many years they're behind their beards.

  • This is cool because I am trying to make an octet with my friends and we chose this song to play together!

  • very nice...but the whole sound just lacks a bit of refinment...not their problem, just comes with expearience.

  • what are you talking about he does have feelings

  • hey, our school's playing this right now!

they are definitely a lot younger than us

    but they sound pretty gd.

just some pitch, note length problem here and there.. haha um.

  • im going to transcribe this to a metal song (specially the Maestoso part in the beginning) this summer.

i think its going to be sick. (i will make eight notes, (the D's in the opening) into triplets) itll be beast

  • I love this too. Kudos, indeed.

  • Me too, but they play pretty bad!

  • the director doesnt have feelings

  • agreed

  • haha .. a correction without offence, it's conductor :)

  • WTF is going on with this video, i used to listen it, pls put it back, you can erase tons of crap out there

  • One of my most favorite compositions ever! I played this in the Dekalb Youth Symphony in Atlanta,GA and I fell in love with it. I was in first chair and got to play that solo.....man was it awesome! Concert Master....all I have to say is brava!

  • man that 1 cello player is cute the dude with the brown hair that curles at the end down to his ears

  • lol he got lost

  • Your orchestra had let me think of Ospedialle

    Orphanage's performance in Vivaldi's time

  • wonderful! :D

  • Q.E.D. You guys are amazing. My class sucks at this. D: I've been put to shame.

  • omfg..... lol im in 10th grade... and the string ensemble played this.... and kept messing up... half the speed.... i guess thats what they get for not practicing and yea i agree this teacher must be like vivaldi reincarnated or somehting to teach them all this.... im very impressed

  • WOOOOOAH 1st chair first violin girl just like BEASTED the whole first 40 measures 0.0

    gj :D

  • este director hace que esta clase de musicaa reviva durante cualquier reunio de personas de buen oido musical

  • Youth symphony...

  • You guys are amazing. o 3o

    My teacher is trying to get us to play this but... no one in my class seems to care much for music. >>;;

  • we have to play that in chamber orchesta but....i care but i suck -_-

  • your chamber orchestra must be complete shit

  • -_- nice...

  • agree

  • the ritornello needs a bit of work

  • Great job~!

  • gyönyörű szépen játszotok!

    15éve én is hegedülök!

    gratulálok!!!!!

  • At 1:48 it sounds like the baby is crying along with the music.

  • hahhhaahahhah!!!!!!

  • It was good for your age, but in some places it was played sloppily(by the 1st violinist and others)

  • oo I remember doing this song in 8th grade! It was a ton of fun. :)

  • I remember playing this in High school. the soloists were really good.

  • You guys are fantastic. My school orchestra and my county string orchestra sound no where near this good. Those players must have discipline.

Hats off to them all! Especially the soloists.

  • well done!

  • Yeah, grow young musicians, now you're great, how about your adulthood...

  • omg, this is awesome, and they're so young!!=)

  • Ha, I love this piece. I played an arrangement of it for a bassoon duet, and it was amazing.

  • Wow. Sublime

  • last eyar my middle played it i was in 7th garde but wow they were good this year were playing it ^.^ and i got the solo 2nd

  • That is my favorite song to play!!! I LOVE Vivaldi stuff!!! This was an audition piece for an orchestra thing (I didn't make it :( My school's bass player got in though) and I just love to hear it.

  • wow so young and so talented

  • holy shit... well done!!!

if the conductor is their music teacher then he deserves teacher of the year

  • wow....they look pretty young, and they sound GREAT!!!!!

  • there very very good for their age

  • We play it like just two players and I like that version much more... Anyway, very good cellists

  • well done !!!

  • awsome...

  • they're soo young!
