I like the rhetoric from the secession movement in the south. Anti war/ anti empire. However aren't they also very socially conservative?

I'm an anarchist, not a secessionist by the way. But as a Southerner and a fellow lover of freedom, I feel we really want the same thing.

Anarchists are secessionists. They just take secession to the next level, seceding from all governments & interacting on a voluntary means in the free market. I'm very close to that myself, believing I shouldn't be forced to be part of any government I don't accept. If I had my way, SC would be a government in name only & wouldn't interfere in my personal affairs & virtually everything in society would be privately owned. If you've read Hans Hoppe, that's basically where I'm coming from.

I try to avoid a few of the main topics that tend to divide. Some people stress one issue of another. I focus on what I think should be our main goal - ridding ourselves of the Feds. After that, I think most other things will fall into line. I know that's not a very good answer to your question, but I tend to take a position on religion similar to Thomas Jefferson & Jefferson Davis. You can message me if you'd like a clearer answer than that. However, in general I try to avoid what divides us.

It's not semantics to point out what a disgusting government we live under. The point of this video was not to lend the Empire moral support by saying 'we' did something when the Empire did it. 'We' should oppose the evil they do.

Or if you are a "public servant", or if you vote(unless you vote for someone who wants to do away with the empire).

Like it was told to you, the "we, us, our" is collective moral support.

I think it's the people who are sick of the Empire and interventionism at home and abroad against the rulers of the Empire and those who benefit from the thievry and imperialism that the Empire engages in. Bastiat, Calhoun and others made this distinction long ago and I think it applies now more than ever.

I can understand what you're saying, esp. if you are in the military. However the fact is very real that our wealth is being stolen. Our liberties are being stolen. And we do not have it within our power to change the course of the central government. Those are the facts as I see them. There are people who are doing all these things to us - people like Hank Paulson, Lindsey Graham, Obama, McCain, Gheitner, etc & esp. the people who pull their strings. In many ways it IS an us verses them thing.

You make a good point, and I enjoyed the video. But to be fair, I don't think that it ever made sense to use "we" in the political sense.

Empire or no, I would not hold citizens responsible for the actions of their state, any more than I would hold a victim of the mob responsible for contributing to organized crime.

Rather, I would look to the institution of democracy, to try and explain how it tempts otherwise peaceful men into violent conflict, due to an inherent imbalance of incentives.
