That's why he is kind of whispering most of the times, and why he let's the audience and/or back up singers sing most of the chorusses in his live performances. His whispering way of singing does give the music a cerain admosphere though, and it's considered sexy by alot of women..so it does have a benefit

Howvever, most of the time, he just covers his receiding hairline/balding area with a hat. That's why there are hardly any pictures from random shots (not photoshoots) that involve his hair showing from the last 8 years or or so. I'm pretty sure in the american 'bailamos' video and around that area it's still his own hair, but from the album escape and so on it's a piece or hat.
