  • Now this is the real blues. No Mistake----Thad

  • RED HOUSE

  • I heard that little Richard showed up at one of jimi's shows and jimi wouldnt even talk to him, is it true?

  • @jimmy59ca2001 Possibly -- Little Richard was kind of a dick to Jimi for stealing his spotlight back when they were together.

  • @Nemesis0300 he also owed him some money but never paid jimi. Jimi was too humble to ever really ask him but eventually did when Jimi was still struggling and needed the money really bad. but even then richard didnt pay him back anything close to what was owed.

  • @OfficialNsteady I heard Little Richard was a dick like that to a lot of people, and just a dick in general. I love his music, but I think he's the only guy who has ever claimed to "invent" rock n roll, which is just stupid.

  • Hmm...Travis Wammack was Little Richard's music director for a 10 year period, so that may be him in some pics--big guy with the gray hair.

  • Wow. Little Richard and Jimi. This is a treasure.

  • A great Fats Domino record. FD did it in 1953 and 1958!

  • You gotta earn ya Dues if Ya wanna play the Blues and ya know it don't come easy....................

  • @MuskateerGripWeed Boy don't I know.

  • That's clearly Don "Sugarcane" Harris on violin. The lead instrument is really the violin, not the guitar. There are two guitars, one is doing that accent on the 2 & 4 beats and the other is 'lumping' (Magic Slim's term) on the bass strings. Hendrix did play with -- and record with Richard -- but those two guitars could be anybody. A GREAT CUT though. When Richard does a deep slow blues, he really nails it . And the fiddle is icing on the cake.

  • @barkwoodrecords You're right! A master musician.

  • Cool tune. My source (From the Benjamin Franklin Studios) says Jimi was not involved on this track. It also lists over 70 official recordings that were released and that are credited with Hendrix playing on them, when he didn't.

  • "haha"? Hendrix often worked with Don and Dewey prior to becomming a full-time Upsetter. Don and Dewey are on GOING HOME TOMORROW with LR.

Many sources say Hendrix is on *several VJ tracks*. What's the "haha"?

  • I got to see Little Richard and Ruth Brown a couple of years back at the much missed S.F. Blues Festival but I never heard this great song, thanks for posting!. He told Ruth Brown how he listened to her and her vocal approach as he was coming up.

  • Priceless. Thanks for posting it.

  • the blues never get's old

  • First song I learnt to play w/bass... Love it!

  • I met Little Richard once

  • Long, stereo version!

  • Recorded June 30, 1964 by LR and possibly Hendrix. An amazing performance, with Don Harris on electric violin.

  • @ensconse Thank you so much!! I knew that the solo was being played on electric violin, but never knew who it was. Thanks!!!

  • @rodentcafeteria

You're welcome. Interesting that Don Harris played electric violin on the Frank Zappa version of Richard's "Directly From My Heart To You".

  • @ensconse haha possibly hendrix?

  • Nice post

  • Little Richard does a great job on this blusey song...a nice change for him IMO.

  • Thanks for the post .. I believe it is one of the strongest blues records!!

  • Gran blues Javier! Muy buen trabajo, sigue así! Fernando
