Typical 4wd action bullshit. The blokes driving the mag are all still in nappies so its no wonder there is so much crap. Its a known fact 4wd action only support their advertisers and anyone else gets bagged. What a shit mag!
i have the magazine issue they did on this test, most of the straps broke more than what they were rated at.
See i have a 1.8 tonne 4x4 and normally snatch out 4x4's larger than mine say around 2.2 tonne.. thats 4 tonne and i use a 10 tonne strap (it was cheaper than the 8 and by just straps)
So theres a extra 6 tonnes of strap not being used, but remember that the weight of the vehicle isnt the weight ur pulling out, its usually lighter except for some extreme situations.
That is completely false. 90% of the time during a recovery the weight you're pulling GREATER than the weight of the vehicle you're pulling by a significant factor
those straps probably broke in the area of 50,000lbs..my guess. Most recovery straps are rated at 18,000,27,000+..the ones that are that thick anyways.

well it might if they told you how much pressure it took to fail.
as it stands all I know is straps can break with a huge machine designed to break stuff.
if you are trying to teach someone they arent unbreakable I guess it is a good lesson.
