the reason why that it isnt the best thing is 1 he was way out in front and 2 he had somewhat of a dip, hunter pence is a great hitter that was probably just a lazy swing
@TheKnockout756 im still a little confused (not trying to sound like a jerk at any point) because his head is over his back knee the whole time. he does hit the ball out front, but thats what everyone does. the more time you have to accelerate your bat, the faster it will be. so creating more distance will give faster bat speed (think of bunting as zero distance). and to address your second point, what is a "dip" exactly?
@baseballbxtr oh no dont worry i may be wrong but the fact that he takes such a long stride causes hip movement to take more energy so he probably did not get the best hit on this power wise, the swing path is ok it just looks like his elbow drops or "dips" making it seem like he popped out in this video but that may just be the angle
everybody is looking at what happens in his timing mechanism, but if you look at 0:15, he is nice and balanced, and from there he makes a nice turn, he's got a nice swing plane. Nice Swing, unorthodox load.
the most important things are his body at 00:15 sec and 00:17 almost all good baseball players look nearly the same at those positions
