This is from Glenn Gould's seminal recording of the Well Tempered Keyboard, which one of the numerous pieces I don't know. This music is originally for harpsichord (sometimes played on organ) not piano and Gould was the first to reintroduce it on piano in a non romantic way.
The fugue is from the Well Tempered Clavier, Book 1 Fugue 14 in F Sharp Minor
