This is a true story: The people are told verteld that if Shell passes on the area everything would be better for the people. The result: Shell is getting scrued, hated and kipnapped.

This is because the local envoronment is polluted, the locals are starved (bad fishcatch because of polluting the waters), dried up (pollution of the water) and is shoking of the bad air (by torturing oil).

You can't say that the Nigerian government has nothing to do with it, if you read article 22 in the UN declaration of human rights you will find that the government is responsible for their people. Even if it's very easy for you to put the blame where you feel it suits, please, try not to be so one-sided.
