His militant group never killed 1 single human being (innocent or not). His group began bombing buildings after they felt frustrated seeing the police murdering anti-war group leaders.Things were much different back in the 60s, a lot of anarchy going on during those years.

This is the toughest question to answer, and I myself have yet to hear a good opinion. The problem we face in the present times is that the power that the government has, and the military that backs them, we the people who foot the bill for their personal missions are not getting a say in how the country is being run. Lets face it, you can protest and write and call your representatives as much as you want, but we have given them enough power to deny our desires and act on their own accord.

Even when the majority of the people in the country don't want to be at war, we are still there. So what do you do as a citizen? Do you rebel and fight, yet become the very thing you hate, or do you take the route that they have given us to speak out, and still see your opinion not taken into action, even if it is the popular thought process. Lets face it, the only thing the government is going to listen to is action that draws hugh media coverage, and protest is usually pushed under the rug.

Guilt by association" should include McCain's close friendship w/Liddy, which he praised for his "principles & philosophies." Was McCain referring to Liddy's advocacy of break-ins? Firebombings? Assassinations? Kidnappings? At the time Ayers was w/the Weathermen, Liddy was making plans to firebomb a DC think tank, assassinate a prominent journalist, undertake the Watergate burglary, break into the office of Ellsberg's psychiatrist, & kidnap anti-war protesters at the '72 Rep convention.

@BobReidy First, Ayers is a highly respected professor of social justice today. He donated $200 to Obama's campaign not McCain-that's his right. However, GOP used baseless attacks to promote an influential friendship. Perhaps this was an attempt to distract Americans from McCain's "strong friendship" with Liddy, a convicted domestic terrorist, or Palin's connection with anti-American AIP. IRA are mobsters that's all. Speak to those in Britain.
