BTW, he couldn't record himself on normal microphones like everyone else. His voice was so damn loud that EVERY one of his songs had to be recorded on a special radio mic so his voice wouldn't break the equipment!

His voice was too strong for any regular tube microphone, so they had to record all of his tracks on a radio mic. That only goes to say how powerful of a singer he was. RIP MJ

@MrRobadoba I'm a really big fan and a musician myself. First of all, radio mics are worse than stereo mics ( if you don't mean podcast ones ). He either used a dynamic ( sm58? ) or a condensor with really strong filters. I mean, no artist records on a radio mic that is supposed to send away signals to other stations and doesn't have a very big frequence. Sounds weird.

@EnjoiSweden I didn't mean radio mic like a podcast mic. It was still a dynamic mic, called the Shure SM7B. It's just designed for and predominantly used by radio and TV stations. Only a few really loud musicians (rock singers or Michael Jackson) have used this because the mic handles loud noises and sounds (drum cymbals, screeching voices, etc.) very well. Which is kind of ironic, considering how quiet of a guy Michael was in real life. lol
