K&N ur paying for the filter element technology (cotton) and the way its made (with all the brackets and body - cone style). UNI is cheaper cause its just a foam tube strapped on to ur carb
Yes I used a jet kit, I never dynoed the bike, all I have is the butt dyno. It feels abit quicker in acceleration from 0-100kph but past that it's the same old crap. Yes you need to rejett your bike if you install pod filters + the muzzy. If you don't rejett you will not be able to rev the bike past a certain RPM Cuz it will not be getting enough fuel.
Itsmpt answered the question about what pod filters were. Putting on the pod filters was actually very easy, but removing the stock airbox was the hard part. But u can pry that out with some elbow greese. I used a dremel to rip off some plastic from the stock airbox to get it out. Yup I had to rejet after installing the pod filters, the bike wouldn't even rev past 5krpm without rejeting. Retting is abit more tricky but u can do it with some practice
- Pods are individual filters for each carb as opposed to a single filter element for all carbs
- Packing is stuffing the muffler to make it quieter. You dont have to, but some exhausts are super loud...
- Rejetting is probably a good idea if you change both the filter and exhaust because with the upgrades, the bike will flow air better and so you will need to adjust the fuel flow by rejetting. And i dont htink it is that hard to do.
hey man can you help me? i sorta smashed my air box gettin it out the other day!whoops! does it run ok with these pod filters and can you tell me if they are oiled or what the deal is? thanks
Did you rejet when you shot this video?

The muzzy was around 450 canadian. The pod filters were around 18 dollers each.
The muzzy is pretty much the only aftermarket exhaust system for the older 250s.

How hard was it to put in the filter pods it looks frustrating? I've been to the Ninja 250 site and read it in the FAQ.

installing the pod filters are easy, removing the stock airbox is hard but doable.

what are pod filters, and why do you have to repack an exhaust, and did you have to rejet, and is that hard?
