Dorje Shugden is the same nature as Je Tsongkhapa they are the same person performing different functions. Many Dorje Shugden sadhanas state that Dorje Shugden is the embodiment of the Guru, Yidam, and Protector, where Guru refers specifically to Lama Tsongkhapa.
Thus, many cannot accept what Dalai Lama is saying about Dorje Shugden when there are so many evidence pointing to Dorje Shugden's enlightened nature.
There has to be something wrong from their side when they stress so much this forging of a relationship, but you can't actually meet Gyatso and talk to him! At Samye Ling, which I visited often at one time, the lamas came down to the kitchen and had a coffee quite often with the residents. Other groups I have been to their top brass is approachable at most reasonable times. KG is a recluse and the people around him are sycophants.

Oh no! The spammers at work again! Dorje Shugden does not violate religious freedom. His practice promote tolerance and freedom because it promotes spiritual practice. It creates happiness for everyone because we get our temporal wishes fulfilled and so we can focus upon spiritual endeavours.
It should be made clear that Shugen worship itself violates religious freedom, because Shugden does not allow followers to practice other schools than the "pure Gelug school". Those who practice other schools "mix the pure doctrine" and will be killed for that "crime" by the deity Dorje Shugden, or they will at least be punished by a terrible sickness and finally die a horrible death.
That's interesting because the dalai lama himself has learnt from different schools and nothing has happened to him yet. He is always well versed in all the different schools of buddhism throughout all his incarnations.
So why does he always incarnate back? why does he pass away in clear light meditations and peacefully? Why doesn't he go straight to hell when he dies?
In all honesty, Kelsang is even against other teachers in his own school. If you've ever really had exposure to Kelsang, which you haven't, because you never talk about him the way real students do, you'd know he doesn't want you reading other teachers' books, even.

Why does HHDL open himself up to scrutiny and criticisms from many quarters by calling for this ban on Dorje Shugden practice? Why does he subject himself to hate campaigns? Why does he now want to stop his DS practice? Why has he allowed himself to look unstable? These are questions I cannot begin to understand but I believe he has a purpose to it and when the time is correct, it will be revealed.
I admire the passion of these Western Shugden Society in coming out with a book and staging all these protests where the Dalai Lama goes. I do hope that all these will create the cause for the ban on Dorje Shugden to be lifted. Being an enlighten being, H.H. has compassion for all. He will not harm any living being. His views on DS are very private and subjective. Protesting against the high lama is not a Buddhism practice. We should respect H.H. and his views but we were not forced to not do what we believe in. Since at SharGanden, the practice of DS continues, that means its OK to practice DS. I do not see the need to protest if we chose to practice DS privately.

@closerelative That the moon is flat was also given as a teaching to the Dalai Lama. A student has not to accept what is incorrect. HHDL also had many teachers, Trijang Rinpoche was just one of them. See the Vietnamese monk on the microphone - he is the abbot Thich Thien Son of Phat Hue, a temple in Frankfurt, Germany. A former monk of him stated that he had sexual encounters with him and at least one other monk. Although the Dalai Lama was warned, he met with him (like he did with the leader of the Japanese AUM sect once).
Other Vietnamese Buddhist monks tried to protect this abbot from being expelled from the sangha (which is the regular "punishment" for a parajika offense).

There are endless contradictions in the view of the Dalai Lama which is why of course generally people prefer blindly to believe whatever he says. For example, if the Dalai Lama is truly the Buddha of Compassion. also known as "the most powerful one in the world", and it is true that Dorje Shugden is a worldly deity then why can the Dalai Lama not subdue him just like Padmasambhava subdued Nechung? Why has this contradiction never been answered, for example?

One can't really explain fully why people say things and resort to slander. I can't speak for the publishers of the booklet, however my guess is that when a deity or practise that is precious to many is labelled "evil" and "devil worshipping", it incites people enough to believe that DL is fair game as well. As for the second question, Kundeling himself can answer that. He is not a leader of the Shugden society, and views expressed are his own. Shouldn't be lumped together with a group pls.
Kundeling Losang Yeshe is listed as one of the leaders of the Shugden society and one of 2 litigants in the civil writ petition against HHDL. So NKT by these protests is giving him support, even if indirectly, and needs to consider this.

I said I was shushed because lionheart told me to be quiet when I posted my view (backed by interpol) and also he called me a liar. I provided my burden of proof by referring the the Interpol wanted ads. When telling someone to be quiet and calling them a liar is trying to shush them rather than providing real evidence. I wanted it to be a last post, but when called a liar one must defend one's credibility.
Actually if you go to the interpol website and also the website of the Indian authorities you can see that both groups of police have placed Losang Chozin and Tenzin Chodak, Shugden followers, on their wanted list for the murders. Exactly!people can research and decide for themselves. Expressing one's opinions freely without fear of persecution and ostracization IS democratic. Presenting one's view is not about shushing anyone or spinning. There are many sides to a story and diversity of views is important. Labelling and lumping an entire group of people is unwarranted. If two people are wanted, ALL are not! If Kundeling states HIS opinions, ALL are not responsible! Meanwhile, the cleansing and the blaming continues-SAD!

People should check carefully who is behind the protests and where the money is coming from. In a recent interview on French television, one of the high ranking Lamas of the Shugden community expressed his support fot the Chinese presence in Tibet. He also said the "cultural revolution wasn't that bad in Tibet".
Whether the protestors in the West didn't know and were manipulated, or whether the PRC is behind this, nothing good for the Tibetan cause will come of it.
If Tibet would be free from Chinese government this moment, the Tibetans will just start to kill each other because of their blind faith in HHDL and fanatic hatred against the Shugden followers. I am not pro Chinese and never supported the cultural revolution, but I can understand those people who find now protection in the Chinese government because of being persecuted by their own fanatic people. Dorje Shugden is the same nature as Je Tsongkhapa they are the same person performing different functions. Many Dorje Shugden sadhanas state that Dorje Shugden is the embodiment of the Guru, Yidam, and Protector, where Guru refers specifically to Lama Tsongkhapa.
Thus, many cannot accept what Dalai Lama is saying about Dorje Shugden when there are so many evidence pointing to Dorje Shugden's enlightened nature.

There has to be something wrong from their side when they stress so much this forging of a relationship, but you can't actually meet Gyatso and talk to him! At Samye Ling, which I visited often at one time, the lamas came down to the kitchen and had a coffee quite often with the residents. Other groups I have been to their top brass is approachable at most reasonable times. KG is a recluse and the people around him are sycophants.

it wud be good to see more being done in the spirit of the dorjeshugden dot (com ) website which shows a good balance. They focus on giving people information & knowledge about both Dorje Shugden and about the current issue of the ban.
Readers get a balance, overall, informed view and can explore different aspects of how to support DS practitioners and uphold the practice. I believe this way is much more effective & balanced than just protest protest protest

I'd like to know what else these protestors are doing to help DS practitioners? Because all their videos just show them standing on the street chanting against the dalai lama - it's the same thing, just different backdrops!
I understand they want to draw the world's attention to this issue, but do they realise that by focusing only on this, they represent their gurus, DS & dharma practice just by protest protest protest? Pple look @ them & wonder if this is what DS practice all is about!

Five years since leaving the cult, and I still haven't been able to put together a modicum of daily practice. I know the NKT does not have ownership over the Dharma, but I find it a lot harder to practice without the support. I find it a lot harder to practice without the benefit of receiving teachings. There is nothing in my area for meditation centers OTHER THAN THE FREAKIN' NKT! They're everywhere, in disguise. All the websites of their local centers are like "meditationin______ dot orrg."

The one-and-only "Shugden lama" teaches that HHDL is a "liar and a hypocrite"--then they say "don't attend HHDL's teachings," then finally they make up a story about how "Shugden practitioners are banned from HHDL's teachings."

It should be made clear that Shugen worship itself violates religious freedom, because Shugden does not allow followers to practice other schools than the "pure Gelug school". Those who practice other schools "mix the pure doctrine" and will be killed for that "crime" by the deity Dorje Shugden, or they will at least be punished by a terrible sickness and finally die a horrible death.

I admire the passion of these Western Shugden Society in coming out with a book and staging all these protests where the Dalai Lama goes. I do hope that all these will create the cause for the ban on Dorje Shugden to be lifted. I do belief that the Dalai Lama, despite what it seems have good intentions in mind and so the views as presented in dorjeshugden website best fits what I feel as well.

Being an enlighten being, H.H. has compassion for all. He will not harm any living being. His views on DS are very private and subjective. Protesting against the high lama is not a Buddhism practice. We should respect H.H. and his views but we were not forced to not do what we believe in. Since at SharGanden, the practice of DS continues, that means its OK to practice DS. I do not see the need to protest if we chose to practice DS privately.

if you really support Dalai Lama, or you really support Dorje Shugden, you should reflect that support well - you should reflect what they teach you which is to be kinder than usual, develop compassion for everyone even the people you hate, give the victory to others. @closerelative That the moon is flat was also given as a teaching to the Dalai Lama. A student has not to accept what is incorrect. HHDL also had many teachers, Trijang Rinpoche was just one of them. Its up to the student to reject teachings discordant to the Dharma. See e.g. Je Tsongkhapa's teaching on Guru devotion.

These groups (NKT and WSS) are not opressed by the Dalai Lama or any other Buddhist authority because their members accept nobody as their spiritual authority besides their own leader Geshe Kelsang (a monk expelled from his monastery -96).
Shugden people are Gelug sectarians - so it´s not about "religious freedom". Their only intent is to undermine the Dalai Lama because of his non sectarian approach.

See the Vietnamese monk on the microphone - he is the abbot Thich Thien Son of Phat Hue, a temple in Frankfurt, Germany. A former monk of him stated that he had sexual encounters with him and at least one other monk. Although the Dalai Lama was warned, he met with him (like he did with the leader of the Japanese AUM sect once).
Other Vietnamese Buddhist monks tried to protect this abbot from being expelled from the sangha (which is the regular "punishment" for a parajika offense).

Why does HH the Dalai Lama need to repeat his 'warnings' re Dorje Shugden so many times. If Dorje Shugden truly was a demon and harmful, then HH and other high lamas should just subdue him through ritual. After all Nechung is an evil spirit, subdued by Guru Rinpoche and bound to help. After being subdued, you dont hear Guru Rinpoche warning us re him anymore. There are endless contradictions in the view of the Dalai Lama which is why of course generally people prefer blindly to believe whatever he says. For example, if the Dalai Lama is truly the Buddha of Compassion. also known as "the most powerful one in the world", and it is true that Dorje Shugden is a worldly deity then why can the Dalai Lama not subdue him just like Padmasambhava subdued Nechung? Why has this contradiction never been answered, for example?

OK then, perhaps WSS supporters can answer a couple of questions:
1. Is using the phrase "saffron robed Muslim" not inciting racial hatred? (see your : 'Tibetan Situation Today') Calling someone a Muslim as an insult is certainly not respectful of the Muslim community. Why use the name of the Muslim religion as an insult?
2.Why is Kundeling Losang Yeshe, leader of Indian based Shugden society making statements poking fun at the suffering Tibetans during the cultural revolution?

One can't really explain fully why people say things and resort to slander. I can't speak for the publishers of the booklet, however my guess is that when a deity or practise that is precious to many is labelled "evil" and "devil worshipping", it incites people enough to believe that DL is fair game as well. As for the second question, Kundeling himself can answer that. He is not a leader of the Shugden society, and views expressed are his own. Shouldn't be lumped together with a group pls.

Kundeling Losang Yeshe is listed as one of the leaders of the Shugden society and one of 2 litigants in the civil writ petition against HHDL. So NKT by these protests is giving him support, even if indirectly, and needs to consider this.
The statements about Muslims were not only an insult to the Dalai Lama. But also deeply offensive to faithful Muslims everywhere who see the Shugden Society use the name of their religion as a way to hurl insults.

I provided my burden of proof by referring the the Interpol wanted ads. When telling someone to be quiet and calling them a liar is trying to shush them rather than providing real evidence. Actually if you go to the interpol website and also the website of the Indian authorities you can see that both groups of police have placed Losang Chozin and Tenzin Chodak, Shugden followers, on their wanted list for the murders. This will be my last post here as all the opponents will do is try to spin this issue.
While I feel sad for the laypeople involved, it is they who selected Kundeling Rinpoche and other Chinese apologists as leaders. It is never too late for them to change.

If you visit the WSS website and the Dorje Shugden Society website you will see the chronology of this affair detailed. Lots of facts about the Indian Police view on Shugden people showing that there is no evidence to link them to these horrible murders.

I simply provided the information, and people can google the police report and come to their own conclusions. I was "quiet" on this issue for 6 years. These restrictions came after much agitation from the Shugden side in the monasteries side. I know lived at Sera for 2 years, can you say the same?

This will be my last post on this issue. In the interview the Shugden Society leader Kundeling Lama did not only say he sought protection of the Chinese government, he said that the cultural revolution in Tibet was not that bad, and many other incendiary things.
None of the Shugden supporters have been killed in India over this ban. but Shugden opponent Lobsang Gyatso and 2 students were. Look to the police reports filed by neutral Indian police. Shugden followers are still prime suspects.

People should check carefully who is behind the protests and where the money is coming from. In a recent interview on French television, one of the high ranking Lamas of the Shugden community expressed his support fot the Chinese presence in Tibet. He also said the "cultural revolution wasn't that bad in Tibet".
Whether the protestors in the West didn't know and were manipulated, or whether the PRC is behind this, nothing good for the Tibetan cause will come of it.

It appears that DL's failed policies are contibuting to his marred image. His non-violence stance on Tibet is compromised, majority want Independence vs autonomy, monks are divided due to his religious cleansing. A WALL now stands separating monks who used to pray, eat and socialize together. Preaching religious harmony,tolerance to the world n stepping on your own isn't good for anybody's image, not even DL. Not responsible for his own image? What he says contradicts what he does so.
