It has more to do with a criminal organization that acts like a mafia and hides behind the cloak of religion to avoid paying taxes. The petition makes a very specific request when it comes to Scientology. Human trafficking, forced abortions, civil rights violations, have all been reported by the media sourced from ex-members. If you can construct a similar, specifically worded document about Islam, by all means make that petition on whitehouse(.)gov.

The problem with online petitions is that most people don't know about it, they don't even hear about the results. And so when 5,000 people sign, there are another 50,000 in America alone who would if they knew about it.

What *I* want to see is a full disclosure of the deal Scientology made with the US/IRS that ended up with them being declared a tax exempt religion. This was after they infiltrated IRS, copied personnel documents, etc. Instead of a whole raft of them going to prison, they came out with tax exempt status, and the proceedings are restricted from public access to this day, AFAIK.

A few says ago when I finally got into the account I created and went to sign the petition, the white house website said "sorry this page is down for maintenance" and had a cute little pic of the old piece of shit white house being worked on. It was down for a few days I think. I would bet money that's why there signature rate is so low.You have to sign your soul over before you sign a petition on a BROKEN page.

It's not simply just a false religion. But that can be debated (cross your fingers you don't get sued or baselessly accused of crime). Also, you can get along with Buddhists and Hindus just fine.

What *I* want to see is a full disclosure of the deal Scientology made with the US/IRS that ended up with them being declared a tax exempt religion. This was after they infiltrated IRS, copied personnel documents, etc. Instead of a whole raft of them going to prison, they came out with tax exempt status, and the proceedings are restricted from public access to this day, AFAIK.
