back in the good old days. DVD collections of these old shows are often only available for a limited time and then sadly become unavailable before you know it....

The reason why Tom sang this version of his "theme" so fast, is because this was the beginning of one of his variety shows, and he didn't have time to sing the entire song (what with guests and other musical numbers to come!). He was on for two and a half years (1969-'71) on ABC in the U.S., and the ATV network in England....that's why the videotapes of his series were saved.
