  • Why didnt you put the audio from the recorded and mixed drums ?

  • Sweet deal! I'm a big fan of WRock, and an even bigger fan of recording. It's good to see a wizard rock band that knows how to record. Who knows, if I happen across some cash I might even buy a copy of your CD when it's done!

  • but you didn't give us any serial numbers?!!! - and you call yourself a geek! - I'm still left wondering what all those mics were? - what'd you use for the kick? - and those were large diaphram condensers for the overheads right? - are they a matched pair....?

For next time I'll expect far more detail on the EQing of each other these tracks....

  • snare - ES57

    Hi Tom - SM57

    Lo Tom - SM58

    Kick - PG52

OH Hi - MXL 990 (medium diaphragm)

OH Lo - MXL v63m (large diaphragm)

Obviously the OH were not a matched pair, but I find in a non-XY or ORTF setup it doesn't make as much of a deal. I have some inexpensive Nady pencil condensers that are a matched pair, but sound very harsh on cymbals.

    There ya happy now? :-)

  • Awesome, it's kinda weird for a non-musician to see how it's done!

  • Woot, its Russ! *claps* and his Yet-to-be-named-album of WIN

I am so instrumentally challenged, I don't understand drums at all....or bass....but it...looks like you're doing everything spiffingly XD
