rear tires a lil too big and dont put too much power into that if youre guna have a twist throttle, get a lil loose and try to grab the grip to steady yourself and you just go WHHAAAAAAAPP right into a tree....been there done that

Why WOULD you buy a 450...Honestly they are way overated, they arent JET SPEED faster than a 400. OVERALL the 400ex is better than any 450, with its reverse, reliability, ergonomics, everything about it is great, and the majority of us dont race so why would i want a race bike when i can get one that will go fast, but be happy in trails and if i need to turn around i can.

well the 450's r ment for the track and if u do trail ride with a 450 they do got a reverse pull in the clutch and do a 180 i got a honda 250 looking for a job so i can buy a 400 and then ill bore it strock it duel exhaust intake tires nerf bars ill probly put like a good 3 gs into it

my first sport quad was also a trx250ex, for an upgrade a pretty great quad i would recoment to you would be a polaris predator 500 it has alot of power and good for all around riding even trails and it has reverse, it'd be alot more power for the money compared to enhancing a 400ex

i wouldn't exactly call a z400 beefy weighing in at 376 dry when the 400ex weighs in at 375, its one pound. 24.7 Hp to the ground for the 400ex vs the z400 at 29.29 hp. I coudlnt go as fast on the 400ex, its probably just the rider, and the z400's are obviously decent at jumps doug gust raced one for a few years and tore up 450's.

oh right, its 29.9. thats pure stock no mods not even airbox lid off. the same engines in dirtbikes 38hp stock vs about 31hp (drz 400 then the xr400). No, I like it pretty well; quick response time and everything. It's sort of a bitch to pop wheelies at first, but you get the hang of it pretty quick. Its more fun and saves your hand from cramping.

They had all the works for them...And they still failed. The reason: They put on alot of added stress. They are ok if you dont do anything big, but if you hit something big like my friends did on his track, its not pretty. If you going to do it, do it right and get extended a-arms and some elkas.

hey i have a 2002 honda 400ex, it stallled once on startup and now when i turn the ignition on, the lights turn on and the neutral light turns on and when i push start the engine (at first) stalled to start and didnt and after a couple of tries dosent even make a sound now to start, does anybody have any things i could try?

well on a 400ex put the 450r suspenion on the front and 416 or 426 bore it. and put nerf's with heelguards and a bumper.. and maxxis razr 2's or itp holeshot's. fmf megabomb header and a fmf power core( doesn't matter what version) slip-on. and you will be ating those 450's.

dude,first thing u want to do to ur 400 is (if your planning on riding on trails) get a steel protector for your rear swing are so you dont fuck up your disk brake. If your about horsepower, a slip on exhaust is defiantly a upgrade worth the $. Third, you might want to get some nerf bars which give ur quad a great race look.Other wise, the 400ex is indestructible. Its meant to last!!
