Think about a forearm,because that's what it was.The safest part of your arm with strong bone and a pad on it.That's what that asshole used just to make sure that Eric wouldn't get up.And it wasn't just the blow,but Eric,already unconcious,hit the ice with his head.Double severe concussion right there.Amazingly Eric came back later on.

Actually... take a closer look. I first thought it was an elbow, but look close on this and other replays and you'll see that Steven's shoulder made contact first and in the uplift (proper checking technique) was when the elbow hit. The concussion came on the shoulder.
