  • Truly beautiful front squats, in terms of depth and smoothness. I'm in awe of his strength.

Interesting that his left elbow remains so low, yet he clearly has no problem handling 440lbs in the rack position! The only thing I have in common with this guy is those Inzer wrist wraps!

  • unreal strength

  • I attempted front squats for the first time today, nothing heavy as I need to get my form and technique right first. Where I went wrong straight away was I was actually holding the bar in my hands with my wrists bent backwards, very very uncomfortable as you can imagine. Basically what id like to know please is where the bar should sit. It looks like top of chest and arms, want to get it right so any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Finally well done to the chap

  • @Stuee6899 The bar should rest on your shoulders/delts by bringing them forward with your scapula-if the bar rests on your clavicula that is a little uncomfortable at first but you get used to it-important is to keep your elbows up throughout the movement, the whole hand does not need to hold the bar-two fingers should be enough-a matter of wrist flexibilty-exercise even front squat without hand on the bar at all with light weight to find the right spot where the bar should rest

  • @Stuee6899 I have found some good info on Glenn Pendlay's site for front squatting. Some stretches to get the wrists flexible, etc. Best of luck to you.

  • Damn

  • one of the best front squats i see in youtube good job!

    you help me a lot!

  • this is unbelievable! he might as well be lifting 60 kg, he does it with such ease. ahh why am I so weak

  • I... i think i need to chance my pants..

  • fair play :)

  • beast!

  • SICK GYM!!

  • I used to front squat, then i took an arrow to the knee.

  • @greg200ish shut up nerd.

  • This is what all gyms should look like.

  • amateurs compared to chinese

  • This guy weighs less than me but he's front squatting more than my deadlift 1RM for five reps...damn weightlifters, you scary.

  • Warrick Brant of Australia claims he's front squatting 750 pounds. That's what his bar weighs, but his range is shallow compared to this. So Warrick's lift is a partial, while this one did a complete range into the lowest point. Too bad people keep calling things squats which are partials; even 80% depth is still partial. To try a test, place bar at extreme low point on pins, get under it, roll onto shoulders in pinned position, then stand. Harder than taking off racks. His range goes LOW.

  • @skirts365 yeah thats true. Ass to grass is the only way to go. BROZ has some amazing lifters who can squat pretty damn deep

  • Crazy squats. Love it.

  • THAT mother fuckers is a squat..

  • @Jordinhooo3 Ok, mother fucker

  • Certainly very deep squats

  • fucking beast!!!

  • that is straight up amazing. great form dude.

  • dude sitting down behind the Dabaya looks shredded

  • @jamesLG1 don't want dabaya to rip his shirt off...

  • His ass could crack a coconut

  • very strong

  • Ouch! look at the amount of anterior pelvic tilt O_O, incredibly short hip flexors/iliopsoas belly sticking out and all.

  • @funk192 africans tend to be predisposed to it. look at any successful sprinter. for some reason the tilt/huge glute seems to go hand in hand with being able to produce powerful burst of force with he legs. forget the dominant european/greek models of proportion/perfection for a second and look at older african art and u'll see this body type depicted a lot. art reflecting reality. but in the end its the conquerors set the trends and standards that all others must follow.

  • @mboyemanster

Thanks for this post it was intelligent and informative. We need more people on Youtube like you

  • @funk192 Are you saying the belly sticking out is bad? In lifts like this, especially with ridiculous weight like that, you need to fill the belly to brace the back and core for better overall strength

  • @mankillsquare Not reaklly trying to say that a lttle belly sticking out is bad, it's just that here it looks a bit excessive lumbar lordosis.

  • @funk192 Dude, keep in mind that he's lifting 440 POUNDS for reps!

  • i only started doing front squats 8-9 mos ago, when i finally realized how to hold the weight without killing my wrists. i did 285 the other day, soon hope to have 3 plates on. and no, i don't do em on the same day as back squats.

  • btw you guys are sad counting the weight plates

  • you can lift more than that, that was easy!

i don't get why people don't put clips on though? all it takes is a bit of lean and you're fucked

  • @Obsidian1392 I think the reson they don't put clips on is so that if you do get overwhelmed with the weight of it you can tip it to the side and let the weights fall off and then just ease the ther half of the weights to the ground as opposed to collapse under the weights, also without clips you've got to focus more on keeping a straight non twisting form,

  • @jamnob777 sorry that makes no sense. ive never witnessed anyone dumping a squat by letting the plates slide off. the reason why they don't use clips is simply because you dont need them. theres enough friction between the plates and the bar to hold the plates in place. and if the plates slide off for whatever reason, that means you have horrible squat form and should stop squatting. if you can't get up, you bring your hips forward, and the bar will fall off behind you. its simple.

  • WTB your form sir.I have terrible issues keeping my back so straight,

  • @Rattattattatt yeah, I see now, i'ts cause I'm approaching it like a BS, I stick may ass out, not knees forward.

  • Buns of steel

  • What you know about proper form and heavy weight?

    This dude is killing it!

  • niiice

  • it is beautiful

  • This is my goal for next 15 years.....

  • that's quality !

  • @MacMaraScott dont be jealous... start to work your way out! :)

  • little man, big squats

  • that was brilliant lifting well done

  • lots of gear in that gym

  • this man is really strong

  • the gym made for lifting heavy ass weights

  • ghetto gym

  • cool gym

  • Powerhouse! How much does he weigh - less than 69kg? Exactly 69kg?

I'm 5'9" and 72kg and no way as solid as that guy.

  • SAYYY WHATTT!!!!!!

  • No spotter-never in WL training-if you can`t lift it on your own-drop it. The front squat is an functional assistance exercise meaning it builds strength in leg/hip to recover from the deep clean position-that´s why WL squat- there is a rule of thumb that if you can front squat a load for three reps you can clean it safe.

  • @reviewsvoiceontube well front squats aren't an assistance exercise to olympic lifting, there's a front squat in the clean lol

  • @Obsidian1392 yes, when recover from the clean it is a front squat, you`re right in that sense- as in snatch it is an overhead squat-but we refer to the front squats as seen here out off the rack just as the back squat as accessory work or assistance movements- even though the movement is part of the competition lift- a clean without the jerk or the jerk off the rack is therefore an assistance movement in a way

  • someone needs to spot him

  • @sasuke343 are you going to catch 440 when it goes down?

  • what power..

  • i could watch this the whole day =)

    200kg front thats amazing!

  • can u imagine how a kick to the face would feel like from this guy

  • Impressionnant dabaya !

  • oh, the guys train with the girls in one hall-I know Dabaya lifts for france-but where is this? And you`re wrong-it IS 200 kilogramm straight-red plates=25Kg, blue plates=20Kg, yellow plates=15kg, green plates=10kg each

  • THATS NOT 200 KGS IT IS 5 X 15KG PLUS 5 X 15 KG

    THATS 150 KG

  • @hypersupermamado red 25kg, blue 20kg, green 10kg, yellow 15, bar 20kg.

    2r(50)+4b(80)+2y(30)+2g(20)+bar(20) = 200kg

    math is not an opinion!

  • @cicco277 LOL

  • Holy COW!!! Mad strength

  • dumbells are not allowed in =P

  • Oh, right when I saw that all of the weights were like the same I thought all were of 15kg :P my bad (yet the bar doesn't count, well I never count it haha)

  • Man, that's 150kg, there's no 200kg haha

  • @biancodubini1

    1x 25kg (red) 2x20kg(blue) 1x10kg(green) 1x15kg (yellow) on each side + 20 bar = 200Kg!

(Can´t believe it too, I feel so weak now...)

  • @biancodubini1

    1x25kg (red) 2x20kg(blue) 1x10kg (green) 1x15kg(yellow) on each side + 20kg barbell = 200kg!!

(Can´t believe it too, I feel so weak now...)

  • @biancodubini1 red=25 kg blue =20 green= 10 kg....

  • fuck front squats man.... fuck em. my whole body is immobile for today

  • pretty sure those chicks in the background are bigger then me... i'd still root em though :).

  • so smmooooth

  • why on dabaya's t-shirt japon? :D

  • im scared :o

  • this really brings the real meaning to the word "GYM"!

  • Some day i will do this like him, YOU HEAR ME WORLD? HAaaaaaaaaa

  • Now that is badass!

  • Since starting crossfit, I look at Olympic lifters/gymnasts in a whoooole new light! MAD RESPECT!!! Scary when kids are growing up to learn good technique in both!

  • @awalkerog crossfit is for fags

  • @MultiTrollHunter That was a very ignorant comment to make. That will be the only feedback you receive from me. Take care.

  • @awalkerog yes, they are world class athletes. whats crazy though, is that naim suleymanoglu had a higher total at 60 kg in 1988 than what gave Dabaya the gold in 69 kg class at the world championship in 2006.

  • look at his core stick out. jesus christ

  • Holy hell, he makes this look so easy.

  • strong bastard

  • Amazing! that is my goal! I'm only seventeen and my max for front squat is 315lbs

  • @34Nunez

18 myself, 4 months of training and I'm about 70 lbs behind you. I have a predisposition for deadlifts though and pulled 335 off the floor the first time and got 415 recently.

  • Very impressive. Nice form and depth!

  • thats a real fuckin gym

  • @PhilDesigns with niggers, cool story brah

  • @AlexanderTooy jealous? :(

  • @MYNAMEISFRANKENSTEIN not even 1 bit

  • if only he could pass the drug test in that condition, he would probably clean and jerk 210kg in the 69kg class

  • Τhats 170 kg not 200

  • @tasos2 2x25kg, 4x20kg, 2x10kg, 2x15kg + bar is two hundred.

  • NICE

  • he can probably backsquat 650 and deadlift 600

  • THIS IS AMAZING QUALITY FOR 2006 OMG

  • @tommytCOD yh because they so didnt have video captured @ 360p in 2006 !!!!

  • Awsome lift. Nice to see sombody with a good looking body lifting that weight. Usually fat, short, bald guys with hair on their chin

  • wrong wrong wrong ! bad technique and those shoes , terrible !! lol ;)

  • He drops the weight so dangerously, one wrong move would have taken out his knee... if it caught him.

  • @KCLERIGO no its not

  • @KCLERIGO This is a sport of throwing a bar above your head bracing and then throwing it back down again. He is fine.

  • Ok i've watched this too many times, how come dude sitting down with the blue shirt looks like he's frozen stuck watching this.

  • @brothomas ll i was thinking the same thing.

  • ale moc

  • holly shit

  • Absolutely crazy.

  • Guy in the background sittin around buff like a boss

  • can someone tell me how he is grippin the bar? it seems like he has it on two fingers or somethin!!>????

  • @kapows thats because thats how you do front squats

  • @XxCriealisxX errr ok well thats a start. i wish to learn not question the technique hence i asked if someone could explain how to go about gripping the bar???

  • @kapows ur hands are in the same place as they would be in back squats but u put ur hands under it with two or three fingers to balance it. u rly just rest the bar on ur upper chest. then youd go down just like a normal squat but as you go down you raise your elbows up.

  • Holy fuckin bejeesuz balls!!!

  • Holy hell, front squats are fuckin hard too.

  • This is one of the most incredible videos on all of Youtube.

  • Fuck that was great

  • whoa, that is a lot of weight.

  • the barbell is about to break in half :D

  • Damn. That much weight on front squats is impressive. The form is perfect. Ppl always do form wrong on squats, this guys breakin 90 even.

  • thats a sexy gym!!! flat gym with a shit load of platforms

  • FRENCH POWER ! Vencelas Dabaya is one of the best french lifter ! He won the world champion title ! But he's doing more and more wrong things, 'cause he is 30 yeas old and it's quite old for weightlifting ...

  • that was beautiful form.

  • that gym is terrifying

  • @remstar10 It can be intimidating when you get in there no doubt.

  • @remstar10 by 'gym' are you referring to that greased up, pumped black dude?

  • @massivewhopper yes. lmao

  • @remstar10 why, because they're all black?

  • @jakebrigand why are you trying to start a race war right now?

  • Pssshhhh I can do that with 1 leg.

  • thats DAMN impressive.

  • whats kg? can someone translate it to lbs for me?

  • 1 kg is 2.2 lbs

  • @skaterfreak60 2.2 pounds to a kg so the weight is 440 pounds and the guy is like 150 pounds

    IMPRESSIVE

  • @44redman1 thanks

  • Dabaya is incredibly strong, especially for his size, I wouldn't be all that surprised if he could clean 210kg if he really wanted to.

  • For being that smal thats insane!!

  • Thats a 'BEAST' on a 'FEAST'!

  • if he was gay i'd do all that i can to marry him

  • 2.89 times bodyweight x 5 nice clean front squats = WOW!!!!

  • His form looks really straight, the only part that dithers is the bar :)

  • Go Cameroon!!!!!

    Go Cameroon!!!!!!

He is from Cameroon and was formed there as an athlete and FRQANCE stole him!!!!

    Go Cameroon!!!!!!

  • @AFROTHINKER well, the french always use to steal the blacks xD ( don't want to be racist)

  • I wish I was black.

  • @eposdivinity Why would you say that!!!!

It has bnothing to do with the color of the skin!!!! believe me!!!!

Dont look at him and say you cant do it!!!!

He has been doing that for almost all his life.

  • notice he's black lol

  • ok, hears ya, but that sounds sligtly different from what ive read and herd. i hear what you say and its duly noted.

  • thinking bout hyperthroing the vastus, using front squats. but frnt squats become torture after 8 reps. so how does this sound: 10X6 30 Sec btween sets?

  • @collwatt Sets and reps aren't important. It's only about doing as much weight for as many reps as fast as possible. Set a rep-goal for a certain weight and try to do these reps in the shortest time possible. Doesn't matter if your goal is 20 and the set looks like this: 8/5/1/3/2/1. Just keep the rest time low and the intensity high. Don't count your rest either. If you feel ready to lift after 20 seconds then lift, if you don't feel ready after 30, wait another 10.

  • @arpussupra Precisely. People stick to schedules instead of instinct. The most awesome people in history did stuff in an unusual way. Following systems instead of following your body will only bring two things - failure and injury.

  • impressive!!!!

  • Squats are good (wish more people would do them), but front squats will put some hair on your chest!!! LOL, good work!!

  • for a man lifting in the 69kg weightclass... :o

  • Just black guys? ANd women's ! Damm you all are dam good! :)
