It is in the film, it's just on a scene you don't notice - when Detective Matthews calls his son's phone after they a fight in the beginning. You hear this song faintly in the background.

Maynard is one of those types I think that doesn't say "f**k it, its good enough," his work is perfect in that it is exactly as he would have it presented, with no hums. Which is why I love that this rendition seems to be missing something, it gives the song a certain effect. I love not having to compare his different versions, they're just different ways of portraying the same thing. Painting the same picture with different styles of paints, etc. Damn I love this song.
