LG Optimus One Review

I have the Optimus one, I have only one problem with it so far, I can play video that I have recorded back on the phone and it plays with sound, but if I email the video to myself and down load it to my comp the video had no sound, or if I remove the SD card and plug it into my comp I still have no audio in the video (video with sound on phone, on comp no sound) can you help?

I just got this phone today to be honest and I love it! Although using the wi-fi hotspot on the phone for my other devices like my computer, doesn't work. My computer will bring up the connection and I will click it and type the password and stuff like that that but i can't get on the internet... Please help? Does your phone do this as well? @peace00021 We can't really comment on technical problems/possible faults like this without seeing it. So we always reccomend to either return your handset to your network provider for repair, if it is still under warranty you may even be able to get it replaced.

Do not know about plans(I am at India and we have all phones sold unlocked) but yes it is an excellent phone.

@StratfordBelieber Yes the phone is good prepaid, i believe telus has unlimited texting plans and because this is an android phone, u can get VoIP or texting Applications that allow u to talk and or text over WiFi. If u are on WiFi, u can download any app, access the internet, and use Facebook (using data on prepaid is expensive) if not, then it's not really worth it. (high schools, restaurants, and shops usually have free wifi for you to use)

@StratfordBelieber you can use it, but telus doesnt have data included on their prepaid plans so you use your credit to pay for data if you use facebook. you could do it for free if there is a wifi zone though. and you would have to pay for each text too, since it is prepaid

i have this phone, nd im on a prepaid plan from telus.

It is one of the better prepaid phones from telus, and i highly reccomend it.

There is an unlimited texting plan, its $15 a month, but if you also want internet. Its $20 for unlimited texting, and 250mb of internet.. Also, if you dont want to pay for internet, you can always use wifi. The facebook and twitter app also comes already installed on the phone.

@AdamChris0076 the standard launcher still has a small amount of lag when swiping through the screens and the app menu. but if you download Launcher Pro, it will solve ALL of those problems and will feel really fast

I use my phone for video streaming and games a lot and I don't really like my optimus one - the video quality is pretty crappy and the interface gets really laggy. The apps sometimes freeze and crash. you have to litterally shake the damn phone to have the screen rotate and the screen is cramped so you'll have a lot of typos. Don't get this phone, its garbage.

@SuperMitchAko There are some sources that say there are apps and downloads available to allow the Optimus One to work with Flash but most say that it cannot. It can however, definately play YouTube videos as you can download a dedicated YouTube app.

Galaxy Fit - No Java, 256MB RAM, bad battery backup, average rating 7.2 (as on gsmarena)

LG O1 - Java, 512 MB RAM, better battery backup, average rating 8.5 (as on gsmarena)

Trust me, i've done my homework, below 10k this is the one..

I'd say below 20k also this wud be my one :D

@SubliminalInfluence I got the Optimus One because of the price and I'm very very happy with it. There are a few apps you can't run on it due to the lower powered CPU (like Google Earth) but just about every app is compatible and runs smooth. The camera is okay and although phone calls sound fine, music and movies sound lousy with or without headphones. The 3.25" screen is nice but my next one will be bigger. I love this phone like crazy though. I can hardly put it down 3 months later.

Over half of these apps are free and others will carry a small cost. So, some apps you have to pay for but many are free. Hope that helps :)

@kingofpuck I would say the Optimus One is the better out of those two phones, the INQ phone is pretty much purely based around social networking (mostly facebook) and the Optimus One is the more powerful/varied of the two phones.

It's not as quick as it's bigger brother the Optimus 2X but for the lower price band it runs quite smooth. If you can stretch to the bigger brother that may offer a more lasting choice.

I just got this phone about a month ago. It's a great phone but the battery life is really shitty. I charge it up and it just sits around on my desk, and the battery will last just a couple of hours. This is with the GPS, bluetooth turned off, with the brightness at the lowest. Totally not what i expected from a 1500 mAh battery. So yeah, Mr. E2vids, the review on the battery you have here is totally misleading!

@E2vids i believed he asked about galaxy 5 and not S... In my opinion, 5 is not that nice... because it is running 2.1, has a 2.8inch screen... Galxy 3 is better... But if you ask me i'd rather buy the optimus one.. It's an amazing phone :D and i used O2X yesterday and dual core in my hands felt so darn awesome :D
