  • This is neither Dadara nor Kehrawa; this theka is called 'Latka', derived from Dadra six matras.

  • DRONACHARYA OF SITAR

  • It is khemta Dadra (Dha tin na Na dhin na)

  • onnek meeshti i meant verry sweet in "banglaa

  • dhun is light classical which is usually found played in dadra or kaherwa.. :)

  • waoooooooo!

  • They (he) has also used few very famous pieces of phadhi .

    very beautiful , amazing.

  • Brilliant concepts and controlled execution. I never tire of listening to Shahidji!

What's with the camera work, however? The pictures, pastoral scenery, sudden changes of shots are distracting. Why can't they just keep the thing focused on the musicians and go away?

  • this great

most confusing sound flub happens at 6:00 minutes

    i was scared...

  • thats recording fault not the players fault, and can happen in tape recordings

  • Yes.

  • thanx for the info

  • Brilliant meends!! Any idea what taal this dhun is set to?

  • It is dadra taal (6 beats).

  • It can also be Khemta

  • I am not familiar with Khemta. Could you explain the difference?

  • Dadra is Dha Dhin Na Na Tin Na while Khemta is Dhin Dhin Ta Tin Na Ta. So thats the difference

  • Thanks.

  • Sorry...this one is definitely Dadra

  • obviously :)

  • He is just a genius the like of whom hasn't been seen yet in the realm of music, plain and simple. He beats Mozart, Bach, and Bhetoven by wide margins. I wish I could get a chance to meet him someday and learn a few things from him.

  • God bless you for posting this. i had the pleasure of sitting at his feet not too long ago. He is NOT just an amazing and an un-match sitar player, he is equally an awesome human being. He will teach you without any pre-condition. It is UP to you to keep up and learn. Got talent? which is quite different from Got milk. Ustad Jee, May God bless you and your family. it would be a while and a long while before a mom give birth to another talent like him.

  • The split view at 1:43 is a brilliant idea.

    Beautiful presentation.
