Hello! Have you ever tried the Fat Blast Furnace (do a search on google)? Ive heard some unbelivable things about it and my friend lost plenty of useless fat.
one problem i come across is how much should we expect to gain in a month? my gains are slowing because i know your gains are less and less as you become less of a noob however how do i know the difference between that happening versus coming to a plateau?
@nearfall76 always record your lifts and take pictures of yourself to make sure you are progressing. I used to think that I wasn't getting any bigger/stronger until I looked at pictures and lifts I recorded months ago. and I've been at it for 3 and a half years and still see gains. Make sure you go in with full concentration, and DIET, eat ALOT. make sure your getting enough rest. I know this is very general, but if you have any more questions, pm me and I can answer anything you'd like :)
@S7R31F no, that would be fine. i wouldn't count cardio as "on days" for working out. Cardio has many benefits which is very good that you choose to do it 3 times a week! many people don't do cardio at all
@S7R31F nope. light cardio is ok to push out lactic acid and helps ur overall health. i play basketbal twice a week and lift 4 times. tuesday is my only day 100% off. dont be in there huffin n puffin tho. u could do like very light cardio/abs and calves r somethin like that . i wouldnt go 7 days. tried and it just sucks ass
I'm training 3 times a week about 1.5 - 2 hours with warm up, stretching and cardio. I should be overtraining but I'm not. I actually noticed a dramatic increase in my immune system when I started to lift weights. And my heart? I think it's getting stronger with my every workout. Oh, and my motivation? It's top level.
@DUAL727 The less times you go to the gym per week the more extended workout you can do per session. Its all about total volume. You wouldnt be able to sustain 2 hours in the gym if you are on a 5 days split like me. Also when we say an hour of workout, that doesnt include the stretching and cardio. Goodluck & keep it up :)
I have a question brother. Sometimes I lift weights for like two hours when i wanna hit two different muscles, is it bad to eat high protein bars when I feel a bit weaker to gain energy and continue my workout?
Ray i downloaded the 4 day split routine you say 3 sets right? but what about warm up sets?
on chest do you go light weight 2 sets then last set to failure? i think i need more warm up?
and the other thing after hitting shoulders you only having 2 day of rest till hitting shoulders again on chest day i dont think my shoulder will not recover in 2 days=(
I have quite a problem! I changed my routine from purely strength to hypertrophy and EVERY other muscle than my shoulders either have the same strength or have grown in strength BUT my shoulders have less strength now.. :/ My split is 4-split + full-body: Chest/biceps-Legs-back-shoulders-restday-fullbody workout-restday.
@jodakiller132 Im suspecting the lower volume for shoulders is the problem... I trained a 3-day split before. It could also be my current split that is bad... I train squat and deadlifts the days before shoulders.. It might exhaust my energy for them.
my gym days consist of 12-16 sets in 30-40 minutes. going to add a few more sets to fill up the hour. i've kept a log for quite awhile, so i'll see if it's better by comparison
guy's! please listen to this!!!!!! no more than 45mins in the gym!! as long as you do around 14-16 sets to all out muscle failure, then this advice is good
This reminds me of when I was trying to find some videos from the Hodge twins but came across this fat guy who was saying that you can't get a good workout unless you're spending two hours in the gym... Of course this guy is also one of those people who are more concerned with magazine products than actually working out.
Hey ray please answer this.. I popped my shoulder out of place playing football with friends about 3 weeks ago and popped it back in immediately. it wasnt too severe but it did hurt. I took about a week off of upperbody now im working my way up with lighter weight but i REALLY love working out and want to keep gaining muscle. But what do you think i should do, do you have any advice on my training routines?? I want to keep working out but dont want to further my injury.
@jahhhhhh123 Hey man I popped my shoulder years ago and I took about 6 weeks off. All I can say is dont rush it!!! You'll regret it down the road in life if you re-injure your shoulder. The rest time was enough and I lost no size. Your strength will come back before you know it just make sure your getting plenty of rest to fully recuperate. As far as size just keep eating QUALITY protein every 2 to 3 hours. Please dont be stubborn DO NOT rush the healing process. Shoulders are a delicate joint!
@joehero1977 I agree with Joehero. I subluxated my shoulder (make sure you get it checked out by a doc to see the severity) and 3 different doc opinions recommended just physical rehab for 6 weeks. I'm much stronger than I previously was as I returned with even stricter proper form/nutrition. This is just advice on youtube - you may still need to see an orthopedic to make sure its not worse that it is.
dude thanks for the info. i was really overtaining. i wanted to increase in wt in bench so i was doin em 3 days a week. reverse pyramids. i took a deload week, and feel so much better. here is my question since i want to increase on the bench, how many times should i preform this exercise a week? this is a open questions for everyone who wishes to help me. thanks ya'll
@gtashji i would say about once a week, but also add strength in your shoulders and triceps because they are important if you want to bench more weight :)
@impulsivegrizzly ok thank you guys, sorry i have one more question. strength training for the shoulder should i do on a seperate day form bench? cause i do pushing exercise on one day, and pulling on another. thanks for advice
@gtashji you strength training on the bench or just wanting to get bigger? you can do it 3 times a week but it would have to be well off failure to avoid overtraining..ive done a powerlifting programme that was 3 times a week mon, wed, fri it was called 6 week russian deadlift programme, google it..ive used it for various body parts including bench and it works well for everything. or try wendler 5 3 1..there's loads of routines that you can find on google that will keep you moving forward.
how do olympic athletes train for hours during a day? they eat a shitload of food.. i think overtraining occurs when you're just not getting enough energy from your food, and overtraining mostly occurs when people try to cut
ugh why couldn't of you made this a few years ago. I was over training like crazy. I would come home from the gym and start sneezing and not know why. The good thing is you can counter this by eating a shit load more
it takes a lot from a natural to over train. and if in a miraculous way you are over training, don't worry about noticing symptoms, because you sure as hell will find out about it. just dont insert that thought in your mind.
Someone needed to address this topic; I've personally burnt myself out more times than I can remember.
It wasn't until I cleaned up my diet, took a deload week for the holidays, and adopted a simple 3-day split that I started seeing great results in both fat loss and strength (maybe muscle) gains.
theres 176 views and only 22 likes what happening people why are more people not liking the videos it only takes 1 sec to like a video it will help the dude out go on like it
I havn't been able to train my upper body for a month, not sure whats wrong. Saw a doc they gave me naproxin and muscle relaxers.. but that isn't doing anything, i think i really snapped some shit up
I got seriously injured back in high school because of over training. It set me back for months and I lost my momentum and drive to work out again and then gained weight. I definitely don't want to go through that again. 45 to 50 minutes under 20 sets and I'm good and I definitely pay more attention to my form now.
More Intensity is better for sure. Keep it under 20 sets and workout in splits and you can go as hard as you want without worrying about "overtraining"
@ADTT71 not true...Overtraining depends on a number of factors, such as how much rest you get outside of the gym(like the nature of ur job), your sleep, your diet, you age etc...just saying you are overtraining if you spend more than an hour in the gym is simply incorrect.
Take my case for example.I'm a 23 yr old financial analyst(ie, desk job). I will recover far quicker than a 30 yr old bloke who is a construction worker.
@480al would u train differently then. im sittin in school all day. i train everything once a week tho i could hit it every 5 to 6 days if i wanted. i still wait 7 days as it fits my schedule. eg;delts/tris, off, back/traps, off chest/bis, legs, off

What's your view on DC training? ("Dog crap")
I only do plyometrics now so I don't really abuse my body with heavy weights - only my own body weight with many repetitions.
I just heard of DC training and it sounds interesting.

also, chronic overtraining will lead to a drop in testosterone which is no fun.... trust me, i know from experience
